I recently visited Pollos Doña Maria and had a great experience. It's clean and spacious with plenty of booth sitting. Our server, Steven Esteban, provided excellent customer service and made sure we had everything we needed. There is plenty of meal combinations, we started with the chicken empanadas, which were crispy and delicious, and came with a flavorful green sauce. For my entree, I ordered the chicken, beans, and rice it came with two fried ribs. I have never had fried ribs and didn't try it, I would have preferred black beans, but they only serve pinto beans. The chicken was little dry, I added the green sauce to the rice and beans and viola it was good. My friend ordered the shrimp, fries and rice, they added a piece of fish courtesy of Esteban. We ended with cocktails, coconut margaritas. I was pleased with the drinks and the service. I will visit again and explore different menu options. read more

Giving a 1 star, while placing our orders, we specifically noted to the waitress NO PORK, NO BEEF.... She said okay. Give us other options which we went with. While eating I noticed there was pork feet in the beans. Which really got me upset, because we clearly stated to her no pork or beef'. There were no indications of pork feet in the beans. read more

I was there las Friday October 22,2022 and I am very disconnected the food was horrible, everything cold, absent of taste and of very bad quality. My orden was of seafood casserole, grill chicken breast, house salad with avocado, sweet plantains and chicken empanadas.. the waitress was in shame that he apologized many time for the bad experience we left all the food on the table he was asking if we want to pack it but honestly that food was not act for be consumers by any human being. I ordered the #9, which comes with steak, chicchoron, arepa, white rice, red beans, very ripe plaintain (my fave), an egg and green sauce all for $12.95!!!! It was AMAZING!!! The papaya con leche was also very good. The food is made to order. You can taste the season and the "fresh off the stove" goodness. The service wasn't bad either. It's family friendly, good Colombian music, not a huge space, but a decent size. Right off the J train and near two bus lines. I will def come back! read more

The two star standing made no dent in my decision making process to stop in for lunch. Although seated in a prominent location, the patrons within-- were few, to the tune of four. As a side note: Jamaica Ave & Woodhaven Blvd is as big and ad busy an intersection as there is from Queens Blvd all the way to the Belt parkway, not to mention the train that runs above, multiple busses passing through, its a primo location. A gradually heightened ceiling illuminated by red neon-- converging into a light blue sky design gave unique character, only disturbed by the deep aqua booths with roughly treated table tops that sat below. Quite a lot for the sat upon to look as the hours pass without rear ends to mute the illumaniti. Pictures on the walls illustrate an odd fascination for the corpulent. Police officer, ranchero and a porky woman in the bathroom didn't entice much appetite. The $9.95 lunch special started odd well enough but a poor conclusion, much to my chagrin was in play. The 1/4 chicken was tasty, the spate ribs consisted basically of burnt pork fat. The rice and beans was terrible, bland, slimy and hard to get down the hatch. Bland, over priced food but somehow parts of it were super salty. The flavor was so uneven. The maduro had a strange texture to it and very little flavor. The chicken barely had meat on it. I also didn't appreciate the rice much. Nothing to write home about here. I stopped in to grab a quick lunch since I was in the area and they charged me an additional fee for a take out container. The food wasn't even placed in a container, but in a bag. When I addressed this with them, they changed containers instead of refunding what they charged. Everything was disappointing. Been here a few times food is inconsistent and never very good . We got empanadas they were ok one was burnt I mean cremated split open and almost blank on one side . Waiter have up serious attitude about returning it . If I could give this place a 0 I would. First time here, ordered my food to go. The rice was sticky, the beans had some sort of seasoning that smelled like arm pits . My boyfriend ordered bistec encebollado . The only good thing was the onions , the steak was hard and veiny. I ordered the chicharron de pollo and the chicken had the fat when u bit into it. We are not people to throw out food but we threw it all out and just had a ham and cheese after paying this place $35.00. And to add insult to injury I never tipped them and they took it upon themselves to add a $2.00 tip to the bill. MCDONALDS would have been better then this crap. I came here after work with a coworker about 3 years ago the food was so amazing I could not wait to come back but just haven't had the chance to come back until last night.. So my husband ordered the grilled chicken breast with rice and beans. I have no idea what this waiter was doing but he kept on showing me his thigh area and was motioning that it was opened up. So when my husbands food came I look at the chicken and which was clearly not grilled as I showed you guys in the picture. It looked like it was cooked on flat top. It looked super oily and super greasy. So when I address this with the waiter he insisted that it was chicken breast but he still kept on pointing to his thighs. So I said no, it it is boneless chicken thigh evidently I know a thing or two about cooking and I do know that chicken breast is not darker and showed him the chicken breast that I had... clearly both colors were very different.... Ultimately I got tired of telling him that it was not what we ordered the rice and beans were disgusting the beans smelled as if there was a utensil used in seafood use in the beans to stir it up or something.... Honestly the beans smells like tuna I have no idea how that's possible. The rotisserie chicken I had was extremely dry that I just left everything on touched. To get water I had to wave down three waiters one of the waitresses was sitting there with the family showing her pictures from facebook.. My waiter was sweeping the floor while there were several customers there I wonder if that was appropriate,oh gee, I don't think so..... The décor is from an old creepy diner from the early 80's... Definitely never coming back here again only if there was a way to give them a no star I would. I've been coming here since I was a child with my parents.. I come from Colombia and this place takes me back home each time. Amazing quality meats, the rice is the best, and oh man, bandeja con todo is my regular order! Everyone should at least try once if you're a meat lover like me. They also have seafood/breakfast/lunch options... The music takes me back home, and the waitresses are like second mothers to me. So sweet and kind. read more

And man these people do not clean their shrimp... this was my first time trying Columbian food, or any Hispanic food really, I ordered garlic shrimp thinking it was safe. 3 shrimps in and once I noticed the thick black lining of poop, I stopped eating the rest. I threw up everything I ate right outside. Also asked for hot sauce and I got a green spicy sauce which is okay, but I asked for the Sriracha specifically because it was my type of spicy.. and nobody brought it over.
