I can't believe we ate the whole thing ! And it was delicious. My 88 year old mother told the chef that Poochies Strawberry Compote waffle was the best waffle she had Ever eaten. And my French toast was incredible. The servers were so friendly. The prices are reasonable. A short 15 minute drive from our homes in Kentucky and we have been recommending Poochies to everyone we know. Can't wait to go back to try a Burger because they looked yummy too! read more

This place is awesome! The food is very good and everything is very fresh. They have homemade goetta too! It is good but definitely different than I am used to. Their prices are reasonable but on the higher side for a hole in the wall diner. This place gets very busy, expect to be seated very close to another table and experience long wait times. A delicious breakfast place. I had their breakfast bowl one day and the Dan's thing with the weird Cincinatti breakfast meat the next. Everything was reasonably priced and super tasty. Service was fast, everyone was friendly and the bathroom was clean. I love seeing the images of the adopted pets while I was eating. A million dogs and a few cats thrown in. Nothing makes me madder than dog owners who "aren't cat people". Of course you aren't cat people, that would be terrifying. Anyway, the owner seems to love dogs in particular but that doesn't keep her from helping cats adopted too. What a great place. read more

I had heard of Poochies Place for a long time, and happened to be out that way this week . My son and I stopped in for breakfast. When the waitress came over, I asked how were the biscuits and gravy. She replied, very good, so I went for the full order. My son ordered an omelet , along with hash browns. Both orders looked good, and tasted even better! Great food, great service, what could be better? I decided to order a takeout order of biscuits/ gravy, for my wife at home( she makes everything from scratch!!!!) She was impressed with the flavor and quality. So, though we live on the other side of town, we will certainly make this a regular stop. read more

Background: Businessman (age:30's) passing through - found this place because of Yelp. What an awesome find. I was looking for a great down home breakfast on the way to a meeting recently, and lucked upon Poochie's Place. This is one of those restaurants you would never go in without someone telling you about it - small square box restaurant, no frills. So thanks to Yelp for the tip! The staff were incredibly friendly from door to door. Upon arrival, you seat yourself. The waitress takes care of everything else. I was in and out in just 35 minutes. Food was delicious, fast, and filling. I ordered the #2, which was 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. The hash browns were a little greasy, but nothing to complain about. There is plenty of free parking. If I had to make one recommendation, it would be to add grits to the menu. I highly recommend Poochie's Place!! Poochie's Place is housed in an old KFC that's as unassuming on the outside as it is on the inside. Don't let the drab decor deter you from having a wonderful breakfast feast on the east side. I came in one morning hoping to get goetta and I wasn't disappointed. I was seated promptly and was able to order a goetta and cheese omelette. My heavenly omelette was accompanied by home fries and toast. My only complaint is that the food does tend to take a little into the longer side, but I've found that to be a consistent issue with small suburban mom and pop places. If you find yourself going out Route 32 and a McDonald's breakfast burrito isn't going to cut it, I'm absolutely positive Poochie can hook you up with something good. read more

I have been wanting to try pooches out for some time I have heard that they had really good double decker sandwiches so it was time to go. they closed early at 2 so it's always been a problem getting up there before they close. It's an old Long John Silver's the decor still looks like Long John Silver's. The staff seemed friendly and nice welcoming. I ordered the double decker club which was ham turkey and bacon lettuce tomato and mayonnaise there was what seemed to be like one or two slices of each on each bread when normally a double-decker is pretty piled with lunch meat so I was surprised by the cost of the same ones being my $9 compared to other places. the ham has the fat around it it's not too Pleasant to eat. The french fries were really good my wife had the grilled cheese it came out burnt she had to scrape off her burnt off the toast. Was only giving them a try because of some other review that's stated the double deckers are really good and really big and plentiful but that's not the case. read more

A cute and kitschy diner on the eastern fringes of greater Cincinnati. It appears to be a former fast food restaurant and there are cutesy signs up everywhere, reflecting the mom & pop nature of the place. The tables are packed in, making it hard to navigate the place when it's busy. The food consists of pretty standard greasy spoon diner fare. There are definitely a lot of corners cut in how they prepare the food which ruined the magic for me a bit. I ordered a goetta & cheese omelette which was great, with a thin wrapper of egg stuffed with plenty of goetta. The goetta is excellent, by the way, because they likely use Glier's. Every place in town has great goetta, because the supplier makes good goetta. The home fries that came with it were also fine, fairly crispy and soft in the middle, though it could've used more seasoning. My girl's pancakes were pretty boring. They commented that mommy makes better pancakes back home. My meal came with a biscuit so I ordered a side of gravy. The biscuit looked delicious, but it was cold, a bit dense, and had a slightly funny taste to it. The gravy was clearly from a package and not homemade. It had an off texture and was extremely bland. The ability to make homemade sausage gravy is diner food table stakes for me. It's quick and easy to make, and delicious even with a simple recipe. Bringing it in pre-made is inexcusable. The last thing I'll mention is that they had delicious looking jams and jellies for sale at the front counter. However, at the tables they had the cheapest off-brand (probably GFS) jelly imaginable. It seems almost insulting that they have good jelly there but won't let you use it unless you buy an entire jar! This would've been a highlight of the meal, but was instead a stark reminder that there are too many corners cut here to actually enjoy the meal. read more

I got the Bradster because of reviews on here minus the cheese and it was great. Crispy goetta, creamy gravy and was very filling. Service was great. I love finding places like this. Everything was so good I didn't even take pictures. This place was super busy and I know why. I enjoyed the funny signs and the blue glitter chairs are a great touch. Now about the food: The onion rings were phenomenal; crispy and flavorful. The fries and home fries are amazing. The burger looked incredible. The goetta was cooked perfectly. When Poochie's Place made its initial appearance down the street from us in the remnants of an unassuming KFC, my wife and I were unsure what to make of it. The name "Poochie's Place" doesn't exactly infer a certain sort of business. It turned out to be a small breakfast/lunch diner, and a pretty dang good one at that. A greasy spoon joint in the best possible way. My wife and I have become somewhat regulars, enough so that "Poochie," the purveyor of the location, recognizes us and greets us warmly when we stop in. We frequent Poochie's for breakfast. It is always fast, delicious, filling and affordable. Here are a couple of pics, French Toast w/Strawberries, Blueberry Pancakes, and a Goetta breakfast, complete with two egss, hash browns and two slices of toast. Usually for the two of us, which would include two very filling breakfasts and two cups of coffee, the bill runs about $15 pre-tip. Pretty reasonable, I'd say. While I do agree the above burger from the earlier review looks pretty paltry, my wife and I have never been there for lunch so I can't really speak on their lunch options. However, I would definitely recommend it for a friendly, filling breakfast location. read more

I got the chocolate chip waffles and they are DELICIOUS. Just the right amount of fluffiness and a crispy edge. I love them. This was my first time here, and I am definitely coming back.
