    Baja Fish Taco
    Kinnie I.

Food - 3-4 Service- 2 Ambiance - 3 some Mexican inspired artwork and decor. Nice. Dining area needs to be cleaned better. There was food crumbs under our table. When we got up to leave, my feet were sticking to the ground. Maybe I unknowingly stepped into a spilled beverage under the table?? It's hard to find authentic and delicious Mexican food In WNY. Passed by this Restaurant many times, see a full parking lot during dinner time. We decided to try. The Baja fish tacos appeared nice in presentation. Generous portion. 4/5 in taste. I prefer fish tacos that are not breaded. A little oily. The side of rice and black beans was blah. 2/5. The rice was watery. As if it was not drained after cooking And same with the beans. 2/5. My daughter had a fajita burrito which she enjoyed 4/5. We were seated quickly, food took only a few minutes to be served. However our waitress never came back after serving us to refill water or check if we needed anything. We had to flag down a different person who was clearing a nearby table to get more water.

On the recommendation of a coworker. This place was super clean and comfortable. Very reasonable prices. Great atmosphere and decor. Delicious food and great portion size. Will definitely take the drive out again!

Okay food. Large plates with decent taste. Ordered a sangria that was hardly filled and pineapple looked a week over past due date. Never had to wait, serve was good. Not my favorite local mexican spot but will do in a pinch. Building isn't super clean don't look around on the bathroom

The food was good, but it could have been better. The chip was hot and warm. It wasn't salty which is a good thing. The salsa was really good. The chicken quesadilla was plain, nothing special about it. (Which is understandable) The queso was good, but just too much cheese. Sometime i feel like people need to make it with more. However that is my opinion. The taco was good, it was not too dry. The flavor was there. The salsa was too spicy for my friend, so i use it for the chicken quesadilla. My burrito with rice was good. But it was a lot of rice. I'm not a big fan of rice. The service was good. They were replacing our chip and salsa. The only part was the refill of water. The ambiance was good it wasnt loud. Family place to have lunch. However, it does need more light, it kind of feel very dark inside.

Came here for dinner Sunday night and it wasn't too bad! I liked the atmosphere... bright and colorful, yet cozy. There's a small bar you can sit at as well. Also, TVs mounted. And festive music playing! Oh, and there was a space heater near my table which kept me nice and warm and was much appreciated! The host and the waitress were both friendly and efficient. My friend ordered the enchiladas. He enjoyed his meal. I ordered the carnitas rancheras and enjoyed mine as well. The meat was really flavorful and tender. I enjoyed the sauce as well, but the meat was so good on its own I could take or leave the sauce (a good piece of meat often needs no sauce in my opinion). As is the standard at most Mexican places, warm chips and homemade salsa was served complimentary... both were also refilled without asking which was nice! Menu is big and I'd gladly come here again in the future.

We've driven by this place many time and finally stopped for lunch. We very quickly after being seated received our bowl of chips and salsa to munch on while looking at the menu. The salsa was rather bland but our server quickly brought over a hotter sauce to mix in and it was perfect. I liked the fact that the salsa was delivered in a carafe, ensuring we would not run out. I ordered the chicken fajita. I was surprised when it was delivered on a regular plate rather than a sizzling hot pan which I'm used to seeing. Thankfully that didn't effect the taste, vexcept the refried beans which were more like a refried paste. The rice was seasoned lightly, no more is needed with the chicken and veggies in the fajita. There was a generous portion of guacamole, which I appreciated. Overall, decent lunch. 2022-19

Lunch portion at full dinner price. Bland Favorless Rice Bowl with pork, mostly lettuce.

