Looking for delicious breakfast place in the downtown of Los Altos - Village Pantry serves a variety of delicious breakfast options including egg Benedict, omelette, pancakes and waffles. Also, they serve a variety of lunch options including club sandwiches, burgers specials with sautéed onion, and mushroom and more. Fresh homemade soups and salad dressing. Weekend specials (e.g., golden brown fish and chips, blueberries crape, and crab cakes salad) are available. Village Pantry cares about their customers and serves their customers the best way possible. Enjoy beautiful patio dining experience to start your day.

Courteous wait staff. Enjoyed their outdoor patio which is dog friendly. Menu offered a good variety of items. I had the San Francisco Eggs Benedict. The sauce was tasty but I didn't expect imitation crab meat. Although real crab meat would have been nice, the price was very reasonable (so I should have known they wouldn't use real crab meat). Definitely a great place for weekend brunch. The outdoor garden area was very welcoming. It was quite busy during this time but I did get seating right away. Would love to come back and try other things on their menu. Street parking and public parking lots are available nearby.

This place has been in los Altos downtown forever. We stopped by because my fiancé was in the mood for breakfast. He ordered the chicken fried steak and he thought it was just okay. He thought it tasted like something from Costco. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. The menu said it was smoked salmon but it turned out to be hot smoked salmon. Service is very courteous but the food is just okay. Items were also kind of expensive

My wife and I consistently come to Cap't Loui for our beloved Friday date nights at least once a month. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the yummy food (we always get 2lbs shrimp/2lbs crawfish combo in Medium Cap't Loui sauce with garlic noodles, garlic bread, and Cajun fries). Wifey and I are stuffed after this but will cleanse our palate with complimentary popsicles in the freezer by the entrance. So yes, the seafood boil and food is absolutely phenomenal. But even MORE impressive is the generationally excellent customer service, in particular from Aung and Edward. They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!!

I've been walking pass their shop many times in Cupertino, a small shop on a clean street next to an underground parking lot. First off, our lunch hour was at 11:45, but by 10:45'sh, food was ready and the catering staff was already working on setting it up. I had fresh salad of tomato and cucumber, seafood boiler with shrimp, and garlic noodle. We ran out of Clam Chowder real quick, so I didn't get to it. The salad was fresh, both tomato and cucumber slices gave this crispy and refreshing taste. Our menu has Seafood Boiler with Shrimp and Veggie Boiler Mix with Fried Tofu, they look like the same sauce, so I chose Shrimp and it was a very wise choice! The sauce was so rich that the shrimps were full of flavors! I am never a fan of peeling shrimps but they are easy to peel, even with my mouth biting them off gently is not that hard. Their garlic noodle is not the same as the Vietnamese kind, it's pasta in garlic sauce, so not the best but acceptable. Overall the shrimps really wow me.

I came by to browse the food fare variety in hopes of an early lunch to beat the crowds. This was one that didn't have much of a line. Ordered the beer battered halibut and fries at the main window. The gentleman pointed off to the side and said food would be out the other window in a few minutes. Well, it was a bit confusing since the other window was covered up by some dark fabric and we didn't see anyone else get their order for a while. I circled the truck just to make sure there wasn't some other magical window hidden on the other side. After a bit, they started handing out orders in one big batch. I guess they were trying to prepare multiple orders at once before handing them out. Beer Battered Halibut & Fries ($16) The box came with 3 small pieces of fried fish and a handful of thick cut fries. The food was all hot while I was grateful for. There were packets of ketchup and a little cup of mayo/tartar sauce as well. That said, the fish looked and tasted like what you can get in bulk frozen from Costco, which I understand some restaurants and food trucks do. For the steep $16 price though, I was expecting better quality and a greater quantity. This could easily pass as a kids meal rather than an adult meal. It'd be great if they could be more generous with the fries given starch is cheap or up the quality of the fish. Even just 2 pieces of hand battered, sizeable fish would be a huge improvement. If not, then I hope they consider reducing the price a bit to match what customers get. If you're craving good fish & chips, this may not be the place for you.

As simple as it is, you can't find good fresh fried food everywhere and I was never disappointed. The fish? Fresh and served with seems to be homemade tartar sauce which is also delicious. The zucchini? It's hard to find places that don't over cook it or undercook it with the zucchini still being somewhat raw and like I've said I've never been disappointed. The owner/cook is very accommodating as I like to tweak my order wherever I go, I have no problem paying extra. His attitude might not be for everyone but i my opinion he's just in his mode as he's usually very busy. I will be on the lookout next time I'm in his area.
