We came here our first night on vacation from Montana and had a great time. It was one of the only places in the winter season (April 11th). We loved getting to know our bartender Jewel. Just thought I'd add a little update to my last review. Just had the Hawaiian pizza and it was delicious. Stopped to charge my car again for the third time as I drove through this area in the last week. I got to tell you I love the people that work here and the atmosphere and the food. If I lived here in the area, I would hang out here all the time. Good food, good company, and good prices. The owner should know that having that charger across the parking lot has brought in $100 of business in the last week that never would've stopped here if it weren't for those chargers...... Initially our party of six was pleased. My wife and I ordered a bison burger to split with a side salad. The burger and fries were good...although a little small serving. The house salad was tasteless with kinda rubbery texture. Our adult beverages were good. I didn't realize it until after we left, but $26 to split a bison burger and $9 for the house salad was not a keeper. It was odd the bison burger charge was higher than listed on the menu? I should have called them out on the charge listed on the bill. Also.... Couldn't help notice that Ponds also has the highest gasoline price in the Island Park area. Family and I were staying in the area decided to stop in for dinner when we returned to our cabin. Some of the reviews had me a little Leary but we decided to give it a shot. Nice size place with plenty of sports on tv and awesome seating. Waiter was prompt and got our orders quickly. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Those of us with burgers enjoyed them. I needed a salad so got that for my side and all the ingredients were very fresh. Daughter had the Spicy Chicken Pasta and liked it. My burger was something new for me. Ponds Lodge was the perfect place to unwind over pints after days of hiking in the nearby parks. We stopped in for beers when we were done hiking around Harriman SP, which was beautiful and not crowded. Ponds has a lot of taps and I had an excellent huckleberry Hefeweizen and Kris had the Hazy Ranger. We had so much fun here we returned for beers and carryout pizza this time. Our rental was conveniently nearby in Island Park. Pizza night success. Good pies and better beer make Dan a happy man. read more

During our 5 night vacation to Yellowstone we ate at Ponds Lodge twice. The first night I had their pizza and potato skins and my friend had the bison meatloaf. The pizza was AMAZING as were the potato skins (I mean, it's Idaho, right?). My friend also enjoyed his meatloaf and even talked about it a few days after the trip because it was so good. The second night my friend and I split a pizza and also ordered the pretzels. They must make the pretzels and the cheese sauce there because they were out of this world! So tasty! What really set this restaurant apart from the rest was the service. Our server was attentive, super friendly, and took the time to chat with us when she wasn't busy. She was telling us about Yellowstone and gave us some info on her background, which was super interesting. read more

Great service. Great food. We were seated immediately on a busy Saturday night. They have several TVs and you can choose the station you want to watch. Katelin was a good server. We ordered a beet/goat cheese/candied pecans salad with balsamic vinaigrette and a wedge salad with bacon/bleu cheese crumbles/red onions and bleu cheese dressing for appetizers then a large deluxe pizza with pepperoni/sausage/black olives/mushrooms/green peppers/red onions for dinner. Upon arrival they took away my water cup and while we were waiting for our food, it was very cold right under the vent, so we moved to another table that didn't have a cold vent blowing down on us. My daughter got the kids hamburger and they forgot the tomato and onion we asked for but that's ok. Hubby got the fish and chips and he said it was alright. Location: it's so inconspicuous that we drove to the back to make sure we weren't missing the entrance. But there is a "take out" neon sign out front. Wow! The food is absolutely delicious. Their pizza is so good. We ordered the grizzly, Hawaiian, and pepperoni. We loved them all. Went back a second time and ordered hot wings, potato wedges, French fries, grilled cheese, a bowl of chili and some other plates. All were delightful. Worst food experience in a while. We're in town on a trip we take with friends every year and stopped in for some takeout food. First, there was nobody in the restaurant and the blonde server scolded us for waiting inside for our food and kicked us out. We sat on the cement for over 20 min for our food. But the person who was in charge of the takeout counter changed and the second person had no idea we even ordered or what was going on. Then, we had our food on a picnic and multiple things were wrong. There was no cheese on the cheeseburger. We were given no condiments. Given no napkins or silverware and we had a salad to eat. And to top it off, there was a piece of PLASTIC in the pot pie. Absolutely awful experience all around. Oh and overpriced. This is Idaho, not New York City. read more

Its breaks my heart to give this review! This was always a place I made sure I stopped at, for obvious reasons. Every visit I made sure to buy swag, fuel, snacks, and recommend to all of my friends and family....I had planned my bachelor party around this lodge April 25, 2024. We came down and entered this location with not a soul in sight other than the bartenders, hosts, and ourselves. We made our way to the bar and were laughed at firstly for asking if they carried our beers we were familiar with. Followed by a very rude waitress that was incredibly rude for an empty bar. We were a party of 15 people with an average tab this whole weekend of 1500.00$ per meal! I was so excited to bring family and friends to this spot and was upset that we all felt the same degree of disrespect and politely exited the restaurant without spending a dime. read more

