This location has the worst customer service of any restaurant i've been to since covid. Their hours are inconsistent. They say open 11-close but closing is at their discretion. We walked in last night at 635pm after calling to verify they were open and the server told us that only cold items were available as they had already shut all of their equipment off. Even the phone call to inquire if they were open resulted in the owner barking at us. This is the 4th time we have had a bad experience. One time we were approaching the door and an employee looked at us, locked the door and smirked, turned around and walked away. November 10th 2025, today I had a most pleasant experience. I went to John and Mary's a bomb subs for the very first time. I had a whole assorted sub. My companion had the eggplant parm sub. The construction of the sub was superb. It can only be called constructed because it was put together. Not throwing together it was neat and appearance the flavors blended nicely and there was ample amount to have made a second sub from what was there. The staff were positively fantastic. Polite, courteous, and businesslike all-in-one. And Care was taken to ensure every customer had a pleasant experience the building is well ordered. There is ample seating for those wanting to eat in, and the takeout orders we're done promptly. Music appropriate to the season was playing. The booths and table tops or clean and neat as well as pleasing to the appearance. The the restrooms were clean, stock with soap and paper towels with clean floors and no odors. We were afforded ample time to eat and our leisure and enjoy our meal. We took no beverages with our subs. Yet the amount of oil and or mayo on our selections with sufficient that a beverage was not needed. Since we were eating in, our order was on a tray which was clean. Is sufficient supply of napkins was provided for wiping of face, hands and the table top as we took so long eating and enjoying our meal that the oil from both of our subs penetrated the plate they were served on. The overall appearance was pleasing to the eye and general atmosphere enjoyable. I look forward to going back there as does my companion. Prices were in keeping with the industry, but definitely not over the top considering the amount of food that was provided. They've taken great care to maintain the family recipes and the food tastes just as good today as it did when I was a teenager. I love our local hot sauces: Ted's. Louis'. The hot sauce here has more zing than the others. Give it a try! They have real French fries made of potatoes that weren't contaminated with MSG, strange crispy coatings or sodium levels that will make you visit your cardiac specialist. The fries are done just right on the outside, while the inside is soft, smooth, and flavorful. My only complaint is that I can't stop eating them once I get started. The Italian sausage is the wonderful Sicilian style Buffalo is used to having. It isn't the bland stuff you find in other cities. Capocollo. Fresh. Spicy. It's the real deal. Try this on your next sub. If you're Italian you'll love it. The rolls are also Buffalo style sub rolls - soft and delicious. I ordered a turkey and ham full size sub and it was surprisingly good for a simple sandwich. They had tasty fresh bread and yummy cold cuts and veggies. They've got a nice selection of different hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, and other grill foods. I think they even do breakfast sandwiches! A word of caution: they toast the buns which brings out the superness of them. So if you are one of those au natural folks who like your buns as they came from the baker.....let them know! Picked up a pizza and wings after the game today. Take a look at the pictures this has to be one of the best pizzas I've had in western New York. It truly feels like a warm family owned business and I do believe that the same woman has taken my order every single time. FOOD: Even though J&M's has a great selection of subs the hubby and I always get the turkey with mayo and no tomatoes. I have also tried the meatball and chicken fingers sub. If you don't eat meat I also went through a phase of marinara and cheese on a bun. The bread is delicious! I could honestly eat each of the ingredients individually. J&M's uses delicious ingredients to make the perfect sub. We also like to share an order of motzerella sticks. Ordered two royals and we were really sorry I took the time to go there. The subs had half slices of tomatoes, onions were difficult to see and the lettuce was just as scarce. I agree with the previous poster - keep driving down the road. If you want hot subs, go to Jim's Steakout. If you want pizza, go to Franco's. I visited the John and Mary's on Niagara Falls Boulevard, and it wasn't much of an improvement. My boyfriend and I have ordered subs and pizza there, which were both mistakes. The hot subs are okay, but nothing to write home about. You can get better value for the money somewhere else *cough* Jim's Steakout *cough*. The pizza isn't any better. The sauce wasn't very good, and there was way too much of it. Also, the pizza that I ordered was burned. I want my crust to be crispy, not charcoal. Their menu has a lot to offer, but every single item is overpriced. For the money John & Mary's charges, their service should be quicker. Since they don't have miracle whip I opted for their oil since the lady raved on how good it was and how flavorful it was. I waited about 5 mins for my sub. When my # was called, I went up to the counter and I was very disappointed when I saw it. It had barely anything on it! I wish I had remembered to take a picture. There was may be 2 slices of turkey on it, like 2 little scraps of lettuce and a small piece of cheese. It had no flavor either! I had to go back up and get A side vinegar. Im giving this place a 3 as they totally lack any beatification and believe function-in-all approach. Another major downside is that they do not accept AMEX and do not have any signs on that. This place has terrible customer service. And when I say terrible .... I mean like I've never seen before. Today in line for lunch I witnessed the woman at the counter completely take out her frustration of being short handed on the customers. This was a real turn off. I tried calling them after to left and asked to speak with a manager.....the woman I was speaking to must have been the one who was at the counter.
