Working with GLM was hands-down the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. I'm forever grateful that a neighbor recommended them. We had some drainage/waterproofing issues that needed addressed, and when I found out the scope of their skills, we also hired them for a laundry list of things I had on my wish list since moving in a few years ago. These folks did it all for us! For starters, they repaired a brick wall in our front yard, installed a new sump pump drain pipe and exit, re-worked some existing exterior waterproofing that had been done sloppily in the past, and added a new concrete pad and drain by our back door. They even helped us track down an underground gutter leak and replaced the broken pipe. The showpiece job, however, is the stunning stone retaining wall, that they meticulously built by hand, across the back yard along with the new cement parking pad and stamped concrete border tapering it to our existing drive. The pictures don't do it justice (attached is a "before" photo for reference). Everything was done with great care and precision, using high-quality materials. The owner of the company, Deborah, was a gem to work with. She is super-passionate about the environment and the quality of work her company does. We worked with Gerardo and he was also fantastic. He had great ideas and suggestions in terms of practicality and design. He was also flexible with a few adjustments along the way. You can tell that these folks are truly experts in their field and take great pride in their work. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat! read more

Last Spring and Summer, Green Lady Masonry & Drainage Solutions, owned by Deborah Rudolf, performed miracles on our yard. Our front walkway and porch are composed of brick and stone and had needed repointing, cleaning, and sealing for many years. The Green Lady team, headed by Gerardo, did such a beautiful job that people wondered if we had gotten a new walkway. Over the past few years our back yard had developed serious drainage problems. Our vegetable garden was always flooded, the back lawn was so wet that only some kind of strange weedy groundcover would grow there. We had invested in 3 large Yoshino cherry trees, and they were moribund. We are situated on a hillside, and the yard was washing away. The Green Lady team assessed our situation, installed a French drain, two simple drains, and two stone retaining walls. This Spring our cherry trees bloomed, and the trees are looking healthier. The lawn we refurbished last Fall is looking great. Deborah and Gerardo were great to deal with. Pandemic-related issues caused supply problems and many delays for everyone in Summer 2022, but Deborah set up realistic start dates from our first conversations; she didn't over promise to get our business. She kept us informed of schedule revisions as soon as she could, rather than hoping she could meet dates that became impossible. Over the years we've had major delays in projects when companies started earlier than they could realistically attend to a job, and then dragged out the work because they were juggling too many jobs at once. With Green Lady, work started on our walkway sooner than expected and was completed in two days. Once the drainage work started, the team was here every day and completed it quickly. Although Green Lady offered to redo our driveway we would not have given them a second chance even if we had not sold our home and moved away. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so we'll let our pics tell the story of what you might receive if you hire Green Lady. Our concrete driveway was only 3-4 years old and neighbors who had their driveways done the same time by other companies were not showing the disintegration you can clearly see in these pics. Our trust in their business was obsolete after our entire experience with them. For example, after our driveway project started Deborah told us the original quote all parties signed was incorrect and hit us up to pay an additional amount. Since we already paid in full and had waited weeks and months for the job to start we felt we had sunk too much time and money and had no choice but to pay. After we brought attention to the disintegrating surface somehow it was not Green Lady's fault at all, but salt from the roads although we paid extra for them to seal the driveway surface. Deborah generously offered to apply Ardex.....for an additional fee which we ended up paying, but it was applied poorly and only added to the awful appearance of our "new" driveway. We have since moved, but for our new home we will only go with companies that have an A+ rating with BBB. read more

For several months I scheduled estimate after estimate. I had a concrete driveway that had crack and sunk. This caused a major water problem everytime it rained. Green Lady Landscaping is a wonderful woman owned small local business that brings talent, customer service, professionalism, and vision to life in the form of beautiful landscape design and installation. I recently had Deborah Rudolph, owner of Green Lady come out to discuss the landscape in the front of my house. Her enthusiasm for the job as well as her design for a Pennsylvania stacked stone wall addition to the front of my house quite simply sold me. The plans were drawn up, community approval obtained, and a date set for the construction of the wall to begin. The was was constructed on site with each stone carefully laid with hidden mortar to ensure a lifetime of use and beauty. The work was done over the course of about 3 days, with the wall rising approximately 4 feet at the highest point. When she was ready to begin to fill the bed with plants and shrubs, Deborah texted me from nurseries all over northern Virginia sending pictures of the plants that she had found that she felt would look beautiful and thrive in the location in front of my home. She and her employees came with the plants, the flower bed was planted, with Deborah and her staff making good use of my existing plants, and adding beautiful specimens in to add color, height