My boyfriend and I went on a road trip and found this gem on our way to Yellowstone National Park. We stopped there to have a late dinner before we continued to our final destination. When we got there it was quite late but we were welcomed by our server Bianca who's such a sweetheart. The food came out quite fast which was amazing because we were starving. We ordered the bison and pork tenderloin dishes and it was DELICIOUS! The next day after spending all day hiking in the park we hit the small town right outside Yellowstone and explored the stores. The place was extremely cute and they did have many food options there but we just couldn't forget about our last meal and decided to jump into the car and drive half an hour back to Ponds Lodge for dinner. This time we got there early but there was a huge line and we had to wait 15min to be seated which was not too bad considering the length of the line. Luckily, Bianca was our server again for the night and she immediately recognized us and even remembered that we preferred water without ice! She was generally very attentive, fast and professional. Restaurants. Have. Menus. Seriously, nobody wants to QR games when they're hungry. We were staying nearby, and decided to plan to get dinner here, since they said they were open late (had to ask, closing hours weren't posted). Came in, were seating fairly quickly, and there it was,... that ridiculous QR code on the table. Asked for menus, only to be informed that they have none. How do you have a restaurant without menus? We're seriously supposed to use our phones? Super convenient. So much easier to decide when looking at a tiny screen vs. a full size menu. If we hadn't been pretty hungry, I would have just walked out. The waitress even offered to let me look at it on her phone, which was still just as ridiculous. They did have their menu up on one of the tv's, so opted to stare at that. Luckily, our table was kind of close. Had to watch it for ages to decide, since it scrolled by way too fast. Ordered a couple of burgers, only to play twenty questions with the waitress about ketchup, etc. (not blaming her, we didn't give her a hard time about it, and left a decent tip). Food took a bit longer than it should have, considering the place wasn't very busy. Got to watch the antics as a whole table tried to get the QR thing to even work, leading to their waitress having to take a customer's phone and try and make the thing work. Passing a phone around, doesn't that defeat the purpose? We just looked at each other and giggled at the absurdity. Burgers came, along with condiments in little fast food packets, like it's 2020 all over again. Fries needed salt, but of course, the bare table circa 2020 had no salt. Burgers weren't bad, fries were okay. Tomato slice on mine looked like it had been hacked with a machete. Two burgers, a coke, and a beer came to a little over $50. That's pretty much to be expected in a tourist area. But... for that amount, you also expect little things like, I don't know... menus? Salt and pepper? Ketchup? Our recent travels this year have taken us all the way down to Las Vegas, and as far north as Stanley and Salmon, and this is the ONLY place that is still doing this silliness. Get some menus. Put the ketchup BACK on the table. NOBODY wants to play phone games or log onto your unsecured wifi. It's over. No offense to the staff, they were friendly and tried to help, it's not their fault the management is apparently attached to this dumb idea, but I would certainly not eat there again until they catch up and drop the silliness. read more

We are from out of state camping here at Idaho sand dunes, we all drove our side-by-side's off-road over 55 miles to get here (there was about 30 of us) everyone was exhausted, starving and ready to spend a lot of money on good food and drinks! So there is a gas station adjoining all this "restaurant" literally with open shared windows and doors between the two, same owner. We spent at least $500 in fuel and snacks at the gas station, then go to the adjoining pizza place to be greeted by a blonde "Karen" with a half shaven head and an even uglier attitude! She started off by literally kicking out my 10-year-old niece, making her sit outside (in the rain) and cry... all because she was eating a bag of chips that she purchased from their adjoining gas station! The pizza was actually decent... Up until the "Karen" waitress (which we found out is taking over the business) and the owner both waited until all of our food was served and then decided to force us all to leave (in the middle of a huge hail/rain storm) simply because we bought stuff from their adjoining store and brought the bags into THEIR ADJOINING restaurant... we had even tied the plastic bags into knots, not even touching it but were still kicked out for absolutely no reason! We are all business owners in our group and we know when people truly deserve to be kicked out but we literally did NOTHING wrong, we spent over $1000 between all of us at this pizza place and absolutely did not deserve to get kicked out! The owner was just as horrible as the "Karen" waitress... Making our children cry and kicked us out in the middle of a bad storm... when there are literally only two other paying customers in the whole restaurant! Not great business sense, horribly ran!!! This place is terrible. Completely empty and our group was not aloud to sit at the bar where we wanted to sit and have a drink. They have no menus only the stupid QR codes and way over priced! I've been coming to Island Park for 30 years and have seen many restaurants come and go. Many times you have to take what you can get as far as quality, freshness and deliciousness off the food. I was so pleasantly surprised! The environment is fun and new and clean, our server was adorable, our wedge salad was perfect and delicious. Our Doc Holiday burger was delicious, high quality, big portions!
