Today I woke up to a flat tire. The day before I noticed a chunk out of my passenger front fire. I took it to Mike's Tire anf two technicians looked at it and said it was completely fine. I believed them and thanked them for their time. Clearly, it was not okay. I drive this vehicle for Uber so passenger safety is very important to me. I called Mike's to let thrm know ow what happened and the guy could care less, tried to sell me a tire, and gave no apologies. Called Pono,they looked at inventory found a used tire and got me in immediately. They were very friendly and the swap only took 15 minutes. I have new found respect for Pono Tires. Excellent work.

Beware of bait and switch from this business…read more Years back, I went to a tire shop on sand island (Mikole St) and didn't like how I was serviced there. I had a slow leak and told a plug was $10. An hour later, I was charged $26 ($1 dollar tax) because the guy said a patch was better. He didn't give me the option to make that decision. After running a whole bunch of potholes after this Kona Low storm, I have a slow leak again in one of my tire. Not sure if it can be repaired (I was putting air every day), I brought my spare new tire. My thinking was if the tire cannot be plugged or patched, I will have them replace with my own tire. The guy working could not find the leak (he had informed me that they are now charging $35 for a patch now) so he suggested I change out my tire. I agreed. I asked him if the price was still $25 since they had increased their price for a patch. He said they charge $25 for the dismount, mount and balance service. I told him I will take my old tire back. Before he put my tire back, he wanted me to pay and the invoice says $35. I told him he charged me the wrong price. He said the additional $10 was for tire disposal. But I was taking my tire back. He said they charge the additional $10 no matter what. Although the $10 is not a lot of money, it's the principle behind this. They advertise $25 patch and $25 for change-out tire service, but when you get there, you realize it's a bait and switch tactics. I will never going to use their service no more.

I go to my vehicle this morning and that tire is completely flat. I immediately gave praise that the tire did not blow out while I was driving passengers the night before. I called and spoke to someone and told them I was the guy that came in and told him what happened. Guy could care less, told me he could put a new one one for 135 bucks. Not sure why selling a tire is more important than the safety of other people. Luckily called Pono tire, they had a used one, got me in immediately. Their technicians looked at the flat and said it was a deep gash and should not have been driven on. Very unsafe. I'm disappointed in the lack of professionalism and common courtesy from Mike's. Have some accountability, its not difficult to apologize for a mistake. Im very happy the tire was flat when I got to the vehicle and did not blow out while driving passengers on the highway today.

My judgment of a business is not how they act when things go smoothly, but rather the service when things don't! When the wheels arrived, it was found out the manufacturer had accidentally only shipped the front two! We were so bummed out about having to wait for the back two, ams even though this was at no fault of the shop,, Chris made things right by discounting the total price a bit, and making us a priority. As soon as the back two came, they were on it, and installation was super fast. Overall this is a great place for customizing work, and we will be back for suspension work soon!

I ended up putting the money into Vossen's, and Jon took care of ordering the rims and including a tire package. Dropped off my car, took a short walk to the end of the parking lot, had lunch, and poof... my car was done. Looks fabulous, of course. My previous Range Rover never really got many compliments on the rims, but this one gets a lot. I also got compliments on the Pirelli Scorpions. This solidified the purchase that Jon got me what my car needed.
