Got locked out of my apartment and called them based on their ratings. I thought they'd be located in town so they would get by sooner but they quoted me an hour and a little over a $100. What broke this deal with them was that the guy told me to give me my credit card information over the phone before he sent someone out. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving that info before someone even coming and if I could just charge it after the service was complete. Then there was just silence...I kept saying "hello? hello?" and then he hangs up. SOOOOO SKEEETCHYYY! I've gotten a locksmith before and they charged me right thena nd there after the service...Thank god I just waited for my friends to get me out. I just got off of a long day at work.. finally get to my car, hallelujah!!!! And it's dead omgosh horrible. Then my phone died lol ouch. Had to walk back to work to charge my phone just to finally call my roadside assistance.! Finally though once pop a lock was called it was quick, easy, and awesome! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. After trying to call the competition (because they had better reviews) and not getting any response back, I called Pop-a-Lock. They answered right away and were able to set up an appointment that evening (on a weekend mind you). The employee was very helpful and informative. This is a late review due to me being inactive on Yelp. Had a serious issue with my ignition safety lock preventing me from starting my vehicle about two months ago. I was referred to Zac from Pop-A-Lock. He came down and after about an hour of addressing the issue, he was able to get it back to operating normally. Bad service, I needed help changing my flat tire out and refuse to change it due to not having my car on a flat surface, I was stuck on the side of the road and yes my car was parked on a dirt uneven ground but he could've moved my car a little over on the street to change my tire. Even the road side operator thought he should've tried doing that, it would've caused a little traffic but atleast I would have my spare tire on. Anyway, the guy left and did recommend to just have my car towed to the delearship. 808 Expedite came to the rescue and moved my car safely on the street he made it look so easy and even offered to change my tire. Contacted my insurance roadside assistance last night for help with my flat tire at 6:18pm. They sent out for Pop a Lock to come and help us at 6:50pm. No one called to let us know what time they'd be there. I called a little after 7 and was told 5-10 min. 20 min later, I called again and they said 20 min. Long story short, at 8pm, I ended up calling a relative (a suggestion made by Pop a Lock during my last conversation with them on the phone). When my cousin fixed my flat, we ended up leaving the scene at 8:45pm. Still no call or update from Pop a Lock. Sitting on the side of the busy freeway for 2 1/2 hours was terrifying. Just be honest if you can't come out in a timely manner. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and poor service. read more

Called for a technician to unlock my car because I left my keys inside. Dispatch lady was rude. I asked for 1) to send someone over to open my car and 2) to make another copy of my keys since I didn't have a spare. Lady didn't understand, she repeated what I said in a rude way. Totally unhelpful. Also, a credit card must be put on file to "secure the call" which was totally unnecessary. Lastly, the time frame was 1 hour to have someone come... Not using this company again, found another company that was way better, and cheaper. read more

I used Pop-A-Lock today and Zach was dispatched to assist me. I had locked myself out of my condo and had no alternatives for getting back inside. The Pop-A-Lock dispatcher quoted a 1 hour wait time and Zach called to let me know he was coming from Kaimuki. When Zach arrived, he was friendly and courteous. My building has very challenging locks, and I've called for other locksmiths before who couldn't even get the door open after trying for half an hour. I was anxious that I might run into the same problem again, but Zach's joking demeanor put my anxiety to rest and it took him no more than 5 minutes to unlock the door. (If you like "dad jokes" and puns, they are a complimentary service he provides.) While I would've preferred not to lock myself out of my condo, Zach and Pop-a-Lock showed up and fixed the problem faster than I had expected. Additionally, the price was cheaper than what the guys who couldn't even open the door had changed me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service from Pop-A-Lock and Zach. I hope I never have to call them again (no offense, guys) but if I need a locksmith, Pop-A-Lock is who I will call. Mahalo! read more

My wife and I had a flat tire on our Toyota Sienna van at about 11:00 last night near the Honolulu airport. We called GEICO and Pop-A-Lock was dispatched. Soon after, we received a phone call from KYLE of Pop-A-Lock. From that conversation, first impression was already a positive one - Kyle was very pleasant (even though it was late at night) and he expressed care about our situation. When Kyle arrived at the scene, he got right to replacing the tire while making friendly conversation. He was happy to help us, and he did quick and safe work. During this time, Kyle also educated my wife and I about safety measures with the spare tire, i.e. proper PSI and not exceeding 50 mph when using it. Kyle inspected the flat tire and pointed out the cause of the flat. He also checked the pressure on the spare tire, found that it was much too low, and then used his tire inflator pump to make it safe for driving. Lastly, Kyle retracted the loosened cable which held the spare tire under the van. Kyle did all of the above efficiently and with a smile. Typically, a flat tire incident is a downer.
