    FETTUCCINE CON POLLO
    Karina M.

I came here for dinner with my husband after finding parking in a lot near by. We were promptly seated and after mulling over the many tasty looking options ordered the Caesar salad, fettucine con pollo, and a build your own pizza with pesto, black olives, garlic, and tomatoes. My husband also had a couple of glasses of wine. We were also quickly served some complimentary bread that came with a dipping sauce that I couldn't really identify but was tasty! They were nice enough to split the salad and pasta for us so that way we each got our own plate of salad and pasta and avoided any messy spills or sauce flying. I thought this was so nice and considerate. The pasta was a standout for us with tons of chicken and the tomatoes and mushrooms complimented the sauce so well. We will definitely be back!

Pompeii is a quaint Italian restaurant in the heart if downtown Los Altos. My friends and I came here to grab a quick bite and we loved it. The service was friendly and quick is assist and check in with us. The food was delicious! The pizza was packed full of flavor and had a nice crust. We also tried the pesto ravioli and it was divine!

This is a small family friendly restaurant. The lamb shank was very flavorful and enjoyable! I also really liked their bread with eggplant, sun dried tomatoes, and garlic oil dip. The steak tasted just okay, too charred and wasn't very enjoyable. Overall it was a good dinner.

ZUPPA DI COZZE - Steamed mussels with tomatoes, basil, white wine & light marinara
    Pavel R.

I can't say enough good things about Pompeii. This charming family neighborhood restaurant has been a staple in Los Altos for about 20 years. The interior is simple but nice. During my recent visit, I had the ZUPPA DI COZZE which was steamed mussels with tomatoes, basil, white wine & light marinara and the minestrone soup, both of which were great! The mussels were perfectly cooked, and the broth was full of flavor. The minestrone was hearty and comforting--the perfect start to the meal. We usually stick to our favorites: their pizza, Insalata Pompeii, and pasta with Bolognese sauce, and they never disappoint. The pizza is freshly made, the salad is a nice mix of crisp greens and tangy dressing, and the Bolognese is rich and satisfying. The service here is consistently attentive, making you feel like part of the family. Whether you're dining in or picking up takeout, you can always expect a warm welcome and delicious food.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Simple, delicious Italian food. The lamb shank was very tender and the polenta was not perfectly creamy but still good. The spaghetti carbonara had a good flavor and texture. I had the best carbonara in Florida years ago, 3 nights in a row and I have not found a place that has made it as well. The gnocchi was pretty light and fluffy then drowned in a heavy Gorgonzola sauce which is a good thing. I enjoyed it. My favorite here has been the capellini pomodoro. We had the chocolate desserts with mochas and cappuccino. One was a chocolate tartufolo and the other a molten chocolate cake. They were not huge and super sweet. It was nice to try. The service is nice and prompt. The restaurant is clean and nice. Pictures on the wall. No tv. Indoor & outdoor seating. There was a steady stream of couples in and out. I would come back if I had a craving for Italian food. The flavors and taste to me is very authentic.

Great location in downtown Los Altos. Indoor/Outdoor seating. Nice efficient service. Easy street parking. Veal parm is one of my favorite eats. so that's what I ordered. Table also had the calamari appetizer, pizza and gnocchi. Everything was very good, not great, but good. Calamari was lightly breaded and very tasty. Best dish of the night. The veal was a little tough and lacking flavor. 4*. Gnocci was OK 4*. For the price we paid, not a great value. A fun night out with decent food.

I work close by and eat here often. They are the best every time. Today I made a custom pizza pesto, pancetta, tomatoes, garlic, and pine nuts.

When I crave for Italian, I always think of Pompeii. I ordered a linguine Alle vongoe , I really like it. The sauce is not too watery and it's flavorful. The linguine was relative Al dente. We also ordered the fried calamari and it was really good. Some place made them where battered came loose, some place made it too oily. This place get it done right. It's still my go to Italian restaurant.

Mani mani on artichokes with polenta and vegetables.