Never ate here before so decided to stop for lunch. All I can say is that this is the last time I will be eating here. Here ase some reason for my disappointment. When we sat down the server brought over a basket of nacho chips and some salsa. The chips were just ok but the salsa was completely bland and flavorless. No acid and no spice what so ever. I asked the server fr some hot sauce to add to the salsa. I expexted a condiment carrier with a variety of jarred sauces but all I got was a small bowl of what looked like some type of bulk purchased red pepper sauce and with no spoon to mix some with the salsa or put on my food. At first I thought the lack of a spoon was just an oversight then saw that just about every table was asking for hot sauce which were also served without spoons. I guess everyone elses food was also bland and flavorless. Not a good thing at all. I ordered a rice bowl with pork off the main menu and not off, it was not on the lunch menu. It was a very small portion, even smaller than I would expect a reduced price lunch portion would be but I was still charged the full dinner menu price. And again the food was bland and flavorless even after pouring the rest of the hot sauce on it. Not COVID flavorless but just cooked flavorless. I know I didn't loose me sence of taste because the Iced Tea with lemon tasted fine. I guess it comes down to this, I don't recommend this restaurant unless you don't care about eating bland, flavorless food. There are probablt people out there that would love this place because they are into eating bland, flavorless food. This is my star justification: One star for the normal tasting Iced Tea and One star for the average service.

And that was the medium size margarita!

Everything about this restaurant is excellent!! Be careful when ordering a grande margarita! That thing is huge!! Had the chimichanga dinner with my 89 yo mother. She rarely eats everything on her plate. Not this time I even had to keep her from licking the plate! Haha service was over the top exceptional. Nice decor. Fell in love with this place and will be back often.

Excellent presentation and taste to match! As well as being surrounded by authentic sight and sounds, this place is both clean and comfortable. The service staff is fast and friendly. This is top recommended and is "H" List approved!

We decided to order take out for 6 of us last night. As usual it was so very good. Their chicken soup is amazing and so hearty. I got a combination plate with a beef enchilada a chili relieno, rice and beans. I was so full but just had to finish it. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and for dessert we ordered the churros and as full as we were we managed to finish them as even with take out they were delicious!

Counter service and popularity requires a bit of a wait but that is necessary to decide what to order from the bountiful catch on offer. We started with raw oysters and clams casino. Freshly shucked oysters are a thing of beauty and Hayes did not disappoint. The Clams Casino are a house specialty which we highly recommend for the experience of a unique dish. We both ordered the broiled haddock and scallops for our entrees and could not have been happier. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions ensured a fabulous dinner. The absolute best lunch my mother-in-law and I have had in a VERY long time. This is by far the most incredible and freshest seafood in the area. We got there shortly after opening so it was not busy, but by noon, the line was out the door. Very clean restaurant. You can tell they pay attention to the place. Great decor, friendly staff. Plenty of seating room. The menu was a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the blackened haddock platter (with red potatoes and coleslaw) and mom got the lake perch with the same sides. We both were in love at our first bite. The haddock was perfectly seasoned and I had no doubts it was cooked well. Lately I feel some places I have been served fish that isn't done. No doubts here. Coleslaw was saucy and flavorful. Potatoes were delicious and the meal also came with a roll. The perch meal was exactly what my mother in law was hoping for. She hadn't had it in a while and it was a heaping portion. She said it "barely" had much taste, which was a plus for her. The batter was clean, and you can tell fresh oil was in the fryer. While the prices are a little high for a normal lunch, they were worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

Prices cannot be beat during the happy hour for these seafood delicacies which are costly otherwise. I was out at Perla on a Wednesday recently to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday with a group of friends. We had a great time and our server was such a sweet guy. The Woodfire pizzas are very good if you're not into seafood. Those you have to order from the regular menu. The menu is too limited for the happy hour. I knocked off one star because of this. There's usually a live band during this time, but we did not have one on the Wednesday that we attended unfortunately. I would definitely come back for the oysters!

While reviewing the happy hours specials I noticed "bottled and draft beers: $5.95". Not the greatest deal but went with it. I then proceeded to order 2 Corona Extras. We enjoy ourselves, finish our drinks, and now it's bill time. After reviewing the bill we notice that my Coronas were charged at $8.95 each. We bring this up to the bartender and are told "that's only for domestics"; not anywhere on the menu is this stated (don't worry I double checked). We ask if this is an error in our favor to which the magic happens. We must have said the magic words to this dirty blond bartender because that's when the tantrum happens. She then proceeds to reach into her tip jar and throw a single dollar bill and four quarters in front of us (technically still owed us $4). There's 100s of different ways to handle that situation if she disagreed with our thought on the bill and her reaction was literally the worst one.
