Let me start by saying that our waitress Fran, was as nice as she could be. Other than that I don't have ANYTHING good to say about this place. They don't serve eggs Benedict at all during the week, so if that's ur meal forget about mon-fri. Because of that I was forced to figure something else out. So I went with the flounder franchise (or however that's spelled) annnnnyway, we FINALLY got our food and we were sooooo disappointed. My husbands Spanish omelette was so bad he wouldn't eat it, (he eats everything and ANYTHING) said the veggies were soft, and mealy and tasted like they all came straight out of a can. My fish was deep fried and set on top of some spaghetti. But the fish was soooooo soggy and the meal altogether was so bland my 16 year old son that doesn't cook could've done a better job. Wen we were ready to leave we got our bill, and even tho they took our 2 meals off it was still 50$!!!! 2 bloody Mary's, 2 Corona's, 2 large ojs, and my sons french toast. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to this VERY over priced diner. Ponzio's is owned and operated by family. A family that cares about your dinning experience. They work the floors, they cook the food, they do the books. The place is always rocking. They have an excellent bar and probably the best bakery in the greater Philadelphia area. The menu is typically large and diverse with tons of favorites to choose from. My personal favorite is the flounder stuffed with crab meat. The only downside is sometimes on the weekends you might have to wait 15 or 20 minutes before sitting, it's that packed. If you want a safe, pleasurable, quality dinning experience and not send your money to some corporate firm ( who owns TGIF or Applebees anyway?) then Ponzio's is the best choice in South Jersey. read more

Exceptional bread basket, which included cinnamon bread, cheese filled bread, and biscuits. There was TOO MUCH food, but that's not always a problem. I had two eggs over easy with corned beef hash. The eggs were a little greasy, but the corned beef hash was excellent. (Again, there was A LOT of it.) The home fries are perfect: not too soggy and not too crispy. All they need is some salt. I started with the New England clam chowder, which I found a little too salty and watery. I also tried the pasta dante, which I highly recommend. Plentiful chunks of crab, prosciutto, shrimp in a tasty lemon sauce, all for a reasonable price. The pancakes were nothing special, which I find unforgivable for a diner. I just read the most recent review from Ed and Police activity and just curious if anyone actually believes this happened. I thinks it's all made up and just surprised that management does not reply to this post. I've been coming to Ponzio's for years and just hooked on the bread basket. The cheese rolls and sweet cinnamon bread are the best. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets. The meals are bland. I've tried most of the seafood dishes and disappointed. Italian dishes with any red sauce a big mistake. Probably the worse red sauce in a jar at your supermarket would still taste better than Ponzios'. Turkey is tasteless unless smothered in gravy. Try eating the hot turkey dry and you'll see what I mean. Most of the soups are very good, but served lukewarm. I always tell the waitress to nuke for a couple minutes and that seems to work for me. Ponzios is the Diner I have dreams about. The cheese rolls are enough to warrant a trip from Philly into the Suburbs of New Jersey. Order any sandwich, breakfast item or burger and you will be happy. My family and friends have been customers for more than 40 years, having breakfasts, lunches, dinners, late night meals, meetings, parties, since this restaurant was founded and ran by Mr. Fifis, a kind, warm, generous man. Ponzio's must be totally confident in their reputation. The cashier and the hostess sit at the register and openly trash their customers. Cursing and nastiness is apparently acceptable here followed by sugary sweet fakeness to the next customer's face. I heard a lot in my 15 minutes of waiting. Ponzio's is a massive diner with great homemade baked goods. I think it's sheer size & customer volume makes it feel more like a chain restaurant than a small town family diner. My family goes frequently for brunch, but I never feel like a regular even if I go every weekend. The waits can be long on & the food is good most of the time. Overall it's good, but pricey. And if you ever complain they will treat you like they don't need your business anyways. Still I keep going back for brunch and their homemade baked goods. read more

Excellent excellent food, I had heard about this place for a while and was wanting to heck it out, so if oh are like me you should. I had the burger (what a surprise). Great burger loved it. The appetizer though is really what I want to talk about because they had Philly cheesesteak spring rolls and oh man if you have never had them you have got to try them they were excellent. Better yet I had blueberry cobbler for desert ( I know out of all the pies and cakes and cookies that's what I had). Regardless excellent highly recommend this place great food all around. read more