and texture. A secondary bed in front of the house, along with an island in the middle of the yard was created to add balance and color. The yard looks great, the work was timely, and the agreed to budget was kept. I have been in contact with Green Lady since then, and she has stopped by to check on plants, drop off plants and cuttings (at no charge) to fill out my back garden as well. I love the bed, but feel that the true value was working with Green Lady. She listened to what I wanted, the colors I loved, and the amount that I had to spend. Deborah and Gerardo made the experience of investing in our backyard a pleasure rather than a stressor, which is a feat in the current environment. We consulted with Deborah over the phone several times, and Gerardo in person in our yard once before developing a quote/proposal for a patio, walkway, and drainage issues, and signing on the dotted line. Both were responsive, professional, and very easy to work with. There was a waiting period before they contacted us the week/10 days before breaking ground, but it was a week shorter than Deborah had estimated, and not as long as it could have been during COVID. The week before breaking ground, Deborah contacted me by phone and email to walk through what the process would be in terms of utility marking, and walking through with Gerardo before breaking ground. The crew were here for a week, and maintained distance from my family (but welcoming/waving as my kids watched from the windows). They kept a tidy workspace and completed the work on time and at the price quoted. Gerardo took the time/expense to tie the patio and walkways into the existing spaces with matching gravel/extending an additional stepping stone to an existing side path to ensure water would not pool at the edge of the patio. Green Lady Team (Deborah, Geraldo and their team members) did a wonderful job for my yard last week. My house is situated at the bottom of a steep long driveway. All rain water from the above streets flows down to my side yard "killing" grass and causing an unbearable condition. I need an effective solution to tackle the situation. I have consulted many contractors but no one can bring me the comfort assuring the problem would be resolved. I saw the Green Lady team worked in my neighborhood. After speaking with Deborah, my wife and I immediately felt that we should give them a try. They installed an underground drainage pipe system and built a water retaining wall with a stone floor. It is fantastically built not only functional but also artistic. Besides the drainage part, they also planted two Chinese Fringe trees to take care of additional water from other paths. They did such a beautiful job that several of my neighbors have remarked on how pretty it is. The drainage problems I had are permanently fixed. The crew was very professional, finished quickly and cleaned up everything perfectly. I chose not to have her install any plants, but she gave me some recommendations for what to plant and when to do it. Bottomline: Could not be more pleased with the service provided by the Green Lady team. We started this job in SEP15, but ran out of time - so it carried over to this Spring. Just finishing up in APR16. The crew is co-led by Debra and Gerardo. She handles the landscaping and Gerardo the stone masonry/anything else. They have a crew of super employees - work hard, competent, and professional. Debra and Gerardo were terrific in helping to shape the end look for the yard and provided terrific ideas along the way to improve the project throughout. Debra led the interaction with us and helped inform us with the relevant information we needed to make decisions. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and accessible. Some specifics: Initially they took out two large trees that had outgrown our property and a bunch of boxwoods. The work was done professionally and they pulled out the roots to preclude any future issues. During the root extraction two of the pipes for my sprinkler system were damaged and they fixed them quickly. Also, I live on a slope and my yard gets swamped, so they put some PCV pipes on the downspouts to allow the water to funnel directly to the forest behind my house. Its noticeably different now it terms of the water saturation in the soil. Next, they did the construction and built two front walls, which look terrific. Then they planted the shrubs and other plants. I'm very happy with the finished product (and my wife is very happy we got rid of the two trees and boxwoods in the front yard). I challenge anyone to find a better product out there. If you're looking for a superior product at great price (that's what I call best value) I recommend you give Debra a call. You won't be disappointed. Meh. Seems to have changed owners or managers. No consistency at all. All the things we discussed were not included despite extensive discussion and assurances that it was included in the abbreviated contract. Crew left lots of damage to my property that were supposed to be repaired and weren't, plus they left bags and bags of trash and took a bunch of my own materials to finish the job. Worst was the crew complaining every day they were not being paid a living wage - what was I supposed to do when the owner was taking half of the price paid? Unreliable, and wasted my time. I engaged with several landscapers with varying degree of success. Green Lady stands out as the most unreliable one. I had an email exchange and a couple of phone conversations with Deborah and she came across as less interested in understanding my needs than communicating how proficient and busy their business was. However I did not want to rush to judgement. Then came the matter of scheduling an appointment to visit and understand what I needed done. Again I was very flexible with my schedule, taking it on face value that they are busy and worked to accommodate them. I even got a calendar appointment confirming their visit, which I thought was nice and professional. However on the day of the appointment, I took time off from work, and no one showed up.
