Stumbled into Seastar without realizing it was Seattle Restaurant Week, which turned out to be a happy accident. The prix fixe gave us a chance to work through a wide swath of the menu. The room was packed, mostly business dinners that day. The bread basket alone got us excited (kicking myself for not snapping a photo). Drinks were solid too. The grilled octopus was the standout for me. The Parmigiano-crusted petrale sole was comfort food done right: golden, crispy crust with mashed potatoes and haricot verts. We closed with the passion fruit panna cotta and crème brulee. Heads up: service was good, and there's a 20% service charge on top of the check.

Went here for the first time for happy hour and was immediately impressed with all the friendly and helpful staff. Very inviting and offered great suggestions on menu items. Started off with the Call Me Ol' Fashioned cocktail which is their take on the classic. Well made with one large ice cube. Also had 12 fresh shucked oysters that were amazing. After that, ate several others items off the menu, all was great. I was very impressed with the consistency in quality across all the food and service. I will be back to try more options.

I found this restaurant while at a conference in town. What a great find. The oysters were very good. The salad and fish were excellent. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Visited last weekend and had a really nice experience. The food was great, with both appetizers and main courses standing out in flavor and quality. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly throughout. The only downside was the desserts, which were disappointing compared to the rest of the meal.

Had a lovely dinner at Seastar. I think we spent around 3 hours there and the waiter was incredibly patient and helpful. It has a very nice elevated modern look with dramatic lighting. I ordered the Grilled Thai Shrimp dish which was amazing. We also ordered a variety of rolls (Spicy Salmon, Super Dave, Pete's Magic Dragon) which were all great. The pineapple cheesecake was delicious. I got a Sparkling Raspberri Cosmopolitan which was delightful as well. Every thing I ate here was amazing and I would certainly come again.

    Truffle fries. Really good.

Came here on Saturday night. Place was packed. Ambiance--cozy, romantic. Service--amazing, from coat check to our server. Food was ok. My partner liked his fish/sole. I thought it was on the salty side. Three fish crudo app was good and filling! Grilled Octopus was good. Spicy ahi roll was just ok. Prob wouldn't order sushi again. Their truffle fries are really good

Came here for an Anniversary dinner - nice restaurant in Bellevue Ordered some beverages and for our entrees we had the scallops and the cedar salmon. Food was warm and tasty. We enjoyed it. For dessert we had the passion fruit Panna cotta - this was light and refreshing. The house made fruit cocktail on top was a nice touch. In regards to service - there wasn't much communication outside of the team taking our order and delivery the food to us. Overall - the food was good. Service in my mind could be a bit better.

Decided to treat myself to a nice dinner, and made same day reservations for seastar. There's validated parking in the below garage (amazing ty). We were greeted and sat immediately. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks, I was taken through a whole maze to my seat lol For food, I ordered the diver sea scallops with this cream corn base and a passion fruit panna cotta for dessert. The scallops themselves were okay. They were nicely cooked, plump, and juicy, but the flavor was so off. They had this soapy, baking soda-y taste that could only be masked by eating them with the bacon in the dish. The cream corn base was, on the other hand, rich and flavorful. But it was so heavy, I started getting tired of the flavor by the time I was done. Passion fruit panna cotta was overall pretty good. I liked the tart and sweet flavors. The texture was a bit off though. Was a bit more grainy than I'd like. Other qualms about the food: presentation felt like they were trying to be cute and fancy, but it felt sloppy. Portion sizes were also on the smaller size, especially given the price. The panna cotta itself was like a quarter cup of actual dessert, and $12 Service was okay. They were attentive and quick. But at times, it felt a little curt and unwelcoming. Overall, not an awful experience, but wouldn't come back. There's definitely better restaurants to treat yourself to.

Steelhead with apple wood smoked white shrimp

Continuing to offer great service, good food! Nice place to have a celebratory meal. Just want to add more pics. So glad we tired the: - Torched Salmon Belly - Black sesame sushi rice, shiso leaf, unagi sauce, $22 - yummy! - Dungeness crab bisque, $17 (cup) - always a favorite! - Miso Glazed Sablefish (Black Cod) - with braised baby bok choy, grilled shiitakes, snow peas, jasmine rice cake, $49 - love the outside crispiness of the rice cakes! Black Cod was nicely cooked with the miso glaze. Baby bok choy, shiitakes, and snow peas were cut up and mixed together -- I tatsed the shittakes and baby bok choy, but not the snow peas but still great tasting! - Steelhead with apple wood smoked white shrimp (3 shrimp pcs) - Ancho-chili, SW mash cake, chili hollandaise, lime crème, $57 - pleasantly suprised to taste the smokiness in the steelhead! Wonderfully done!

