1/24/21: BLAH! That's all I have to say. They were dead when we got in the drive they which was around 6:45 pm. We wanted spicy strips...they were out. We wanted spicy wings...they only had mild. We asked for a chicken sandwich...shockingly they had it. The cashier said that they are selling so much chicken & that's why they are out. That's funny because there were no other customers in site. It was like a cohost town. The chicken we got was cold and nasty. The sandwich was ok. It wasn't fresh fresh, but it wasn't nasty like the whole pieces of chicken. The biscuit was hard and cold like a hockey puck. The fries were cold and disgusting. This is our second and final time here. We literally went across the street to KFC after this visit & the chicken was fresh and delicious. read more

Regardless of who is first in line, they will serve Spanish speakers before non-Spanish speakers. I will never return to this store. Very poor service. When I pointed out to the Spanish-speaking waitress that I came before the Spanish speaking person, she eyed me up and down, and then silently handed me my food. She then immediately turned her attention to the Spanish-speaking woman behind me and continued carrying on her conversation. I would give this location zero stars if I could. As 75+ y.o. seniors out for lunch for first time in a long while on April 16, 2026 around 1PM, we spent $40 for a family meal thinking we could eat on this again. We even ate in---a real treat! Yet, once we opened the box of chicken, we realized this was not quality food as my husband was a cook in the ANG and still prepares all our meals at home. Every time we have his prepared chicken at home, we remember that horrible experience! There weren't that many pieces, too large for an individual -- a family meal? The chicken had been double/triple battered and dipped, a method we concluded was probably an effort sell 'warmed' up pieces in hopes of getting rid of them! Each piece had more hard crust than chicken meat! Crunchy and hard to bite and chew. We took it home thinking we will rework it and it will be a lesson learned. Not everyone cares about selling quality foods. It wasn't a busy time, maybe a couple customers. We vowed never to eat there again; $40 is a lot for seniors; or anyone that would be sold such poor-quality food! Whomever manages or owns this location should do some serious investigation. Horribly understaffed, only 3 people working. I ordered 3 tenders (no combo) and waited 15 minutes. Not due to waiting on fresh ones, since the tray behind the cashier was full, also not because of a long line since the 2 people in after me got their combo orders, the two workers simply forgot I was waiting despite me standing in front of them the whole time. I had to remind them I was waiting, and the manager had to check on every customer to see if they were helped. Don't waist your time here. read more

We're new to the area and this is the closest one we have. First time we went they completely messed up our order. Tonight we went back, they told my husband it'd be a few minutes for his boneless wings and to wait in the parking lot. Cool. No biggie. We went on a Tuesday afternoon around 5pm and they had no unsweetened tea. And no butter/margarine for the biscuits. The girl behind the counter couldn't have cared less. No apologies for being out of items on their menu. The "red" beans and rice looked like pinto beans and rice mush. No actual whole beans. Most times for a chain, there's nothing unique. However, this place is unique....uniquely terrible. Fast food.....not quite. Be prepared to wait....and wait....and wait. Like, I expect bread baskets when I wait this long. Actually, you would go through a few baskets of bread....it's that long. Order was wrong twice, and treated me asking for what I paid for as if it was an inconvenience. Yeah this place is kinda awful....oh; the food. Bad...just bad. Poorly cooked. I love Popeyes. I love Popeyes a lot. Not this one. I've had bad experience after bad experience here (not receiving food we paid for, the constantly broken drink machines, half the menu not being available, rude service, etc.; it's always something), and like an idiot I have kept coming back because it's the closest one to my home and I'm responding to the siren's song of that delicious chicken. I'm such a dummy. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm done with this location forever, I swear. Here's what happened: I pull up to the drive thru. I'm super patient with drive thru workers. Their job sucks. People are rude to them all day. Their job is NOT easy. The woman I dealt with is doing a tough job that isn't fun. I get it. Would it be nice to get friendly service? Of course. Do I understand if a drive thru worker isn't super chipper? Totally. But I am ALWAYS very nice to them because (1) people should just be nice, (2) their job sucks, and (3) they handle your food. I place an order for a spicy chicken sandwich combo and an apple pie. "I have 3," the lady says abruptly. Silence. "Uh, are you running out?" I ask. "I have 3 - blackened, spicy, and regular," she says. I repeat, my order, "I'd like the spicy please, and an apple pie." She gave me my total and I pulled around. When I got to the window, she said, "It'll be six minutes for the apple pie." I said I didn't want to wait for the pie, but it took five minutes for the manager to come void the transaction. I continued to smile. I left with my sandwich, my red beans and rice, and my drink. I started to take a sip of my drink and I was grossed out. It had a mildew-y smell. I dumped it out of my window at a red light so that smell didn't fill my truck. I got home and I found that i has been given the wrong sandwich. AfterI ordered the spicy sandwich twice, I received the classic which has mayo on it, and I don't like mayo. So I offered it to my wife, and she immediately said, "This bun is nasty!" She showed it to me and it sure was. It was somehow simultaneously stale and soggy. The outside had the crisp, stale feeling, and the inside was wet. We threw it away. I'm done with them. read more

