Amazing! I had green eggs and ham special: An alt Benedict with hash browns, thin ham, poached eggs and lemon basil hollandaise. Loved it. My husband thought his burrito was oddly a tad sweet but otherwise good. We got a cinnamon bun to go for the tiny - thankfully covered in Orange cream cheese frosting that wasn't overly sugary. I had a hard time getting a feel from reviews. It's an order at the front and they bring you your food place. About 10-12 tables, largest seats 6-8 people. Extremely warm and charming. read more

Oh Pony, how I love thee, let me count the ways..... I flippin' love this place! I discovered Pony Espresso several years ago when I first moved to Southern Oregon. In all the years since, I have yet to be disappointed! The coffee is on point! Sometimes I throw a curve ball at the staff and ask them to put a shot in my iced tea and they're always happy to accommodate my bizarre requests. I usually go there for lunch, but the breakfast is sure to satisfy as well. I personally recommend the sunrise croissant deluxe but again, whatever you order will be good. I recently discovered they do lunch specials and opted for the Korean pulled pork sandwich. It was a revelation! Spicy & sweet on a delicious ciabatta roll. How could I not order it? The inside of the coffee shop is on the smaller side and usually filled with the regular crowd, but the outdoor patio is great on a warm, sunny day. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. Pony Espresso is truly the coffee shop gem of Jacksonville. read more

Where do I begin? This place is bad. I ordered a scramble, the first ingredient was bacon, the second was avocado. It was topped with a rotten avocado, most of it was dark brown and black. Now to the bacon, my girlfriend is a vegetarian and ordered a burrito- but asked for the bacon on the side. Apparently since they realized I was going to get that bacon, they put maybe an 1/8 of a cup of it in my scramble. Nice! The rest of my scramble was disgusting and cold, cold toast with 1 piece of cold butter. My cold"serving" of hash browns was about 1/2 the size of a dvd. My girlfriend's burrito was about the same. We both have stomach aches. I will say with no reservations that this was the worst breakfast I've had in years. I think the positive reviews on here are bs. After experiencing our breakfasts I'm not sure the Pony Espresso is capable of making good food. read more

