I ordered a yellow three layer cake with cherry filling (Moms favorite) and chocolate buttercream frosting. The flavor was outstanding. The cake itself was moist without being gummy, the frosting was to die for, and the cherry filling wasn't too sweet. It was a perfect cake. Best one yet! My only critic, and it's a very slight one, is the edible butterflies they placed on the cake looked cheap. I removed them prior to serving. I'll be back for her 100th birthday celebration next year!

I have ordered from this restaurant three times in the last three months, and I have decided that just like in baseball, three strikes and you're out. First of all, when you walk into the place, you see dust and filth on the walls, a sure sign the owner is not all too conscientious about cleanliness. If the area the customers see looks like the inside of a vacuum cleaner bag, I hate to think of what the kitchen must look like. The first time I ate in the restaurant section, I order a rigatoni a la vodka dish. The vodka sauce looked like orange mud, and gave me indigestion for the rest of the evening. The second time I ordered a take out pizza and a sausage and peppers hero. I specifically said to make the pizza rare and the sausage well done. Regrettably, they got the order backwards, burning the pizza and giving me sausage that was still pink on the inside. The third chance I gave these characters was another take out order. They told me it would be ready in twenty minutes. I got there thirty minutes later and the order still was not ready. The woman behind the counter was ready though, to take my money and then go on to help every other customer who came into the restaurant rather than go to the kitchen to get my order. When I complained that she owed me the courtesy of checking on my order before she served any other customers, the manager came over and told me I was wrong for complaining, instead of apologizing for being too cheap to hire enough staff to serve his customers. Poor food and even worse service, that's the bottom line about Pompei Restaurant. There are at least four other fine Italian Pizzerias and Restaurants in the Rocky Point area - Pazzo, Branchinelli's, Wading River Pizzeria and Rocky Point Pizza all come to mind. I will be using those four from now on, I will not subject myself to either the indigestion or aggravation that goes along with ordering at Pompei. I recommend that you do the same. read more

Pompei is one of my favorite restaurants to go to with my family. They have excellent food, the environment is comfortable and friendly. I go there with my family and my favorite dish is penne ala vodka, my husband loves the buffalo wings and my kids are great fans of the spaghetti and meatballs and mozzarella sticks. There food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I have honestly, in all of my years (at least 6 years) going to pompei never had an issue with anything. I always know exactly where to go for great food and this restaurant has been our favorite. I will continue going here as I, my children and my family love it. We have always gotten take out here as well, the eggplant parm slice is a favorite of mine along with everything else. Very Delicious! read more

My family recently had a catering order from Pompeii and I had to write a review I eat there maybe three times a month and always thought it was a great place to get dinner but after hosting the Christmas dinner every body bragged and wondered where I got the foodeverything was cooked perfect from the chicken Parmesan ~fried calamari we also got an eggplant dinner which came out tasty and very moist I was very happy that we chose Pompeii to do our Christmas dinner and would recommend everybody to go there and give them a try I must also add that there tomato sauce was the tastiest I've had in a long time being from an Italian background we are very picky on our food and I am happy that Pompeii was our choice for Christmas dinner read more

I cant say enough about this place. I take my wife and kids here all the time. The kids play softball right by here and always after the game we go for pizza for the kids and dinners for the adults. It is always more than tasty. The portions are huge and more than enough to share. I particularly like the chicken scarparella and my wife is a big fan of the shrimp parmigiana. It is uncommon to find places that make a great parm dinner so finding this place was like a gem in the rough. My two kids love the pizza and pepperoni garlic knots. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to us. Being that we usually come in with a large group, they are always more than accommodating to us which is great. read more

This place has the best dinners! There penne ala vodka and shrimp parm is awesome. Chicken parm is a favorite as well. My family comes here all the time even with our hectic schedules, this is one of our favorite places to come. Its a very welcoming place and there portions are very big. My kids sometimes also get slices which they always love. We can never go wrong with the pepperoni garlic knots! I disagree with past reviews, they are wonderful at pompei and there food is worth the wait if they are ever short staffed with waitresses for what ever reason. read more

Delicious! By far my favorite Italian restaurant! I go here with my family and the atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. The food is always fresh and the portions are huge. I love the chicken mona lisa, chicken parm, shrimp parm. We also get the penne pesto and penne ale vodka very often. My husband loves the buffalo wings. The pizza is always delicious. It is my favorite pizza place! It's a great environment if you're looking for a sit down dinner with your friends or family. It's also good for just walking in and sitting down for a quick bite. The pizza is very fresh with a great variety of toppings to choose from. Their other Italian dishes are fantastic as well. This place has great pizza. I use to live in Brooklyn before I moved out to Suffolk and I have to say they have the best slices I've had in suffolk since I moved. The grandma slice is awesome so is the stuff meat slice. I have gotten dinner here a bunch of times and enjoy the penne a la vodka. Really awesome food . I've eaten at Pompei regularly for the past 6 years. My family is by far the pickiest eaters and never has there ever been one complaint when any dish or pizza from Pompei is served for dinner. The tomato sauce is awesome and whenever I walk through the door the owners and staff always make me feel like part of the family.