This is one of my favorite diners! The food is DELICIOUS and the staff is friendly. It can get very busy, but even with a lobby full of people, the wait time is not long. Everything is always very clean. This visit we were a party of 4 and the lobby was full. We put our name on the list and were seated in about 10-15 minutes. We had not gone out to dinner for a couple of weeks and my wife asked that we go to Ponzio's in Cherry Hill, NJ, last night for dinner. She said that she had had their Chicken Pot Pie for lunch, only available on Thursdays, and she wanted that again. So we went. We arrived around 7 p.m. The parking lot wasn't totally full but was close to it. The restaurant had about 70% of the tables filled. The hostess was pleasant and seated us at a table and not a booth as we had requested. We seldom order appetizers and didn't last night either. My wife ordered soup, Snapper, and the Chicken Pot Pie. I ordered a Garden Salad and the Porterhouse Pork Chops. The soup and salad were delivered almost immediately. Our dinners were delivered fairly quickly after that. My wife raved about the Chicken Pot Pie. I tasted the gravy and it was a bit better than average. But it was nice and hot. My dinner, on the other hand, was stone cold. The pork chops and the mashed potatoes were stone cold. I will note that everything in the bread basket was stone cold too. The waitress did take my dinner and the bread to the kitchen and they came back warm but not hot. I had put a pat of butter in the mashed potatoes and it was a melted pool when it came back. Half of the mashed potatoes had dripped out of the bowl onto the plate under it. That was not the worst part though. Restaurants are in the habit or partially cooking a variety of meats so they can cut the delivery time to the customer's table. I understand the goal and I also have found that some chefs can do that better than others. However, these pork chops were tough with a leathery outer layer. The outside of the chops were a light copper color as if they had had some sort of liquid brushed on them while cooking. They were so dry that I could hardly chew the pieces that I managed to saw off. I ate about 1/3 of one of the two chops and just could not eat any more. My wife ate about 2/3 of here Pot Pie and we both took the remains home. We barely made it home when I then spent several hours in the bathroom and still have the same feeling 15 hours later. After that, I was hungry since I had not had much dinner so I reheated my wife's Pot Pie remains and ate that. But I did not rave about the dish as my wife had done. The chicken was dried out and over cooked. There was one small piece of boiled potato and a dozen or so green peas. There were a few pieces of stewed onions. The crust was OK but not as light as some commercially packaged pot pies. To top off our visit to Ponzio's, the cashier was a young lady, slinging gum, who did not inquire about our meals simply demanded to know if I wanted to leave a tip on the credit card, I told her the amount, she ran the credit card machine and tossed the paper strip and a pen to me. That young lady's mother was a failure. Her daughter has no manners and did not to add to the hospitality of anyone's visit to Ponzio's. I suppose she was a relative of the owners. In any case, it will be a long time before we go back there. read more

For a diner, a surprisingly weak selection of meals. I've seen better selection at taverns. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was more like fish sticks and a couple of french fries, I've seldom seen so little food on a plate. The cole slaw portion was one of those little paper cups like you would pump ketchup into at Burger King, which is also how the ketchup came. Very disappointed. The lobby is poorly laid-out with a clutter of people trying to figure out how to leave. It's not disgusting, but there are a lot of far better diners in the area. read more

Ponzios is in my opinion, the best diner is South Jersey and I have tried many. The rolls are home made and fresh, the iced tea is freshly brewed and the service is quick and efficient. Standouts on the menu are the French onion soup, panzarottini pizza rolls and the pesto chicken dish. The portions are large, the price is good and to top it off, Ponzios has an amazing bakery with some of the best cookies and cakes in the area that I have ever had. The cookie trays are sure to be party crowd pleasers. The atmosphere could be improved, and the inside seemingly could use a face lift, but nothing beats the quality of food and service here. They have anything you are in the mood for. My go to spot! read more

