A friend brought me and I tried Peruvian cuisine for the first time. I was very impressed with the quality and freshness of the ingredients, and according to my friend it was genuine traditional cuisine. The ceviche was outstanding, the fish super fresh, and the seasoning not too acidic (instead of tasting mostly like lime juice and onions as usual). The giant Inca corn served with it was fresh and tasty. One of my friends had an Inca Coca Cola which was yellow (!) and tasted like candy, and another had a purple corn drink that was flavored with cinnamon. I also tasted a delicious green pesto pasta with beef tips that were tender, smoky and not chewy. The guacamole with fried yuca was also delicious! Another interesting dish was the Leche de Tigre (I think that's what it was called) which was basically a cold fish soup served in a cocktail glass--sounds weird but I tried it and it was very good. I loved the fried seaweed that decorated the top, it tasted a little bit like fried calamari with a softer texture. Delicious! The waiter was extremely helpful and explained the menu in detail as we had lots of questions, and they were also very accommodating with the heat level which is always an issue for me. I was so happy to be able to enjoy flavorful latin food without burning my mouth! I hope they stay around for a long time so I can bring everyone there and try other dishes on their extensive menu--including their special "menu of the day" which includes drink and dessert.

Los Andes is absolutely delicious whenever you're in Rhode Island!…read more I didn't realize at first that I had actually visited 4 years ago. I just remembered having amazing ceviche in RI back then, and randomly stumbling upon them again made me realize it was the same spot, and it's still just as delicious! Ceviche Mixto (5/5): Hands down one of the best ceviches I've ever had. Churrasco al Gaucho with Mashed Potatoes (4.5/5): Tender, delicious steak and great mashed potatoes all around. Andina Empanadas (4.25/5): Super meaty, perfectly puffy, and nicely crisp. There was a slight hint of sweetness I wasn't expecting, but I still really enjoyed them. Jalea (4/5): A generous portion of fried seafood. Good overall Classic Paella (4/5): Solid paella, though nothing super standout. Calamari (3.75/5): Good flavor, but the pieces were a little too small for my liking.

Jalea: I don't usually like fried seafood, but this was really good! Besides the usual oysters, quahogs, shrimp, mussels, and squid, they also had South American specialties like paiche and pota. The batter was just the right consistency, not too thick, so it was crispy but not hard, and not too greasy, allowing you to taste the natural flavor of the seafood. The best dish was the fried shrimp; the thin, crispy shell concealed incredibly smooth and tender shrimp inside. The yucca fries were thickly cut, crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside, very satisfying. I recommend ordering an extra side of chili sauce; the waiter called it "extra spicy," but it's actually a salsa-like sweet and sour sauce--refreshing and mildly spicy, very refreshing. 903 Tasting: A platter of three signature dishes, perfect for first-timers. Ceviche Mixto had a milder sourness, making it easy to put in mouth, but it was a bit monotonous, and the scallops were a little mushy. Jaleita was basically a smaller version of Jalea. Arroz con Mariscos was similar to Spanish paella, but it was noticeably more tomato-based in sourness, with a hint of cheese. The rice wasn't too soggy either, making it the best of the three. Lomo Saltado: A classic Peruvian dish, and well-made. The beef is very flavorful, emphasizing the tomato's acidity rather than the soy sauce's saltiness, and the gamey taste was well removed. Although it was a bit overcooked , it was generally acceptable. By the way, their backyard was really beautiful!

Here are a few of the dishes that we've gotten over the last few visits: - Ceviche Mixto: great mix of seafood (white fish, calamari, and shrimp) and you can tune the amount of heat. The corn adds a nice chewy texture and is a nice contrast when the acidity might get a bit too much. - Jalea de Mariscos: crisply and well seasoned, there's something here for everyone because it's a combination of fried white fish, calamari, shrimp, and yucca. - Tallarines Verdes: pasta with a pesto made from questo blanco/fresco and spinach and basil, served with a steak on top. The steak is thin, so don't be expecting a specific temperature/cook on it, but it's super flavorful and juicy. The drinks are balanced and really tasty and refreshing, our favorites are the pisco sour, pisco mule, and anything with chicha!

The food portions are generous and--naturally--packed with diverse flavors, textures, and great seasoning (including the vegetarian dishes). In my opinion, the one thing I'd change is the way they "restrict" the salsas; at first, they only give you two small containers. Sure, you can ask for more, but it's still rationed, and eventually, asking for extra starts to feel like a hassle.

We were a group of 6 people and were seated right away. They have an extensive menu for food and drinks. Everything is Japanese with some Peruvian flavours. For drinks half of us tried the fruit juices, made fresh. The other half opted for beer. The fruit juice was more like a smoothie. It was incredible and I would have definitely ordered more if I weren't full. It came in a strawberry and a pineapple flavour. I got the strawberry-ginger and it was very refreshing. For appetizers we got vegetable tempura, a shrimp wrapped in plantain tempura, and a chicken avocado tart of some sort. The veg tempura were meh but the rest of the appetizers were phenomenal. Especially the shrimp wrapped in plantain! For mains, some of us got seafood soba noodles, sushi and a fish dish. The food was pretty unique. The soba noodles did not look like soba, I think they used regular ramen noodles instead. However the sauce and seafood flavours were such a hit! Great find in Lawrence! Overall great experience. The service could be nicer. Will definitely be back for an after work dinner.

The roast chicken was indeed good, but the other dishes were a bit lacking. 1/4 Dark: This is the lower-end option, while the white one is the upper-end. The chicken thigh meat was roasted until tender and juicy, easily falling off the bone with a fork; unfortunately, the skin was also soft and a bit too salty. Fries: The fries were piping hot, but without any seasoning, which detracted from their appeal. The restaurant offers three dipping sauces: yellow/green sauce and white dressing, which tasted essentially the same as yellow mustard mayonnaise, Thousand Island dressing, and regular mayonnaise--the flavors were actually quite similar.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while so we were excited to check it out. The restaurant is nice with plenty of seating for big and small groups. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you at your table. We decided to share 1/2 a chicken with a small side of beans and large side of french fries. If you order a side you get a free side salad so that was a nice surprise. We also wanted to try their chicha morada which is a typical Peruvian style drink. The drink was nice and sugary and tasted like hibiscus ice tea. When the chicken came out it smelled really good! Everything was nice and hot and we couldn't wait to dig in! I am a french frie lover and I think these were the best fries I have ever had in Boston!! They were thick, crispy, and perfectly salted and I couldn't get enough of them! The pinto beans were also very good and tasted authentic! It reminded me of my mom's cooking which is a compliment. The chicken was the star of the show. It was very juicy and tender and very well seasoned. The meat litterly melted off the bone and I was quickly devouring it. I think 1/2 a chicken to share was enough for the both of us since we had a huge pile of french fries to finish. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back for some good chicken!
