We are in Harvard Sq for some shopping and lunch and noticed a Popup Bagel shop there. We remembered really liking the bagels we picked up from their waterfront location last summer...so we had to pick up a 6 pack on the way back to the car. 6 bagels of your choice along with 1 smear is $22. I asked what Poppy was (confused it with Sesame) and the lady gave me 1 poppy on the side with our order to try! Needless to say, very good service here from super friendly staff. In the store, you can see the cooks preparing freshly made bagels regularly. The menu is on the side wall and easy to read and comprehend. The store is well decored and gets people in and out efficiently - critical for a small store. Parking will be difficult at Harvard Sq, but the train station is a block away. Be sure to check out Popup Bagel for quality bagels from friendly people.

Phenomenal rip and dip bagels - especially when consumed fresh. Ordered 2 salt bagels and 1 everything bagel with the weekly truffle cream cheese and maple cinnamon butter for $23. Everything came out super fast (no line at around 10:30 on a Saturday) and salt bagels were piping hot to the touch. Friendly staff and great music playing inside.

One of the best bagels I've ever had, it was so fluffy and warm!!! Loved the option as well for the vegan cashew cream cheese. Service was quick, gets very busy in there

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

I chose the Everything Bagel, which had a thin, crispy crust on the outside, but the inside was full of soft, airy textures, and the spiciness of the black pepper was particularly prominent. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it's the best bagel I've ever had. The Favorite: Boiled egg + tomato + avocado, fresh, refreshing, and full of oily aroma, delicate, fluffy, and with a touch of crispness, it's hard not to be the Favorite! I chose the Rosemary Sea Salt Bagel, which, as always, was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with both seasonings having very prominent aromas, becoming more fragrant with each chew. Iced Latte: The milky aroma was incredibly rich!!! I was amazed by the first sip, I loved it. The interior is old and dark, and it gets very hot in the summer, so it's much better to sit outdoors.

Texturewise, an airier, less-dense bagel, closer to Bagelsaurus consistency than Rosenfeld's or Rebelle consistency. -- Coffee: Very good. Was hoping to buy more bagels to take home for further exploration, but on weekends they have a limit of 1. Even though it doesn't make my greater Boston top 5, Black Sheep has its charm and is destined for a return visit. To be continued and I'm hoping to bump up the score.

Friendly staff and even proactive staff, as they realized before I did that one of the bagel items in the bag they handed me was from another person's order and they were still working on one of my items. So, in a way, good that they noticed, but not so good that the incorrect orders I keep reading about are still happening. -- Egg Sandwich on Everything: Seems like a stretch calling this an "Everything" when the seeds are so sparsely applied. Egg was cooked well as requested. Condiments as requested, other than the missing hot sauce. My wife's assessment: "Pretty good but lacked flavor." -- Salmon Spread ("Pate") on Pumpernickel: I loved the caraway seeds on the surface and it had decent flavor. Texture a little tough all the way through. The $5.95 spread didn't get me much thickness or coverage. Also very dry, along with the dry, tough bagel. I didn't taste or feel much salmon or cream cheese. In retrospect, adding tomato for an extra $.95 was a wise move. -- Coffee: Strong, hot, and good. -- Parking: Excellent. Overall, certainly at least doable. It's just that with other better and better value bagel and breakfast options these days, probably wouldn't do again.
