BUYER BEWARE!! CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!! This situation pissed me off enough to start a Yelp just to write this review. I've been a customer for close to 2 years now. Most, if not all of the times I've gone in here the staff is pretty on point and because of it, I tip. I order every few months or so. I wouldn't consider myself a regular in order for them to recognize me if I walked in, but I do order from them whenever we want pizza every now and again. This particular time I was picking this up for a friend. She told me the amount was going to be $27 and some change. Because this is the special that I normally get (The Family Feast), I was aware of the price. I walked in, a bit later than she had told me the pick up time was going to be. This was around 7:30pm or so. I was the only customer in there and there were 2 guys on shift that I've seen before. Now to most of you who are fans of this place like I once was and tip them as I normally did, this might not seem like a big deal to you. But for those of you who value a dollar and know that it's up to the customer to make the decision to tip or not to tip, then this might be something you might appreciate. He told me the price was $30 versus the $27 she told me it was going to be, the transaction was so fast, he didn't offer a receipt. In that moment, since she was going to reimburse me, I thought "well did they raise the price?" So, I asked him, "how much was the total?" He repeated in a matter of fact way, "$30" said it twice and even added "thats what it is." Well, I started to gather the food but I guess my hesitance made him a bit nervous and he slowly as if he was contemplating a move, "walked over to the calculator." "Um, yeah, its $27." He's not a new employee in training, he's worked there for a long time, he knows their prices. I knew he was trying to keep the extra couple of bucks and thought "well damn if he's that hard up for a couple of bucks that he was gonna try and doop me in getting it, then he can keep it." Before I could finish my sentence of "Just.." in a disappointed tone, "keep it." He was already putting it in the tip jar and not as slowly as he walking towards the calculator either. He didn't even open the register to get it. So it was as if he had it sitting there waiting for me to leave so he could pocket it. I wasn't going to, but the situation just didn't sit well with me, so I asked a couple of friends about what they would have done. Btw, my friend wasn't in the position to tip that day either. This was the consensus, "if he did it to you in your face, then who hasn't he done it to over the phone with credit card orders." I decided to put in a call. The manager took the situation lightly and said "do you want me to mail you your change?" Now I don't know if its a lack of maturity or respecting your customer but I had to tell him he was missing the mark. Its not about the couple of bucks kid. Its about not taking advantage of your customer. I shared that I once worked in the food industry myself and even though you might put in all the extra work, not everyone tips and sometimes those that do, just might not be able to every single time, that just goes with the territory of working food. But you are never supposed to steal money for tips. The presumption that its ok to add a tip without the customers consent is bad customer service and whats more, bad business. He said he was going to share this with the owner and would get back to me once he seen that this was not about getting a "free pizza" or getting the "tip sent back in the mail." I never got a call back and when I've called him to follow up, he won't take my call, which leads me to believe he's either in on it (he's been there 9 years he said), its his friend so he doesn't care what he does but the message is clear, BUYER BEWARE! If your gonna buy from these guys, always check your receipts! If they don't offer one, ask for it and check it! Whether your a college kid struggling to get buy and want to treat yourself to a pizza and can't tip that round, or a family trying to treat your kids and can't tip in that moment, make sure these guys aren't taking your money underhandedly. Tips add up people and while I believe its important to do so (tip when you can that is), these kids need to realize its not cool to take peoples money just cause they feel they can get away with it. Because there is another review on here stating they're messing with the prices (jacking up the price from what their flyer prices are- which draw you in) within under a month from my situation, I'll further alert the community on "NextDoor." Gotta let people know to be cautious when dealing with these guys. read more

We live near Porky's so it is on our rotation for pizza night. I like Porky's pies, the only issue I have is they do not put the toppings and sauce to the edge of the pizza, the crust is too wide for my taste, but that won't stop us from ordering from Porky's again. read more

I've been looking for a decent pizza place in my neighborhood and I think I've finally found it. Red Brick is good but too fancy for an "everyday" pizza joint. Papa John's is simple enough but the one near me has the worst service ever. Some of the local places I've tried have been okay but not good enough to keep me coming back. Porky's is nice because it's cheap and simple, for those nights you just want to order a pizza and eat it at home in front of the TV. The pizza is good, not great, but good, good enough to keep me coming back. The service is great - the first time we came here the guy behind the counter had some good suggestions for us (we were indecisive about toppings) and ended up getting us a discount. It was a quick, easy transaction, which is what I like with takeout food. They also have free delivery, if you don't feel like leaving your house at all. Never Ever Again! This place sounded like a good place based on the reviews but I got more than I bargained for. The pizza looked good, but tasted ok with very little flavor. I ordered the 2 med. 1 topping (one Pepperoni and one sausage) And since so many people had great things to say about the garlic knots, i tried those too. They came in 45 min. even though I live 2 major streets away from them and the whole thing cost me $30 (including tip) $27 something for