Another cool looking place to try.

We stopped in on our way from Atlanta airport headed to Murphy, NC. I love 'yelping' local places near by and came across Pop's. It's always a gamble to venture off the freeway in a town you don't know but the reviews said it was worth it. We found Pop's on a prominent corner in quaint downtown Canton, GA. It's a beautiful building. Wonder if it's a refurbished Pharmacy or Mercantile from an era gone bye? Service was great. Great suggestions were made. We found out that they don't use a microwave at all and everything is made to order in the kitchen out in the open. It's part of a building that has other upscale and interesting establishments as well as a suite with workspaces. We're glad we stopped in. You should go!

First time for lunch on a Saturday. Love the openness of the place. Grab a menu & order @ the counter. Great selections of pastas. Salads & sandwiches. We ordered the spaghetti & meatballs, chopped salad & cheesy bread w/marinara the cheesy bread was ready so fast. We sat @ a 2 top. It's so cute in here with a friendly vibe. There's one side that has Italian merchandise & cute kitchen products. Upfront are tables to relax & chat. The cheesy bread app was delicious. Our meals came & looked great. My husband loved his spaghetti & meatballs. The noodles are much thicker & really looked good. My chopped salad was delicious. Chickpeas, salami, veggies with a great dressing with a slight kick made for a perfect meal. They have drinks & coffees too. The staff makes the place & you can see the concern of making everyone happy. Will gladly come back. Great spot in downtown Canton!

This space is so beautiful. On my first visit it was decorated for Christmas and I loved it. I'm glad to see more restaurant options in downtown Canton too. The service at the counter was friendly enough. She gave some recommendations and described the specials. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was really tasty! It had plenty of egg and cheese and the bread was fantastic. The house special potatoes were not at all what I was expecting or cared for. They were in a sweet sauce that was so sugary??? I wonder if I could just order them with the cheese because I did like that. I posted pictures of both. I would come back. The environment was very nice.

Fresh and friendly...salads greens are crisp, while shrimp are super fresh and not fishy tasting, lemon and basil dressing flavor-forward- complimented by a side of whipped honey ricotta with crostini. One salad is very shareable. Staff is thoughtful and attentive. Located in downtown adjacent to gazebo.

Not what I was expecting. POPS Canton is incredibly popular in our area and takes up the best looking corner in the best looking building in downtown Canton GA. The restaurant is huge inside, and if you have never been here before, you might want to get the low down before you get there. This is not table service, and "what to do" is not immediately clear. We walked in and up to what looked like a host stand. There was no line so we didn't see that you walk to your left and order at a counter area. You have to grab your drinks at said counter, order, and sit down. Pick your own table because they don't seat you. The staff are INCREDIBLY nice and friendly, and they made some recommendations. We ordered pasta and a chopped salad to share. When we sat down, there was no silverware. The food came out incredibly quickly so we had to ask for it. We didn't realize that you had to get your own silverware and we didn't see where it was until one of the staff members got it for us. Oh by the way, the drinks....no refills if you order a Coke. Even the water was bottled so if you wanted another one, you had to buy it. (I guess, I don't know for sure). The food was good, especially the salad and the bread. We weren't wild about the pasta. It was just ok. Oh and I asked about a dessert menu and a staff member said "she would go get it". That was odd to me but realized you have to order dessert with the rest of the meal or you have to get back up and potentially stand in line to order it at the counter. We got tiramisu. It was incredibly over sweet. There are plenty of menu items that I am sure are really good! Here's the thing....the staff are wonderful!! So nice and helpful if you look lost like we were. Understand what you are getting BEFORE you go, because, like we were, you might be disappointed and confused. The food will come out super quickly, and the staff will take great care of you. I wouldn't call this a date restaurant. The experience is fast food, and the food, for us didn't live up to our expectations and price point. Getting your meal, "how you get it here" was just odd. It's the same exact experience as McDonald's but with a really friendly staff (but no drink refills) This place COULD be really special if they simply had table service in my humble opinion. What a waste of environment and incredible staff.

We're walking around downtown Canton looking for a "new" restaurant and after looking at several menu's, decided on POPS (Palermo's Original Pasta and Sandwiches). You check out the menu and order at the counter and they bring you your meal. I ordered the Seafood Scampi and my wife ordered the sausage sandwich with peppers and onions with sauce on the side. They brought our food pretty quickly considering they cook it right there, and the dishes were nice and hot! I hate when you get your meal and you can tell it's been sitting somewhere waiting to be picked up and you get it like warm. My wife said her sandwich was delicious, the peppers and onions were cooked perfectly. My scampi was also very good. The spaghetti was a fatter noodle, but very good and made fresh every day on site! The service was excellent. Very attentive to water glasses, asking if we needed anything, asking if everything was ok. Not too much, just enough. It's an open restaurant, but not too noisy, and comfortable. We'll definitely be back. This was a nice find for us in Canton!

