If you catch them when they're not busy, you're golden. If they are busy, try to play "I spy" or something while you wait. We have waited up to 45 minutes in the drive thru before. That's unacceptable. I have three stars though, because their food is always good and those serving it don't get our order wrong (a huge bonus in this area). I am convinced this place employs morons only. Today about 6:15 pm I go order chicken tender & sandwich combos! The pop was flat! I asked to change it to cola or cherry cola was given Dr Pepper --went back !!! The guy at the window is rude as I told him the carbonation was off because the orange pop was also flat ! At 8:45 tonight we went thru the Popeyes drive thru and had the BEST experience......the young man working the window was hilarious, friendly, cheerful..... the food was BOMB!!! My sandwich had the perfect amount of Mayo, FRESH pickles all up in that bun and my fries were hot!! Not to mention the pop here is aways ice cold and crispy. My boyfriends sandwich was drenched in sauce and his pickles were perfect. He said it's the best one he's ever had. I have never had a bad experience here but this was hands down the best. I am a big fan of Popeyes but this location definitely has issues. Tried it twice. First time order was filled with regular chicken and not spicy despite the fact we emphasized SPICY several time while giving our order. Plus the cup of beans and rice was barely half full. Very tiny portion. Went again a week later and this time my three piece order was shorted to a two piece AND the server picked the tiniest leg and thigh I've ever been served. While at the drive up window I noted the glass and sill area were very dirty. Made me doubt the hygiene of the whole store. I won't be back. read more

This new branch of Popeye's opened today. I wish I could give it a better review. At least they were ready for their opening. They had plenty of chicken ready for the lunch crowd. Service was fast. However they gave me the wrong type of chicken. I ordered Spicy and I got mild. I was also disappointed with their portioning. This , along with other branches of Popeyes and KFC likes to jip their customers by serving an 8 pc chicken (mixed) is 1 breast, 3 thighs, 2 legs and 2 wings. Also the price of an 8 piece dinner was over 23 bucks and that was for 8 pc chicken 1 tiny side and 4 biscuits. That's just way too expensive for this area. Even KFC has better deals and they're a yank also. So I cannot really recommend this place. Off to a bad start in my opinion. read more

If I could give them a negative rating I would. I've only been to this location 4 times. Each time my order was wrong. Twice I came back to correct. The first time I asked for mild and I got spicy. The second time I asked for Cajun rice and I got fries. The third time, during the pandemic and waiting 25 minutes, I ordered two dinners-one spicy and one mild-two Cajun shrimp samplers. I got two dinners -both mild- and only one shrimp sampler. Today, I waited for 20 minutes and ordered a two piece dark, mild with green beans. I got a two piece white. Sorry This is my first "No Star Review". First off, I am a long time huge fan of Popeyes Chicken, but this is establishment is a disgrace. The restaurant is a new build Popeyes and I was hoping it would be better than the MLK Lansing location which I give at best 2 stars. Long wait at drive through while waiting noticed the lot wasn't even finish paved, shoddy brickwork, dumpy site, no landscaping. That was my first clue of what to expect. After a eternal wait at the drive through I pull up to the window and waited while I observed at least 5 frantic staff in panic mode. Finally after another long wait at the window I recieved my combo. The chicken was cold and tough like it had sat under heat lamps all day. The biscuit was cold and tough and the cajun rice burned and uncooked and dry, the gizzards in the mix also burned black. In fact, I am so upset being ripped off almost $10.00 I am going to contact corporate on both Lansing locations absolutely deplorable excuses for a Popeyes. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. The food is usually fine, when the order is correct. First, because they refuse to offer carry out, you have to wait 30-45 mins in the drive-thru. They'll very rudely tell you they don't except coupons and give you some story about how the company that prints the coupons created coupons for their store without their consent. Second, if you order chicken fingers, they won't ask you what sauce(s) you'd like when you order and when you arrive at the window they'll refuse to give you sauce and say that you have to pay for it (even though the chicken fingers come with it) and you should've ordered the sauce at the same time your ordered the chicken fingers. If you've not been to a Popeyes in a while and are unfamiliar with their menu, don't ask them any questions as they'll talk demeaningly to you and laugh inconsiderately as they think you're an idiot Why won't yelp let you give "0" stars? Also, this is ONLY for the restaurant on MLK as It's the only one in south lansing. read more

Honestly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They only have a drive thru but I waited in line for 30 before ordering when only 4 cars were ahead of me. When I got to the ordering screen I waited 2 min before realizing they won't say anything first (almost thought it was broken). When I finally said "hello?" To inquire they just gave me a "just a minute" As if that wasn't that bad, I got no napkins for my order or condiments for that matter. Here's the clincher--this is the second time this happened. I would give my experience a zero if I could. I downloaded the app. I was told a coupon was only good for 15 minutes, which is a joke. So I waited until I was at the speaker to redeem the coupon. Mysteriously the app failed when I was at the speaker. I plead my case to the order taker, asking them to honor the $24.99 coupon. They would not. So, I continued through drive through with my daughter's $10 order. The Popeye's app mysteriously started to work again, as soon as I pulled away from the drive thru speaker. When I got to the window to pay, I showed the Popeye's employee the coupon code on my phone, and that their app malfunctioned at the speaker. I offered to pull into a parking space while they assembled my order. The manager refused. I cannot remember when I had worse customer service, anywhere. I spent about 10 minutes waiting in the drive thru lane because they had the doors locked to the public. Once I finally pulled up I was treated rudely.
