You're paying a premium, but the Peruvian food is worth it. The Tacu Tacu a lo Pobre and the Lomo Saltado both contained a nice combo of flavors, tender beef, and were a good portion size. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't let the area deter you, it's worth a try![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Work in the area and starting to branch out as sick of the typical spots. I read up about here and stopped by after work and got: Guacamole con yuca frita (never had anything like this, recommend) Wantan frito (great) SOPA WANTAN ESPECIAL (so good) Alfajores (great) Will definitely stop by again to try more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice peruvian restaurant with some great options, hearty portions, and nice low-key vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A little gem in the industrial area near some truck depots and the Encore. Parking here is tight but free. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is small but cozy. The walls are decked out in cultural fare, TV is on repeat for some great Peruvian/South American shows and music videos. A little grimey in a good way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is on pointe. They're very attentive, making sure everything is okay, eager to offer help and opinions on the menu. Food came out quickly. They were very accommodating and helpful for our young kids. The food was excellent. The lomo saltado was awesome as was the aji de gallina. We loved the trio criollo was the best order. We ordered way too much but had to try everything. It felt like I was back in Peru. The chinese Peruvian food is pretty cool and touted as the only restaurant to have their combined cultural cuisine. The prices were a little higher than I expected but the quality was worth it along with the service.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. This place is a hidden gem in Somerville, right at Sullivan station. We had reservations since a lot of the reviews mentioned the space is small. Inside it's cozy and has about 5-6 tables. The interior and decor is on point. Their menu has a lot of options and specials and if you're a vegetarian, do not hesitate to ask them for veggie options (they have many!). I got the Lomo Saltado and my friend got a rice Nd bean dish. Both tasted amazing, the flavours and spices hit the spot.

The food was great as always. Took the chance to come on a weekend but feared it would be too busy, but it wasn't. Was able to get a table right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have great music playing with some lights that shift in color.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I could see they had many orders from online and over the phone, so my wife's food took a little longer, but it was worth the wait. We knew on the way here that there might be a small wait. Highly recommend as always.

My daughter recently recommended this spot, so when we visited, this was our first choice for a late lunch. It's not a huge place, and it's right on the edge of an industrial area, but don't let that stop you from eating here! We had a fabulous meal! Started with tasty fried yucca (piping hot) and guacamole. My partner had the tallarin, which she really enjoyed! I had the Seco de Res, which was super tasty. My daughter had the Lomo Saltado with pesto linguine - perfect mash up of Peruvian and Italian dishes! The staff was very attentive, served us quickly, and were very engaged. We'll definitely be back!

The flavor of the lomo saltado is very good but the portion of meat is very small but it is very tender maybe it is tenderloin and that is expensive but I don't think so everything is expensive in these times anyway the dish costs $20 the rice is perfect and it's jasmine. I'll have to go back to try something chifa.

I can't speak on authenticity, but the food was incredible. I came with a couple friends and we shared a bit of each other's food. I will say, the [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space it self is small and homey with around 3-4 tables that can seat up to 5-ish people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great, just a little slower than what I'm personally used to at other restaurants (45min to get food after ordering). I highly recommend eating here, but don't come expecting a quick-bite. Pros: - The seco de res, lomo saltado and aji de gallina were really flavorful. The meats were tender and the beef easily fell off the bone. Spotlight for the peruvian beans, the texture and salt-level was perfect for my personal preferences. - Incredibly friendly service - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Warm space to chat and joke with friends[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - Great value in terms of portion size and ingredient quality - My first time trying chica morada -- I generally don't like things that are overly sweet, but this was perfect and I loved the taste of the spices. Wasn't overdone. Cons: - Limited parking - Would have preferred to have some sauce for the fried fish, it felt a little underseasoned otherwise. Taste/texture fatigue set in for my friend half-way through. (Great portion of fish tho)

I went to the Peruvian Taste Restaurant located on 78 Arlington Ave, Charlestown, MA 02129 to try authentic peruvian food. For appetizers we had the wonton fritos off their Chifa/Peruvian chinese section of the menu. The name "chifa" originates from the Mandarin "chi-fan," which means "to eat rice." The wonton fritos were paired with a sweet red duck sauce. These were delicious and people describe the flavor as having pork rinds (chicharon) and dumplings (siomai) at the same time. When I come back to this spot I want to try more off this section of the menu! Another appetizer we had was the Anticuchos. This was beef heart marinated in peruvian aji panca sauce. These were so good and probably the best tasting meat of the evening. For entrees we had the Mar y Tierra. This dish had fettuccine pasta with huancaina sauce, steak and shrimp. This dish was a unique combination and very tasty! We also tried the Lomo Saltado which was grass-fed steak, onions, tomatoes, rice and fries. The steak was so tender- I will be dreaming about eating it again! For dessert we had a peruvian ice cream flavor known as Lucuma. The best way to describe this flavor was that it had a hint of caramel/maple. We also tried Leche Asada which was very similar to a rice pudding. Everything was so good at this spot! This place deserves a whole lot more LOVE! I recommend it if you are in the area and want to try Peruvian food. Overall Rating: Food: 7/10 Affordability: 7/10 Ambiance: 6/10

Food was incredible! My first dip into Peruvian food and the food was delicious and jam packed with flavor. This is a tiny restaurant that wasn't around much. No problem finding parking and because it's so small you definitely need a reservation. The server was so nice and explained all the entrees to us when we asked questions. Lomo saltado is a must order and I absolutely loved the ceviche and arroz con mariscos

Small place, Food is definitely worth tasting. Even with such a small place, took forever for one of the two servers to come take our order. Parking wasn't an issue over the weekend. Plenty of street parking. The taste is authentic and generous portions. Cons for the location is the waiters are un attentive and lack of serving liquor. Even with those cons, the food was pretty tasty and worth the visit.

Amazing service and food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really enjoyed the different dishes and overall friendliness of the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend the arroz chaufa , inca kola, and alfajores.

She was so excited when she found Cafe Bonjour because they had several gluten-free options on the menu. We took an Uber there right after we landed and were able to walk right in and get a table when they opened, which worked out perfectly because the place started to fill up! It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating inside, and they also had a nice outdoor parklet that would be great in good weather. We asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the cooks in action, which was really fun. The menu had all the classic breakfast favorites like eggs and French toast, along with some lunch options like hamburgers and chicken wraps. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the gluten-free eggs benedict and absolutely loved it. I had the Bonjour omelet, and it was delicious. Overall, this is a fantastic breakfast spot with great food, a fun atmosphere, and solid gluten-free options.

Other than that I'd stop somewhere else for a brunch.

Prior to visiting Boston, I did my research on things to do and places to eat. Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