Deviled Eggs with smoked salmon and wasabi tobiko

I enjoyed a delicious happy hour at Sea star. I ordered the deviled eggs and Seared Ahi (the Ahi appetizer not on the happy hour menu). Both were so yummy and freshly made. It's getting so hard to find truly good Ahi anymore. Or even real Ahi, which is becoming so challenging to find. The Ahi Sea Star served was perfection And their deviled eggs were just as good as always, served with wasabi tobiko. It's been a minute since I've been here and I am so happy that Sea Star's food quality and staff are just as amazing as they always have been. Also kudos to the couple who started to sit down at a table that had just opened up, until they saw us get up from the sushi bar to walk over to the same table that became available. When they saw us start to walk back to the sushi bar, they offered us the table . This was SO nice of them, since they realized we had been there longer and didn't really want to sit at the sushi bar. So rare these days and so very kind. Yep, going back again soon!

I was here 4 months ago and ate at John Howie Steak House on a colleague's recommendation. This is the seafood sister restaurant and I came here with my manager who is from Finland. We took an early reservation in Finland it's 10 hours ahead and being from ATL I'm 3 hours ahead. So Anna the hostess greeted us and put us in one of the best tables in a quiet area which worked out super nicely for us. Our server was Gretchen, she was very friendly and professional, gave great advice on the menu and knew it backwards and forward. We didn't eat all day so we started with a small seafood tower that was made for two. Perfect in every way, tempura shrimp with a beurre blanc, crab cakes and arugula salad, and diver scallops. We also got the three fish crudo, which had one piece of each fish for both of us. The pepper (black and chili) kinda can get you so be forewarned! For entrees my colleague got the steelhead with 3 extra shrimp, I went with the Dungeness crab roll and the Dungeness crab bisque. (When in Rome). Both were exceptionally done, I was really happy with my choices! The fish looked crazy delicious and was really well done too. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It's busy but not early, and they offer a price fixe menu for early birds, perfect for those who want to try high end food without breaking the bank. Parking is validated up to 3 hours, also a giant bonus! Support small owned businesses! This one is just as good as its sister steak house.

We finally tried Seastar after all of these years because they had a non seafood option for my honey to join us. We had a wonderful meal and a wonderful time in this unassuming HUGE restaurant. We missed the JH bread basket, so we were glad to get a few in the offering. The apps; hot and sour Thai shrimp soup was nice, the salad was delicious, and the tuna roll must have been dependent on sriracha for flavor because I'm a salmon girl and even the rice didn't seem to have any flavor. The mains; my steelhead was cooked med rare to perfection and complimented perfectly by mashed potatoes and asparagus, the Opakapaka over rice with mango Mac sauce was a sweeter experience, and my honey is still talking about his pesto Chicken and risotto cake (as was the server who brought it to say it's one of his fave "which is a weird thing to say at a seafood restaurant"). The sweet ending; the flourless chocolate was too rich for one with the caramel, so I went harder on the crème brûlée and took most of it home. Gretchen was our waitress and she was a delight throughout the meal. JH remains the only consistent restaurant group I've been to where the waitstaff def earns the auto service charge. We will be back for sure, maybe this week even for a repeat.

Imagine my surprise when we pulled into this place. The parking was plentiful, but it was almost full! Hmmm must be a popular place! You check in at the hostess station and they give you a buzzer when your table is ready. It was about 1:00 on a Sunday and our wait for a table of 3 was 30! minutes. Not bad at all. You can order food from the food truck and get drinks while you wait. We went with some fried oysters and white wine and a cola made in Seattle. Everything was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised that the oysters came with yummy, perfect French fries too! Our buzzer went off and our table was ready. We ordered 2 dozen raw oysters, seafood chowder, clams and a baguette. Everything was so good. The FRESHEST oysters I've ever eaten. There was a variety of oysters, some smaller than others, but they were delicious. Idk if I can ever eat raw oysters ever again. This is the place if you like raw oysters. This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! They share parking spots with the rest of the plaza and it's not difficult to find a spot if you're willing to walk just a few extra feet. Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

Our server (big guy, originally from SoCal) was friendly and showed us the chalkboard that listed types of available oysters and their flavor profiles. We both ordered clam chowder, she ordered mussels and I ordered the flounder po'boy special. The fries that came with the po'boy were excellent, with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The flounder had a very light breading and the flesh was moist. The meh: The chowder was flavorless and had a bit too much flour or corn starch in it. It really needed fresh herbs and seasoning. We actually added salt to it, something we almost never do. The broth with the mussels also lacked flavor. And the po'boy really needed more aioli or tartar sauce. Also, my chair was repeatedly bumped by servers and other patrons. So, our ~$120 lunch (w/tip) left us wishing we had headed north to Seabolt's instead.