Just went to a birthday party in the small room on the left. The food and service was impressive. They came out with appetizers very quickly--calamari and bruschetta, while we were looking at the menu. I ordered the mani mani special--grilled over artichokes and capers, polenta and veggies. It came out hot and was so delicious. Everyone else loved their choices too. The fusilli primavera was real pretty and tasty. The desserts were equally as wonderful. Ire o. End the Limoncello and decaf coffee. Can't wait to go back.

This is a great spot if you're looking for a quick slice or a full pie. I haven't ordered a whole pizza yet, but judging by the massive boxes stacked near the oven, they're huge. The slices are the real highlight. A cheese slice is around $6.50, while specialty slices like the combo run about $8. The slices are enormous, loaded with toppings, and served hot and fresh after a short wait. I've tried both the combo and cheese slices, and both were excellent. The combo slice was so filling that I ended up taking my cheese slice home for my wife. I also appreciate the consistency, these last two visits so far has delivered the same large portions and generous toppings. They offer more than just pizza too, including sandwiches, salads, and I believe calzones. While it doesn't quite have the exact New York flavor I'm used to from visits to the Big Apple, the huge slices, fresh ingredients, friendly service, and great value keep me coming back. I've already visited twice in the last two weeks and will definitely be back again.

Four locations total so you have NO excuse not to visit one! The first thought when I walked in? Memories. The Mtn View location is a lot smaller than the original restaurant, a handful of tables inside and a nice covered patio outside. But that music playing? Thats what brought back so many great memories here. That old Italian Crooner and ballads that reminded me of so many late night evenings back in the 90's. A late night go to when we were hungry and wanted a solid Italian restaurant. I decided that on this first visit back (it had been at least 4 years since my last visit) I'd try all the dishes I used to order. - Calamari lightly breaded with a side of tartar and cocktail sauce. Fried perfectly and my son finished the whole dish. - Sausage Bread the signature dish I could never forget. A meal within itself. Sausage and cheese rolled between soft pillows of dough. Comes with marinara sauce. This is THE dish you must try for sure! - Steamed Clams I ate this as my main meal. Clams in a light wine, lemony broth. You can also order a variation with tomato and herb sauce instead. - Spaghetti & Bolognese my son loved this. Simple & full of flavor. Its obvious they simmer their sauce for hours which shoes in their deep red pasta sauce. - Lasagna the sauce is a bit spicy so if you like spicy this is perfect for you. - Brownie A la Mode with or without nuts. Came with two huge slices and was bigger than we needed. But we did try to eat it! If you like cakey brownies this one will hit the spot. - Spumoni Gelato topped with whipped cream and a cherry. This was gone before I could even sneak a bite. - Aperol Spritz balanced and perfect for a warm day. Two will work! Parking was easy there is an outside lot right behind the restaurant and a parking garage a few steps away. Same friendly service, same family owned business. Exactly what I love! When our server mentioned the special, it sounded too good to pass up so I ordered that & had a slice of my husband's pizza that was loaded with kielbasa, pepperoni & bell peppers. The dough had good flavor, good crust & wasn't too thick. I thought they topped it too much so it was sort of flimsy. My pasta was delicious, plenty of shrimp, scallops & clams in a flavorful white wine sauce over fettuccine. The food came out nice & hot, we definitely had leftovers from the pizza & pasta. Our server was very attentive & friendly. There were a lot of guests dining outside, including us so he was busy but we didn't wait too long for anything. Will definitely be back & would highly recommend to those wanting to try a new Italian restaurant. The outdoor seating is cute and pretty spacious.

The girlfriend tried both the wild mushroom truffle oil pizza and also the regular mushroom pizza. She said they were pretty good, but wished you could get the wild mushroom blend on the regular pizza without the truffle oil (which she found a little overpowering). Picking up the pizza was a little weird, they had this locker thing near the front of the store where you put in a code (I think it was the last four digits of my phone number) and it opened the slot with your pizza.