Don't even waste your time. GO TO KFC ACROSS THE STREET. Went in to the place with my son to grab something to eat. Placed our order and waited 20 minutes to check what's up. Was told it almost ready. Waited 10 more minutes still no food. Asked for refund and was told by manager the owner is on the phone and he doesn't give refunds. Place is a joke. Had the last laugh. Bank said they will get money back, Popeyes corporate has filed a case number against him for breaking corporate policy. read more

The food was good. The service was terrible. I waited in line for over 15 minutes and I was only 1 behind one other that was first. The cashier was doing everyone job but her. The cashier wasn't focus on the customers in line. Then she didn't get my order correct. The restaurant was fairly clean. Had a terrible experience here Jan 2020. For some reason decided to try again today. Bad idea! Order took 10+ minutes. They were not busy. Finally grabbed my order and left because it took so long. I didn't check it which was a big mistake. No biscuit. Ordered spicy chicken got regular. No sauce at all on the sandwich. Never, ever again! A family member just came back from Popeyes here in Williamsburg. The thigh had yellow spots.. which means the chicken is spoiled/not safe to eat. The workers gave her the run-around saying that if she got the food over 2 hours ago, then she couldn't get a refund. She was able to get her refund because it was only a few minutes later that she noticed the yellow spots on her chicken. This Popeyes need to shut down ASAP. It is not safe to eat here. It makes me wonder if other customers will experience food poisoning soon because it's still open, even though, the chicken is spoiled. Just leaving this Popeyes now and it is by far the worst one that I have ever been to. Over an hour wait for chicken after being told they do not give refunds. Why does every Popeye's that I go to south of the Mason-Dixon line suffer horribly from POOR SERVICE? I don't understand it. Every Popeye's that I have gone to in PA, NJ and CT has been fine service-wise. Everyone south of the Mason-Dixon line has had horrific service. This one was no different. I waited almost 20 minutes in the drive thru line to get served, and there was but one vehicle ahead of me. Had I known, I would have gone to Chik-fil-A that was near the store were at just before this. This was even worse as when I got to the window, it didn't appear that this Popeye's was understaffed. Plenty of people standing around doing nothing. The food was typical Popeye's quality, bring the score up to a 3-star rating, but I for one won't be putting up with this kind of service much longer. Sad to see a loss of food quality and store professionalism/customer service. Ordered a 12 piece family meal that comes with 2 large sides and 6 biscuits. Received our order minus French fries (our second large side choice). Came back in to the store and alerted the employee our fries were missing. His response "we have no French fry boxes." I was a bit confused by that response. I again explained that he owed us a large fry order. As you can see in my picture, the fries he gave me were in a small "nugget" box. Truly disappointing and unacceptable. So here I am with a family meal order and a small box of fries. Adding insult to injury, our chicken was not fresh and not spicy (we asked for spicy). In the end, we were hungry and ate some of the food and threw away the remaining. Prices have increased and that's okay, but I cannot settle for price increase and food quality and service decrease. Drove 35 miles to try the new chicken sandwich. Placed the order at 2:06 still do not have the sandwich. I am not the only one waiting. Even though this is a franchise we come here because of what we've come to expect from the LA Popeyes we usually visit. I went here today (Tuesday 11-5-19$ around 4 o'clock for the new chicken sandwich I was second in line for the drive thru, it took maybe 10 minutes but the staff was very friendly and the food was excellent I tried both the spicy chicken sandwich and regular, spicy was the best and is better than Chick-Fil-A in my opinion They also have really good red beans & rice and Gallon jugs of sweet tea to-go I saw someone training an employee on the register, all those reviewers that left negative remarks should be a little bit more considerate because they seem to making an effort to do a good job! The employees are great! Awesome customer service however the management of food distribution is bad. The chicken is never ready. Every time we go there we have to wait 8 mins for them to cook chicken. When you go there parking lot is packed? I will be honest. Fast food is fast food. But this was the worst fast food experience I have ever had. And my family that was with me completely agrees. We waited in the drive through for 20 minutes only to be told to go wait at the front of the parking lot. We went inside after that to see what the problem was and waited for another 15 minutes until we received our food AND my order was missing things. What made it worse was that the manager was completely absent for the entire ordeal. She went in and out of the place 2 times. While she was in the restaurant, my brother-in-law ordered a chicken sandwich only to have the manager tell him "no chicken sandwich for you". Not once but twice. The only way to assume that she was kidding was with the fact that she added a little smirk after it before walking away and then once again walking out the door. The Piece dé resistance was that as we were leaving the manager came back in...AGAIN...told the 5 of us of how she loves to watch a horror movie were people are mutilated and loves the gore and laughs at it (sparing you from a few fun words that made it worse). Like I said, it was the worst experience I have ever had at a fast food establishment. If you want Popeyes take a longer drive to one a little further away. It will save you time and frustration compared to what we just experienced. read more
