Popbar specializes in gelato bars- lots of different flavors, that you can dip in chocolate and have toppings on it. Mmmm. My brother got the mango flavor with white chocolate on it. Meh, it was alright. I however, got the green tea flavor dipped in milk chocolate with waffle cone bits on it- it really did taste like a green tea kit kat! Oh it was good... Like really good. And it was heavy-I could barely finish it! The people who work behind the counter of popbar are really.. Peppy (makes sense, right? With all the sugar?), and overall pretty nice. I love the Popbar! An infinite amount of creations I tell you. It gets expensive with $5.39 a pop but it's worth it because the place makes me so darn happy. I tried this place out for the first time and it was pretty good. I didn't know how to order or even what to order since it was my first time. You just select the flavor you want and the toppings you want on it. I just got pistachio with pistachio nuts and white chocolate drizzle on it. I thought there was like a preset of things you could order. My wife ended up trying the ferrero rocher popbar. It tasted just like the chocolate candy. I wish I knew if they had other ones you could order. Maybe next time I'll try out something different. I've been back to the Packing House about 3 or 4 times since my first time and every time, I always make sure to come to Popbar and I'm never disappointed. Since my first visit, I've tried the pumpkin pie, green tea, and strawberry. I love getting the crushed waffle cone on any of the flavors; it just adds the perfect crunch! Man, this place was pretty poppin' last night! Eh? Eh? Fine. Some friends and I went to the Packing District last night. We wanted to try the Blind Rabbit. However, it was packed so we had to put our names down on the waiting list. While we were waiting, we decided to try out Popbar. I've heard the wait here can be pretty crazy, but it was actually not that bad last night! It took about 15-20 min. to get our popsicles. Not too bad at all. So, you get to customize the popsicles here. You pick your popsicle and then tell them what toppings you want. If you want to dip it in something like chocolate, you can choose to dip the whole popsicle or half of the popsicle. You can also add nuts, sprinkles, etc. I decided to get the coffee popsicle, half dipped in dark chocolate, and rolled in hazelnuts. It was so good! The coffee gelato was amazing. It was so strong and tasted great with the dark chocolate and hazelnuts. I didn't expect to like it that much. I went in thinking I was just getting an overpriced popsicle, but it did live up to the hype for me. Coffee ice cream...my weakness! Service was great. They were all pretty friendly. I write this with a heavy heart. I have been wanting to go to Popbar for quite some time now. This weekend a spontaneous trip to LA gave me the opportunity to make this happen. When we arrived the line was pretty intense so we decided to wait a bit for the crowd to die down, after having a few beers & some food at other spots in the Packing House we made are way to Popbar. The line was short, which I was pleasantly surprised about. Mind you this is our first time here so we didn't know how the process worked and weren't familiar with all the flavor a or toppings. We were completely rushed through the line. The workers seemed upset about us asking any questions about what taste best, there were about 8 people behind the counter 5 of them doing God knows what. We got to the toppings section and the person "helping" us totally left before completing our order while the person at the register told us 5 times in less then 2 minutes how much we owed them. We get it 10.79.. We asked one of the workers standing around if they could finish with us she instead went to call the other guy back and then went to stand around & talk again rather than helping us while we waited the cashier repeated our amount due again. How about you have someone finish helping us and then we will pay you. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The worst ever... I almost felt like throwing the bar in their face along with their $10.79. You may hate your job but don't take it out on me. We went to a lot of other places here and everyone was just as busy as them but super friendly and helpful. I don't know why everyone is saying that popbar doesn't live up to the hype. I this it definitely lives up to it. This place is awesome. I just wamt to come back again and again so I can try all the cool flavors and combinations! First off its a great concept. Customisable popsicles with high quality ingredients and yummy toppings. Yes please! I ordered a peanut butter popGelato dipped in dark chocolate with crushed waffle cone and pistachios. The peanut butter flavor really popped (pun intended!). The waffle cone added nice texture and the chocolate was really smooth and pleasantly crunchy :) I probably could have gone without the pistachios. They kinda fought with the peanut butter flavor but all in all really good! I know that people complain a lot about the length of the lines but I didn't really mind. I needed the time to make up my mind (so many choices!) I guess if your really in a rush you might have to skip the popbar, so just don't go when your in a hurry! But if your not, popbar is awesome. I can't wait to try some of their sorbetto. Also, I didn't realize this at the time but you can get as many different chocolate dips and drizzles for the same price (same for toppings) so next time I'll get more than one! read more

I was passing through Anaheim and wanted to try a new dessert place out. It is located inside the Anaheim Packing District. There is very limited parking. I had to drive around a few times to grab a spot. The inside of the building is amazing. There are many small places to eat and/or drink. Downstairs there is seating, and tables. There was also live music playing. The great reviews led me here, but I was really unimpressed. I ordered a Dulce de Leche pop covered in dark chocolate, almonds, and coconut. The Dulce de Leche pop didn't really taste like it. It was just a light caramel taste. The chocolate dries fast, so by the time she dipped it in coconut, hardly any stuck to it. Which is unfortunate because you have to pay .50 for the dip, and then .50 for the topping. For $5+ there are definitely better places to grab a sweet treat. read more

Inside the Anaheim Packing District, you can't really miss it from the long lines in front. Service is quick and fast, since they've been doing this for a while. I personally enjoyed the yogurt flavored bar the most. It reminds me of the Asian yogurt you get in little plastic bags at the grocery store and you have to bite off the corner to eat it. This place is so good! The first time I went, there was a huge line out the door. Luckily the other few times I've been it wasn't as bad. I've tried the coconut, hazelnut and pistachio bars and all have been amazing! Each time I ask them what they recommend as toppings, which has never disappointed. I was very impressed by the flavor - the green tea wasn't too sweet and paired well with the chocolate. I quickly took pictures of our finished products and was able to eat my Popsicle in time without any of it melting. Success! Next time I come, I hope they have coffee since it wasn't there this time.
