Yes I know I've been having a weak September with this being already September 12th with no reviews. We rode to Nicki's Bella Marina over Chuckanut Dr. it's very scenic. We got to Nicki's and it was jammed but we were able two squeeze in at a two top in the bar area. That was fine with us. Our server was very good. I have not had a bad service experience in there. The place is a little divey and very local especially around the bar. No problem there. We like it and fit in fine. Big portions here so bring your appetite and be ready to put in some work. They have massive burgers that are well known but their seafood menu is the star. The menu is large to go with the portions. I always say I'm going to jump around the menu but I never do. There were probably 10 other folks waiting to get in along with us. I take that as a good sign. We were grabbing a fish/shrimp combo to go to enjoy outside so I went in to order while she waited with our little pooch. Delightful vibe in the place while waiting for our order. Staff - truly funny and attentive. Delicious libations were flowing. Nice. The food was solid. Horrible customer service. Arrived at 208pm. Stood there for 10+ mins. I'm a reasonable person, any sort of acknowledgement would have sufficed, "hello, we'll be right with you". Nothing. Cold glares instead. As if myself and 2 teen boys were invisible. We turned around to leave and then a waitress came, no apology or even a greeting, a simple "just 3?" And sat us at a table of her choice. Didn't bother asking our preference. She placed the menus on the table and no one ever came back to offer us water or bother taking our order. The fish and chips were amazing. The salmon Caesar salad was the best I'd ever had. The atmosphere and views can't be beat. However, my son ordered chicken chunks (or whatever they're called) and they were really late (20 minutes) getting to the table and they were inedible. My son isn't picky but he said there were hard chunks in it. When we asked for it to be taken off the bill, it wasn't. Will definitely give them another shot because the place is awesome. Lived in Bham pretty much my entire life and this was the first time I visited. Was not let down! We had a large group and sat right in from the entrance. It had a divey, cafe, bar feel to it. Lots of signs hung inside with a view out the window. Our service was amazing, helpful, and made you feel like you were returning customers. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. When I was looking for dairy free options offered suggestions and what they also liked. I ended up ordering th Baked Potato, with the pulled pork, no butter, add jalapenos and I enjoyed it. Came hot and soft, was great mashed and mixed all together. The radio ads for Nicki's are very enticing and I was in the mood for a big juicy hamburger, so... off I went. This was my first visit. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable, clean bar-type atmosphere with interesting harbor views. Service was prompt and friendly. The bathroom was even clean! There were also a couple of nice touches at each table. There was a complete condiment tray that even included little packets of hand wipes. I really appreciated all that attention to detail. Unfortunately, the experience declined from there on. The hamburger I received had a seriously flawed "bun-to-meat" ratio. There was over one and a half inches of bun and 1/4" of meat. The bun was plain uninspired white bread. It reminded me of Wonder bread in the form of a hamburger bun. The lettuce was not leaf lettuce, but a small amount of shredded lettuce. Likewise with tomatoes. No slices, but just a minute amount of diced. Take a guess about the cheese. Shredded. This hamburger meat was remarkably tasteless. In summary, I would rather have had a Big Boom from Boomers at half the price. Sadly, my hankering for a big, juicy hamburger went unfulfilled. read more

In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated restaurants in Bellingham. The waterfront setting is amazing, the service is friendly, the drinks are strong, the prices are great, and the food is top notch. Not to mention they have amazing specials and a kick-butt happy hour. I recently got to re-visit when I was in town to attend the Downtown Wine Walk and we were looking for dinner-with-a-view. A wrong turn took us to Nicki's completely by accident, and while I hadn't visited in a couple of years I was reminded (some may say by fate) to check them out again. We ended up sitting outside and watching the sunset while nomming on their phenomenal fish 'n chips and sipping on a couple of tasty post-wine-walk beers. Our server was SO funny and friendly! Yeah, the decor is a little outdated and the bar has an 80s vibe, but really...this could be a good thing as it keeps the crowds away, right? And you really can't beat the views! read more

