The ceviche is so fresh & succulent and the lime juice everything bathes in is tangy and flavorful. The photos do not do justice of showing how much fish & shrimp is nestled inside the bowl, so don't be fooled. Also tried the tamale and chicken fried rice and both were extremely delicious. Make sure you ask for a side of the cilantro sauce they have! Interior is very clean and service is fast & friendly. I love how they use iPads for the menu so you get visuals of all the items to choose from; photos are exquisite!

Fantastic food, feels home cooked meal.

Service is the star here. Ultra friendly professional and quick staff. Plus, not many Peruvian places carry Tamal anymore. This place does, and it has a fantastic one! Salvador de mariscos wad also great. I have to try their ceviches.. Easy plaza parking. Good location. Excellent ambiance. Great prices and portion sizes. Cuisine feels like home cooking. It was perfect.

I love Peruvian food and had struggled finding where to eat this amazing cuisine in Miami. Look no further, this place is amazing. Obviously el lomo saltado and the ceviche are incredible.

I was craving ceviche and I definitely satisfied that craving. The ceviche was fresh, flavorful and a good portion. The chichamorada was also delicious. The side of rice I feel lacked some garlic... I feel when I've had Peruvian rice it has a little more flavor but it paired so well with the ceviches flavors that I really can't complain at all! It was so good I tried to get my mother in law and fiancé to come back with me the next day. Ha ha.

I'm an omakase lover so I know fresh fish when I taste it. Barra Callao is as fresh as it gets. And their small intimate space with the chefs counter makes for a lovely experience that is fun yet relaxed. We looked over the menu and basically wanted everything so we just told the chef to start sending us dishes until we tapped out. And that is what he did. I wish I could say I had a favorite dish but they were all delicious. You really can't go wrong. I'm already going back next week to try the rest of the menu. They don't know it yet, but I'm about to be one of their new regulars.

The dishes were beautifully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a pleasant balance of flavors that let each component shine. Everything we tried was delicious and thoughtfully presented. The only minor disappointment was the lamb chops, which had a noticeable flavor from the gas torch used to finish them, slightly overpowering the meat

Merkado 31 is an amazing Peruvian restaurant addition to the Aventura area!…read more Mercado 31 used to be a different Peruvian restaurant in the Olive Garden/Anthony's shopping center on Biscayne in Aventura and we noticed the name change on the sign at the restaurant a month or so ago. We dined at Mercado 31's location in Miami Beach's North Beach area and went there a few times and always loved it- but we moved from the area and haven't been back. Now we're happy to have a Merkado location closer to us! We went on a weekend evening and were greeted by a restaurant employee and were promptly seated inside. Restaurant host Paola came by our table and offered to assist us and we ordered a bottle of Chardonnay ($30), and they have a variety of other beers, wines, and wine based cocktails, along with non-alcoholic drinks to select from as well. They also bring a little bowl of corn pieces as a snack as well. For an appetizer, we ordered the Papa Huancaina ($9.95), and had a few big slices of potatoes and a delicious sauce! It was plenty big for the two of us to share. For entrees, I ordered the Ceviche a la brasa ($18.95), and had really nice and flavorful cooked fish in an amazing broth and additional mix-ins. It was truly amazing, and very fresh and flavorful. My husband got the Chaufa de carne ($19.95) and he said it was also really good as well. All food was amazing, along with the service. We look forward to returning and mixing the restaurant into our normal mix of restaurants to visit!