This is a great little neighborhood coffee shop, and a Jacksonville staple along with the Good Bean. Their coffee drinks are amazing, especially the ice blended varieties, bagel breakfast sandwiches are also good. My fave is the Mudslide, an ice blended mocha w/ Irish cream and coconut. I wanted to like this place. It's cute close to town but unfortunately I will never return. HOPE IS SO RUDE. waited 45 min at there drive thru to only receive two wrong orders. Then waited again no apology rude high school kids working. Then new order came out I got home to eat my lunch rushing to get ready for work since now it's over an hr of waiting only to get the wrong order again. There was literally crushed up cup of noodles in my salad. No dressing wilted lettuce. A sandwich that was absolutely horrible beyond horrible. I would have rather just not ate. Soo rude and instead of hiring a bunch of kids who have no Idea how to cook, they should hire a cook one that has cooked before! I'll make sure to spread the word. Super disappointed with service here. Should have written many reviews in the past, but don't want to bite the hand that feeds me. I am a daily customer here for the last 10 years or better. I am not sure what the deal is but service is slower and worse by the day. I cant count the times my order has been cold, wrong order, or accidentally given to someone else in line at the drive thru, and made to wait for another order to be prepared and consequently forgotten all in the same day. Today I waited in line for near 35 minutes for a breakfast burrito, walked in to see where it was and they had forgotten about it, 1 other person in line. I didn't have time to wait and asked them to credit my account for the burrito. I have yet to see a credit, I will wait to see what happens. This is only a couple of the many, would be redundant to list them all. Anyway things are looking pretty bleak at the Pony Espresso. Don't count on the prices on the board. Was charged more than shown and then told the prices are subject to change???? That kept me away for 6 months. Stopped in there yesterday for lunch. Three of the tables for 4 were occupied with ONE person each on their computers. We were a party of 2 and there was no other place to sit. This was at 11:30. Over the years, I have tried many times to give this place another chance. When I had to give up on their coffee drinks, several years back, I still went in and ordered breakfast croissant, lunches, and baked goods to go. Eventually, the poor quality, the long wait times, the inability of staff to successfully produce what was asked for, all contributed to my giving up on it. Today was the very last time I will enter the place. The interesting books and literature have been replaced with Christian titles, which is puzzling, to say the least, and the food is now some of the worst I have ever paid for. This has been going on since the nineties with this place. I'm chucking the other half of this nightmare sandwich on ancient, stale croissant, (which I waited much too long for) swimming in raw onion, wilted lettuce, with cashews falling out of it, and chalking up my hope today as simply a stupid mistake on my part. I should have known better. And for the record, no one I know around these parts has ever really had anything but complaints about Pony Espresso, and guess what? They could care less. Unfortunately I've only ever had sub-par experiences here. I hadn't been in a very long time because of this but decided to try again today. I ordered a 16oz Avalanche and a Breakfast Burrito. The coffee just isn't good- it was lacking in flavor and it honestly was just bland. For $4.25 I was hoping for a great drink. Other than the fact that the burrito had the nice touch of being grilled, again it was just so-so. It was $5.25 and I can get a much better and bigger one of the same style that tastes ten times better at Muchas Gracias down the road for less money. It always hurts me to ever feel the need to leave 1 star but in this case, there is no way around it. I have given this place way more chances then I should have, but unfortunately living in Jacksonville with so few of options, this tends to be a place I end up gravitating towards. The biggest issue I have with this place is the lack of standard knowledge and customer service in this establishment. Although they may serve you with a smile, I have NEVER I mean NEVER had my order ever be correct. Whether forgetting an order with my phone order or leaving out additions (i.e. No avocado, when ordered or paid for) and being told there is no bagels when you can visibly see bagels from the counter! I had the highest hope but they were dramatically crushed! A huge suggestion for you PONY ESPRESSO, train the people that work the from counter! Your food is good but the service received from the front is absolutely painful and extremely comical! read more

This is my go to place! In the morning I go for a mix of spicy and sweet chai soy latte. Yes they have two kinds plus several syrup options. In the afternoon I often enjoy a blended mocha with coconut. The food is wonderful too. Try the berry coffee cake or dark chocolate dipped macaroon. read more

I have been here a number of times and the coffee and food are always good. I love their panini's. There is plenty of seating and usually I can find a seat when they are busy. There is nothing worse than ordering and getting your stuff and then having no where to sit down. They have an excellent patio. It's a cute local coffee shop, with a drive thru. read more

I just had the most disappointing sandwich ever. It was supposed to be a BLTA on sour dough. The bread was slightly grilled whie bread. Were they starting to make panini and changed their mind? There was no avocado and a tomatoe slice which barely covered half the sandwich. I would have thought they forgot the avocado but there was a very thin light greenish spread on one slice of bread. Was this their idea of avocado? NOT There was a lot of bacon. ? Making up for the bad sandwich by putting all their left over bacon from breakfast? This is not the first disappointment I have had from this place. It seems to have been going down hill for some time. Thought I could take another chance. More fool me. What happened? The tea water is seriously hot, which is a big plus for me. They never seem to run out of bagels. The breakfast burrito is delicious. They have a nice little toaster set up so you can nuke your own bagel. Staff is pleasant though sometimes harried. read more

Coffee here is delicious! Our most recent visit however was not satisfactory. We went in the drive thru and once we ordered and paid she said "by the way our espresso machine is broken and they are fixing it now, so it will be a few minutes." We then sat and waited for at least 10 minutes while they fixed the machine. I feel they should have told us the moment we drove up to the window and let us decide if we wanted to wait. Coffee is good so I'll go back, but next time I go up to the window I'll make sure their machine is working before I order. I suggest you do the same. read more