Had never been there before. Went last night and will never go again. Watched as employee after employee watched as my guest & I waited to be seated. Two minutes became five minutes then seven and so on... these same employees were NOT tending to customers; they were standing either talking to other employees or doing nothing. Literally. "Someone will be right with you" a few said to us. Of course no one ever came. It was the CLASSIC example of "not my job." It was incredible. This is so overhyped and expensive it is ridiculous!! Very popular in the area and I don't get it. Very overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. I live a few blocks away and never go here anymore . I have eaten both breakfast and lunch here and was totally disappointed. Addendum / Update 1/2/17: Well, we went back, for b'fast. Twice in Sept and Oct '16 and most recently Jan '17. Unfortunately each time we were disappointed. How can you mess up something as easy as eggs, potatoes and sausage? As before the platter came out with barely lukewarm food. Eggs were not cooked well done as requested. Sausages had a strange 'days old' aftertaste to them. Hash browns lukewarm and had the consistency of like we were chewing roofing shingles. Only thing they got right was the tea. Sorry, I will never go back to this place, either with clients or family or myself, ever again. Consider the Cherry Hill Diner about 1/2 mile away on 38 or the now re-opened Crystal Lake Diner in Haddon Twp near the County Library Extension instead. Just back from one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Went there to celebrate my mother's birthday. Had made a reservation for 8, but when we got there, were told it was never made. Asked for Alex and was told there wasn't an Alex...even though I had the card with his name on it that I had made the day before. I ordered a simple meal of a chicken club sandwich...easy for a diner, right? NO. The chicken was dried out and the toast was burnt. My husband and I decided to go to Ponzio's for breakfast today. Unfortunately we did not have good service at this location. While waiting to be seated my husband was asking the restaurant manager a simple question and it was the restaurant managers attitude that was absolutely rude, condescending, not professional and totally uncalled for. Horrible, completely and utterly horrible. It took the waitress over 20 minutes to put our food orders in even though she said she only had 3 tables and she wasn't busy. completely ignored our table till the food arrived 45 MINUTES LATER. my pork roll was dry and burnt when I asked for it to be well done and the food was cold in general (obviously it was sitting in the kitchen for a while). at this point I asked for a manger to complain about the poor service and quality of my food. the manager named Alex came and cut me off as I was trying to explain to him my issues. He put in another order of pork roll and home fries which came out immediately. however, the pork roll was soggy and under cooked and the home fries were just as burnt as the first batch. At this point Alex was accomplishing nothing so I asked to speak to someone above him. The owner John Giambanis then came over and did absolutely nothing but waste more of my time. He hovered over me while I was explaining my situation, called me a girl (I am 23 years old and should not be addressed in such a manner), and said that we ate all of our food so there was nothing to compensate. I did not touch the pork roll so he said he would adjust the bill to remove that and bring it back .HOWEVER, when he brought the bill back, he added on an order of eggs and did not remove anything, so he was charging me an extra $6 at this point. I had to find him to fix the bill for him to remove the eggs and the pork roll, leaving me with a $3 "compensation" after an additional 15 minute wait. If I wasnt hungover and didnt have to wait over an hour to try to get someone to fix all of this, I wouldnt have touched that food. Poor waitressing service, poor management, and extremely poor ownership. Does not create a good repor with the customers and does no care to see them happy or satisfied. Working in the restaurant business for over 8 years now i have never seen such unprofessionalism and lack of attention or care. the whole hour and a half we were there not one person said sorry or try to compensate us in any means. Do not waste your time or money into this business. I am not returning and will only promote people to stay away from this establishment. A complete shame. read more

I ordered Ponzio's breakfast on my way to work this morning, since I work in cherry hill. I ordered their "Columbo Combo" but asked for no meat, cheese for my eggs, and peppers and onions for my home fries. To be honest, I was disappointed. The pancakes were over cooked, the eggs weren't scrambled well like I had asked, I was charged extra for peppers and onions and cheese, but nothing came off because I didn't get any meat whatsoever, and I didn't even get to go silverware, or a receipt with my order. read more

Where do I begin. The food is extremely overpriced and portions are much smaller than other diners. Oh and the service is awful. Server rolled her eyes at me because I simply asked if she could microwave my breakfast for 30 seconds because it came out ice cold. Everything is perfectly cooked. The broccoli is just right, the baked sweet potatoes are excellent. They have great crab cakes, I love the sauteed pork chops. And yes, their breadbasket is the best. I have eaten at Ponzio's for decades and never had an experience that would merit a bad rating. They are definitely one of the better diners in the area. The bread basket is delicious. The service varies from excellent to okay, but the food is good. I love the snapper soup and the barramundi. They will cook/serve it with less butter if you ask, which I appreciate. Fortunately, the meals are very filling, so any desire for one of the desserts in the display in the waiting area is minimized. If you order a salad with pears, they are canned but that is to be expected at a diner, along with the side salad being mostly comprised of iceberg lettuce, but my preferences for real fruit and spring mix are not necessarily the norm. read more

Ponzio's used to be one of the best restaurants in Cherry Hill. But apparently the parents got old and the kids took over. I remember years ago if you asked for something to be made to order, IT WAS MADE TO ORDER. Now, you're lucky if it's even hot :-). Everything is getting more expensive, but their prices are rediculous. Even 2 eggs cost like $6-- no meat, either. And they're usually cost and the potatoes look like yesterdays! Say it isn't so! Love the Chicken Maryann. A little heavy but that just means I get 2 meals out of it. Go before 4 or maybe 5 and the lunch price is about $14. But even if you pay a bit more you get the basket of bread (next day breakfast) soup or salad. Overcrowded and way overpriced. I've been here probably about 8 times and that's about 7 too many. I've had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and it was all mediocre at best. $10 for eggs and day old dried out bacon. $10 for the equivalent of a bubba burger and fries. $18 for a chicken parmesan dinner. They charge just as much for their Chef Boyardee Italian food as a real deal Italian restaurant. It's so overcrowded that the service has no other choice but to be slow, and the food usually comes out warm at best. This place is to NJ diners the way Pat's and Geno's are to Philly cheese steaks.... Overpriced trash. read more
