Had a bad experience here a couple years ago. Brought a vehicle in with a tire that was losing air. They put air in it and they charged me 50 bucks for air. I vowed to never return. Today I woke up to a flat tire. The day before I noticed a chunk out of my passenger front fire. I took it to Mike's Tire anf two technicians looked at it and said it was completely fine. I believed them and thanked them for their time. Clearly, it was not okay. I drive this vehicle for Uber so passenger safety is very important to me. I called Mike's to let thrm know ow what happened and the guy could care less, tried to sell me a tire, and gave no apologies. Called Pono,they looked at inventory found a used tire and got me in immediately. They were very friendly and the swap only took 15 minutes. I have new found respect for Pono Tires. I initially came to this shop to do a tire rotation on my truck. I arrived around 9:15am and they were able to take me in immediately. When I got there the worker informed me there was a nail in my front tire and walked me over to show me. So I opted to get all my tires changed. To change all 4 of my trucks A/T tires it was 1,200 and I was in and out in less than an hour, which was awesome because I had my 3 young children with me. Overall I had an awesome experience, the workers communication was excellent and their ability to provide the necessary work in a timely manner is a plus. Will definitely be back. read more

I got a tire patched here a few months ago and got my tires rotated and balanced the other day. The patch on my tire has held great and my car drives noticeably better after getting the tires re-balanced. The staff was friendly, helpful, and the prices at pono tires are more than fair. Pono tires on republican street is a highly recommended business I definitely would return to if I need any tire issues. To start I needed two front tires for my Honda Odyssey van. I first tried to go to discounted tire outlets Sam's club and Costco with no luck, just the options of ordering it and waiting 2-3 weeks or pay extra for shipping and get it within 4-5 days. Tried Pono, the girl looked at the size on my vehicle and said we have it. Though it was previously used, it was a go ahead for me when you need it right away! The tires are great, with a lot of more miles that will be put on them! I was given a speed balance and installation for just over $80. per tire. Plus a (1) year warranty. I am very pleased at Pono, and if I ever get into a situation like this again, I will check Pono (Hawaiian) tire company. I had a tire that needed to be replaced ASAP on a Saturday morning, and every place I called either didn't have the tire I needed in stock until Monday or couldn't do it until later in the day. I googled and found this place and spoke to the owner and not only did they have the tire in stock, they were able to accommodate me right away. I live in Makiki (they are located in Kalihi) and it literally took less than 45 minutes from the time I left my house, got to the business and got the tire replaced (they were waiting for me). I was very impressed with the service @Pono tires. I ordered 2sets of tires for 2 different cars was just replacing the rear tires and they were able to fill the order the next day as they wernt in stock. At a price that was way cheaper than other tire places I got 4 new tires for just over $600 bucks was over $1200 at competitor's. The service was excellent and at this price I decided to also do the fronts on one car. They got the tires in a few hours so i got 6 total tires still cheaper than 4 anywhere else!