the order. My daughter and my son ate 1 slice of the sausage and I ate 1 slice of each. my daughter and I ate some garlic knots which were pretty good but not great! When my hubby came home, he didn't feel like eating so we saved it in the fridge for the AM. (who doesn't love cold pizza in the morning?) We sat down to watch The Fighter(great movie BTW) and in the last 30min. My stomach felt funny. UhOh I had things coming out from either end and it was not cute! Felt like crap and looked it AND I didn't get to see the end of the movie. The kids were asleep but sure enough my daughter woke up 3 hours later to endure the same as me. 1st thing in the morning I took out the trash from the bathroom and threw it with the Pizza and garlic knots. ok, this review is surreal. i still cannot believe how i was treated in this place. i received an offer in the mail from pork'y and have wanted to try them for some time. i went in today as i was driving by to try them for the first time. i went in and one of the young men there suggested an extra large pizza. he said it was a better value. i said ok, and he proceeded to tell me that the total was $24. the add that was on their counter said a one topping extra large pizza was $14.95. i asked why the large difference. he told me because i ordered a veggie pizza the extra toppings increased the cost. i was only ordering for 2 people so i decided that i would get a medium pizza. i was told that my total was $20.95. i looked at the mailer that they sent me that was on their counter. the price for the veggie pizza showed $16.95. by this time the person i am assuming is the owner because that is how he presented himself told me that this is the price. i pointed to his own printed material and showed him the price. he said to me,"its an error from the printer. it happens all the time." i said to him," you cannot charge me a different price than what is on your own menu". he said, "so sue me! it all goes down hill from there. this guy was so condesending and rude. it felt like he was baiting me into a confrontation with him. he was raising his voice and yelling and looking at me really intently. as if he was going to attack me. he then told me that pricing was subject to change at any time and this was the price. he continued, " so do you want the pizza or not?" he could not be more rude. He was showing me that I was not wanted or valued as a customer. He viewed and treated me as someone who's business did not matter. i was standing there in disbelief that this was even happening. i went in there to patronize a neighborhood business, and i have this really weird interaction with this guy. he went on, "i paid a lot of money for the menus i am not throwing them out because the price is wrong." literally yelling at me, staring me down. i told him i just came in here for pizza.. not to get into this weird fight with him..still he continued to come at me. "do you want the pizza" he kept saying in this really rude tone of voice. i told him ok. but i was so angry that he could treat a customer this way, i said to him, "take your pizza and shove it straight up your ass." then i yelled some other stuff at him. i told him i have never been treated so badly..and i never have. he mocked me the entire time repeating what i said to him. i could not believe that this was happening. in all of my years, i have never, never been treated with such blatent disrespect. it was crazy. he was crazy and he seemed to enjoy treating me badly. thats what so messed up about it. he could care less about the business i was bringing, or that i was a customer who deserved respect. he did not see me as that at all. he saw me as totally insignificant. not worthy of providing service to, not worthy of taking care of, not worthy to care about how my experience was. as an african american we are all to familiar with this kind of blatant disrespect. i must say that it is my opinion that i was treated this way in this establishment because of the color of my skin..being a person of color, we have experienced this before and we know the drill..as i said this is my opinion. If other people of color have experienced this treatment here, there could be a pattern of blatant discrimination. Another yelp post hints of this. they dont have to worry about me coming back..i won't be back, and i hope whoever reads this considers where they spend their money. i was wanting to support a local neighborhood business, and was completly disrespected and humiliated..They spent money to acquire me as a customer by mailing me their flyer. Then when I got there was treated in a way that no customer should be treated. I was simply wanting the price that is printed on their own menu. I didn't think this was too much to ask, or that I should even have to ask. They were overcharging me, and then blaming me, and angry with me because I saw a different lower price on their menu, and wanted that price. Their response is exactly as written in this text. unapologetically. I hope that those that take the time to read this understand that this business's conduct is a sad representation of businesses in Bixby Knolls. I shop in my neighborhood on a regular basis, and have never encountered this kind of service in my entire life. Please do business with those shops and restaurants in our community that treat us well. This place does not deserve my business, and does not deserve the business of any resident of this community. Man I have loved Porky's for years atleast 1 to 2 times a month, but I'm done! Even my 2 large sons would rather have no pizza than waste money at this place one more time ( we dont eat pizza hut, dominoes, papa's etc. Ever). We know good pizza for sure and Porky's was the best until the last year ( in this area), I don't think they have the same suppliers, and they took their logo off their boxes. Im not saying I want my neighbors to know I spend $60 plus on my familys pizza night, but it seems a cheapout for them to use " your friendly neighborhood pizza" on their boxes. they use to pull up in these trick lil british type cabs that said Porky's on top, but they got rid of those too. No sense in calling and complaining, I don't want spit on my pizza. Im not gonna list all the things they need. I don't care about anything really, just make the pizza like before. read more
