We were driving through Denver on our way to Wichita, KS. Used the Yelp app to find a restaurant, and this was it. We arrived early, before dinner time, so the place wasn't busy. The menu was quite extensive and the gal that served us was timely, friendly and helpful. Our food was amazing and delicious. Pasta was cooked to perfection. Food came out steaming hot and the garlic bread knots were to die for. The restaurant is not a fancy place or in a high traffic area but I highly recommend that you check them out. Their pizzas must be outstanding, too, because all the while we were there, folks kept streaming in to pickup their phone orders. Few tables, quite intimate and nicely put together. read more

The ambiance is that of a small neighborhood Italian restaurant with red and white checkered tablecloths. The service is excellent and the pasta dishes are prepared to perfection. The spicing and slightly dente to perfection noodles are delivered piping hot to your table with amazing creamy pesto or tomato basil sauce. My wife and I have been at Children's Hospital (7 minute drive away from this restaurant) with our son for days and needed something different than the areas fast food offerings. What a delight ! Food was fabulous (gluten free for my wife), the atmosphere was quaint and felt authentically Italian. We had carbonara, gluten free spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic knots. The portions were incredible with plenty of leftovers and the food was the best Italian that we've had in a long time. Perhaps since our last visit to Italy. The service was over the top special. The hostess, who I spoke first with over the phone was positive and helpful, then when we arrived I had a brief conversation with her and she expressed care for our hospitalized son. Posting this on my husband's account since I don't have one. The BEST Alfredo sauce we've ever had. Ever. Pizza was good, but oh my goodness--the PASTA is perfection. The owners (husband and wife) do the cooking and serving. Service is excellent, food is even better. Authentic Italian, pasta was perfectly al dente. My only regret is that I did not have two stomachs to keep eating. Portion sizes were huge-you could get two full meals out of the chicken parmigiana. Garlic knots served with the pasta were great. They could easily move their store a few miles west and charge double the prices, it is that good. Didn't get pictures because we dug in when the food came, but the pictures already posted are accurate pictures of the food. So good!!! Ordered takeout pep and pineapple with ricotta, and the mozzarella sticks. My fiancé was impressed as well and she's harder to please with pizza. The crust had a nice crisp to it and the marinara was awesome! Had chunks of tomato in it. The interior is fresh and clean, they did a great job when making it their own. This place is ridiculous, u can get a large Hawaiian (2 toppings for $21.50 or a supreme which has 5 toppings for $23.49. But a one topping pepperoni $24.48. Makes absolutely no sense. If u want a create your own you would be better off ordering one of their pizzas substitute what you want. FYI when I asked about it the owner told me that the pizzas on the menus are pre made, so if you want a pre made pizza that has been sitting there for hours order from this place. If you want a fresh made pizza you are going to pay out the a$$. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

Pizza is great but be sure to read the pricing on the menu before ordering if choosing your own toppings. Specialty pizzas are much cheaper than build your own style. For example 18" supreme is $22.99 with six toppings but if you were to build your own 6 topping 18" it would cost you roughly $47.00. We ordered a half and half pizza with two different toppings on each half and were charged the full price for each individual topping came out to $38.00 for XL pizza. Good pizza we just can't afford I guess. read more

BEST CALZONES WE EVER HAD! The crust was amazing. We told the waitress and she said the dough is made fresh every morning. The ingredients for the calzone as well as the salad were very fresh...like they had a garden to pick from right there. We each had the Mediterranean calzone which we both enjoyed. The atmosphere is casual with a smile. It's a family owned business. Turns out the waitress and chef are both owners. On the wall proudly hangs a critique of a different Denver Italian restaurant. When I asked why they were marketing for this restaurant the wife of the chef proudly said that's where her husband worked before starting their own restaurant. Anyone who has been in Denver long enough will immediately know the restaurant referred to hanging on the wall. This new restaurant surpasses the quality of the landmark restaurant hanging on the wall. It's amazing! Also, it's not one of those fancy restaurants that charge an arm and a leg for its ambiance. Passing through Denver and we wanted to try something unique and local. Searched it up and found this place. It looked promising and had great reviews. We rolled up to discover that it's located in a rather nondescript little strip of shops. Nothing fancy about it. Free parking right out front. Inside, we found the requisite four-top tables with red and white checkered table cloths and we noticed a few travel posters on the walls. We'd read that the pizza is great but the pasta is ever better so we tried the basics: a Margarita pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. The advice we'd received was right on the money. Nice big pizza with fresh tomatoes and absolutely glorious pasta. The meatballs were out of this world. I really can't say enough about the pasta. If this is what you're in the mood for then I say just stop reading right now and head on over (they have plenty of options besides the basic spaghetti and meatballs). While eating, we chatted up our neighbors to learn that they stop in regularly. They moved to Denver from New York and they described the food at Pomodoro's as being very similar to what they enjoyed back home. Turns out, my soda was $3.50 and I was shocked to discover that refills were not free. But we were there on September 19, 2022, and in the intervening two weeks I have not thought about that even once until right now. Instead, all I can think about is the pasta! Very unassuming look from the outside but inside is clearly newly renovated and has the ambience of a family Italian kitchen.
