I visited this Popeyes on 4-6- 2026. I ordered online, when I got there. The manager was preparing my food. I ordered a three-piece, chicken, tender, and a shrimp box. I checked my order before I left the store. My shrimp were hard as a rock. They probably were sitting up under the heat for hours and my chicken tenders were cold. I did not want my order. I told him they can keep it and I'm going to dispute it with my credit card because Nagul a manager said it was nothing that they can do . This Popeyes is much more convenient than the one on Terril rd (off the 22). The drive through line here is usually much shorter. Terril rd often backs up to the street... I haven't noticed that problem with this one Also the mobile pickup is quite easy. Even though the dine is still not allowed due to covid, order pick up is quick and easy. read more

I stopped for lunch at the Popeye's on Terrill Road in Scotch Plains for a chicken tender sandwich. This fast food restaurant has off street parking, a drive thru window and both indoor and outdoor seating. The very clean dining area has less tables than they used to which leaves a spacious but awkward large space in the middle of the room. There was a new face at the cash register. This delightful young lady, Josely(I assume is her name from the receipt), welcomed me with a smile and took my order. What an improvement over the previous order takers who looked like they were about to drop dead of boredom as they spoke the lines to the script they had been forced to say. There was a different cook as well. The sandwich consisted of breaded, fried boneless chicken breast with dressing and pickles on a hoagie roll, was hot and tasty. The cole slaw was like wet raw cabbage. There was some thin white dressing but it was void of any taste. The proteins and biscuits here have always been a treat. The sides have always been disappointing and since it's a bit pricey for fast food they really should improve them. Overall I was pleased and I hope this is a sign of an improved Popeye's. Worst service anywhere. Very very slow. Takes 20-30 minutes to place an order and pick it up via the drive thru. And it's not like you can avoid the drive thru and go inside the store to order. No one is allowed in the store except employees. This is July 2022. The pandemic is over. The drive thru lines are only 4-6 cars long. So one would think service would be faster. And if the line is longer than 4 cars, cars waiting at the back of the drive thru line is on a busy street (with other cars honking or buzzing by). Staff is not friendly.
