Prices here are far too high, 20 Timbits and a medium coffee was over $10. But, when you're driving…read morea lengthy period of time, those high prices don't matter and convenience is more important. (i.e. the ability to quickly park, get your sweet/coffee fix, hit the restroom, and get on your way) The staff here are really friendly. They are super patient too. They had a great selection of donuts and Timbits and the coffee was perfect.

Updating this because I've been here many more times since I wrote the review since it's so close to home, but unfortunately it hasn't really gotten any better. On the odd occasion it's excellent but mostly it's lukewarm and doesn't taste right. My old review was like this: I was just at this Horton's about 2 weeks ago. I come here regularly because it's 3-4 mins from my house whereas the next nearest location is about 10 mins away. However I'm really not a big fan at all. They're more expensive than the other locations, because they are at a rest stop. And the product is consistent... in the sense that it is consistently awful. 9 out of 10 times it's either lukewarm or tastes weird or both. OK a Scotsman didn't say that, but I don't like when Tim's overcharges just because it's on the Thruway, and the coffee here often tastes older and staler than the ones at other local Timmy Ho's. Why pay more for a less tasty product. The worst Tim Hortons on many levels, order is often wrong, employees extremely rude, coffee usually cold if it's even the right thing you ordered. And don't get me started on the unprofessionalisticalityicalness of the servers here.

We stopped in Buffalo on our way to Boston and made a beeline to Hayes Seafood House. A local…read moreinstitution, Hayes has been serving up fresh seafood prepared in a wide range of presentations since 1877. Hayes is nothing fancy; the star here is the seafood. Counter service and popularity requires a bit of a wait but that is necessary to decide what to order from the bountiful catch on offer. We started with raw oysters and clams casino. Freshly shucked oysters are a thing of beauty and Hayes did not disappoint. The Clams Casino are a house specialty which we highly recommend for the experience of a unique dish. We both ordered the broiled haddock and scallops for our entrees and could not have been happier. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions ensured a fabulous dinner. Hayes is a Buffalo standard for seafood for a reason - superb selection and masterfully crafted seafood makes for a great experience.

The absolute best lunch my mother-in-law and I have had in a VERY long time. This is by far the most incredible and freshest seafood in the area. We got there shortly after opening so it was not busy, but by noon, the line was out the door. Very clean restaurant. You can tell they pay attention to the place. Great decor, friendly staff. Plenty of seating room. The menu was a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the blackened haddock platter (with red potatoes and coleslaw) and mom got the lake perch with the same sides. We both were in love at our first bite. The haddock was perfectly seasoned and I had no doubts it was cooked well. Lately I feel some places I have been served fish that isn't done. No doubts here. Coleslaw was saucy and flavorful. Potatoes were delicious and the meal also came with a roll. The perch meal was exactly what my mother in law was hoping for. She hadn't had it in a while and it was a heaping portion. She said it "barely" had much taste, which was a plus for her. The batter was clean, and you can tell fresh oil was in the fryer. While the prices are a little high for a normal lunch, they were worth every penny. We will definitely be back.