This is a cute place in downtown canton. Me and a friend went for lunch. Lots of free parking. The staff is very friendly.. and the owner actually came to talk to us too. He's really personable. My friend ordered one of their salads she loved it. It looked like it was dressed well and well balanced. I ordered one of their fresh pastas that I've never heard of and a side of the spicy coleslaw. The pasta is cooked well. I just felt like it needed more seasoning, but they do give you a good portion size and a small piece of bread with it. The inside of this place gives a good vibe.. very welcoming and not overly packed with too many tables.

A gem downtown! Lots of space and we were seated immediately. Their Caesar is absolutely delicious and probably the best one I've had so far. Our food tasted fresh and came out looking beautiful. Inside, they have lots of little goodies available to buy. Will definitely be going back again!

Torchietti with pesto broccolini, sausage, roasted squash, herbed ricotta. Excellent.

I'd give more stars if I could. Sorry, Atlanta, this awesome Italian eatery is in Canton. Yes it is worth the drive. Huge dishes of gorgeous perfectly cooked homemade pasta, sauces are divine, fresh veggies, eggplant meatballs. Love the feel inside this historic building. I would be here weekly if this were in my neighborhood.

We stopped in for the first time tonight. It was very surprising. You are greeted at the door by a person handing you a menu and telling you to go to the counter to place your order. You then go to your table, seat yourself and your food is brought out to you fairly quick. The food was very fresh and great tasting. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it had eggplant meatballs, different but very good. We also tried the bolognese al aforno, which was like lasagna and very yummy. The meal ended with cheesecake that was so fresh. The owner, I think, stopped by our table and was very friendly. He asked if we liked the cheesecake and we said we were thinking about taking a slice home it was so good. He returned to our table a minute later with a slice and said merry Christmas.

Amazing sandwiches! The portions are humongous. I came here starving and could only eat a half. The restaurant has a great ambiance, love the counter service for a relaxed feel but the decor makes it feel very upscale. We loved the American Dream and Bee Sting sandwiches and can't wait to come back to try the pastas. 10/10 recommend.

My in-laws raved about POPS Canton, so we decided to check it out with them. Located in downtown Canton, POPS stands for Palermo's Original Pasta & Sandwiches and was created to offer a simple, fresh and delicious Italian-American dining experience with a focus on quality without the frills. Homemade pastas, sauces, meatballs and sausage are the centerpiece of the menu along with classic and creative sandwiches and salads. POPS is situated in the historic Jones Building and offers a beautiful yet comfortable dining room. POPS operates as somewhat of a fast casual restaurant where you place your order at the counter, are given a number, then have your meal brought to you. The Spicy Shrimp Alla Vodka ($22) immediately caught my eye. I LOVE spicy vodka pastas, especially with seafood, so that was an easy choice for me. It came with gulf shrimp, cherry tomato, spicy vodka sauce, and a small side of bread. The entree was incredible. The pasta had great consistency and the spicy vodka sauce was flavorful. I absolutely loved it. Our table also shared a bottle of red. I can definitely see why POPS is a local favorite and I look forward to returning when I come back to Canton!

Me and my Nana came to POPS for the first time and the food was delicious, the server was very kind. The restaurant was so beautiful on the inside and looked like an awesome place to have a work meeting, hangout with friends or do solo-work.

Each alcove has 8 or so booths. They also have a dining room with tables for larger parties. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and two meatballs. The birthday boy ordered the eggplant parm that comes with a side of spaghetti and marinara. Both portions were generous! My spaghetti was delicious! The sauce grips the noodles & is flavorful. I'll preface this with my husband's family is Italian.... Sicilian. So making sauce (they call it gravy) is an all day event. It's not bolognese like Provino's meat sauce. I appreciate Provino's because it's not acidic like some marinaras can be (no offense Nana!). He loves the eggplant parm because it's flavorful and they prepare as it should be. They dry the eggplant to keep it from being soggy. It's really beautifully done. The house merlot was delicious. A single glass was $7.50 but a bottle is $15. Nice!! Our server, Timothy, was attentive and chill. We'll be back because the Daniella is amazing and well, we just enjoy Provino's!

Food came out promptly and I drove it straight home for the family. The pizza was some of the best I've had in the area and I will definitely get that again. The buffalo wings were pretty generic tasting and the lemon pepper didn't have any discernible flavor. In all I would not get the wings again. My kids raved about the penne and red sauce with meatballs, saying it was the best they had ever had,l and my wife enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip. I would normally give 3.5 stars, but am bumping it up to 4 since the kids loved their meal. Overall, I would go back for the pizza, pasta, and dip, but skip the wings.

With a heavy mound of onions and mushrooms on top, the grits ended up feeling dry and pulled all the moisture out of the bite. The flavor itself was fine, just lacking moisture and balance. We also ordered the scallops and risotto. The risotto was the standout. Bright, fresh finish, great texture, and not overpowering. The scallops, unfortunately, were the opposite. They had a noticeably strong smell right away, which usually means they're not as fresh as they should be, especially at a $40 price point. We took them home, but every time we opened the fridge the smell hit us, so they ultimately went in the trash. Despite this particular experience, we've always enjoyed this place.