Prawn and bacon salad, lots of lettuce, other additions a little light. Good food, good drinks, great service, great view when it's light out. They hand cut all their fish in-house then batter and fry on order. Same thing with their onion rings. Their burger selection is good and they are fresh and delicious. They also have a build-your-own burger option. Bottomless steak fries. Their boards show all sorts of specials, especially desserts, and they all sounded very tempting. The decor is "fishing town chic". I think it fits in with being right near the marina. Drinks were good pours, our server was super friendly and knew what she was doing. Pro-tip: if you order the fish and chips, flip the fish over immediately and blot it with napkins to keep the coating crispy. Otherwise they'll steam on the bottom. I know that when i'm there I will be treated very well.. How ever the last few times i have been there I have and heard the cook yell and be very unpleasant to them. This is so very sad to see. We've only really gotten fish and chips, fish and chip combos and a couple of apps here, though we've heard the burgers are really good. It's definitely one of my favorite spots for fish and chips! They're hand-battered and they serve it on the iconic newspaper. You get one honkin' piece of fish plus a second smaller one and bottomless steak fries (though we've never actually made it far enough to get a refill). The fish and chips is always on point, if not a little greasy from time to time. The service, on the other hand, is very VERY hit or miss. Sometimes it's great! The servers are friendly and attentive and you get everything you need. Other times...not so much. We came once to sit out on the patio, the server told us to seat ourselves and never came out. We waited for probably 15 minutes without menus or water or anything before the gentlemen at the table next to us had his order taken and had to ask for water for himself too. Another time, we watched the two servers passive aggressively argue our whole meal while simultaneously slamming trays and dishes on empty tables. Well, we visit Nikki's Bella Marina quite regularly. We love their fish and chips and their burgers are awesome but I would stay away from the shrimp cocktail. It's not worth it. We ordered it a few days ago and it was about 15 little tiny bay shrimp thrown into a glass with shredded lettuce underneath it....and a side of cocktail sauce. I don't recall the price but I think it was 10 bucks....not worth it at all. If you're gonna spend an extra 10 bucks, I would recommend just buying an extra piece of fish for your fish and chips meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We started with an order of onion rings which were excellent! Crispy outside with a flavorful batter and nicely cooked onions inside. We both ordered their fish and chips - the wife had their bottomless steak fries and I subbed out the fries for a Caesar salad with a reasonable $1 up charge. The salad was ok as were the fries. Not exceptional but passable. The fish however was over-the-top GREAT!! Possibly the best I've ever eaten. Ever. The batter seemed to be the same as was used on the onion rings. Very good flavor and although it was light in texture it was nice and crispy. The fish was nicely cooked, moist and flaky inside. Did I mention the pieces (2 per order) were HUGE? We only ate one piece and took the second piece home for leftovers. And the house made dill pickle based tarter sauce was very good too. I prefer dill over sweet pickle so it was a win for me. We sat in the bar since there is still reduced seating but service was good. Prices are commensurate with portion size and quality. I'd definitely return when we are in the area. I might even make the 50 mile trip occasionally just for the fish and chips, it's that good. read more

Gosh this place is fun. Pre-pandemic, it was an awesome place for good old fashioned pub food, with as many people as you could fit at a table. It's still got great fish and chips and I can't say enough good things about the endless fries. Because they are endless. Duh. The burgers are also really tasty and the portions of everything are enormous. The bartenders mix great drinks, and service is exactly what you think it should be: fun, engaging, funny, and quite good. They're also really accommodating if you have an allergy or want an addition to your dish. There's nothing better than a fish and chips place in port town, and while there are many here, this is my favorite. While traveling from Seattle to Vancouver BC on vacation from Minnesota we stopped here for dinner and we were definitely not disappointed! Let's start with the service...Mallory was an excellent server! We had her running from the get-go with our drinks (my husband tried 2 samples of beer before deciding on one). She was very personable, fast and efficient. Everything you want in a server! Now on to the food!...We had the fish and chips and pulled pork sandwich (both with yummy steak fries). My husband said it was the best fish and chips he has ever had (and he has had a lot over the years!). The fish batter was crispy and not at all greasy and the fish was flaky and meaty. I really loved it too and the homemade tarter sauce and ranch dressing were SO good as well. The bbq pulled pork sandwich was excellent and probably the best I have ever had. There was homemade (I believe) slaw to go on top and the bun was homemade and didn't get soggy. My husband "doesn't like cole slaw", but I made him take a bite with it and he wanted the rest of his portion with it on it. The atmosphere of this establishment is supper club ish and the view of the harbor didn't hurt the eyes. The weather wasn't the best, but I could see sitting out on the deck if it was. Overall we loved this place and wish it was closer to home. We would definitely recommend it to anyone craving good food and wish we could have tried the burgers too, but there just wasn't enough room in our stomachs. read more

Don't know what we enjoy most, as there is so much to love about this place. Is it the food, the fun & friendly service, the working class vibe, the view? All I know is that my hubby and I go here more often than anywhere else in town. Although they have yummy looking burgers, our go to is the fish & chips. They're fresh, with just the right amount of breading, perfectly cooked every time and never greasy. Dip that fish in their homemade tartar sauce & it's heaven. The menu jokes that their fish & chips are not served with coleslaw, "never has been, never will," but you can indeed order a side of wonderfully seasoned, mayo free slaw. Yum! We often share a single plate as the portions are huge and the fries are bottomless. The fresh caught mussels are tender and served in a most delicious broth. Maybe someday we'll try something else on the menu but why mess with perfection? The service is excellent. They make you feel like a welcomed, old friend. We always have fun and leave feeling happy & satisfied. Great margaritas and a harbor view that can't be beat. Quite apart from being a really nice place to sit overlooking the marina, this is a very nice restaurant and bar with seating inside by large picture windows, and tables on the deck under the sun. First the service is a little slow. But, unless you're in a hurry this is not a problem. The wait staff is friendly, loud and wanting to share a fun experience with you. We ordered coffee to go with lunch. It's not fancy coffee...just plain, but freshly brewed and very nice. My wife ordered a Four Alarm burger with a side of slaw and fries. It was a huge burger and was very tasty with two large grass fed burger patties. I ordered the fish and chips, the restaurant's signature dish. The fries were excellent, the fish portions were large and delicious. Though deep fried, the fish wasn't greasy in the least, and the batter was like a slightly thicker tempura batter.
