Small Caesar

The Crossing is an amazing Steakhouse in gorgeous downtown historic Norcross. It's located right off of the train tracks, which means you may hear a train come by while dining, but I feel it only improves the ambiance of the restaurant. They offer indoor, bar, and outdoor seating, as well as a weekend brunch menu. It can get busy at times - I recommend making a reservation especially for bigger parties. The location partners with the In-Kind app which allows you to earn fewer dollars back for a future visit. Every meal I've had here has been top-tier. The steak is always cooked to perfection, and the sides are extremely flavorful. My family and I tend to always order side salads in addition to our meal, which truly are generous portions. I love this place and love the location!

Came in sat at bar. There was a large party to the room to the right of the bar. The staff didn't seem to up staffed to help cover it and the restaurant. The bartender was young and very sweet (I didn't catch her name) and was trying her best to keep up. However the party to the right was coming out and ordering drink after drink and it made it hard for her to focus on anything else. We got our drinks and ordered but others who sat after us went un attended. We choose to eat and leave and not stay longer because of the staffing issues. Now to food and drinks. I got the signature cranberry Moscow mule it was good and refreshing. My husband ordered a whiskey sour and she looked it up and made one. She did a good job on it he enjoyed it although it was 100% right still tasted good. I ordered shrimp screwers with brussels and a side of scallop potatoes. My husband ordered bourbon pork porterhouse. It was slightly overcooked but good flavors. He had it with fried okra which I think was homemade and not frozen out of a bag. Food was good and drinks were ok they just need to get some help.

I made reservations here for a large party to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival on a Sunday afternoon, our table was still being prepared, but the dining area was quiet and clean. Our waiter was very helpful. We encountered an issue when we learned that the lunch menu, which was listed online and was a key reason for choosing this location due to its variety of lunch and dinner options, was not available in person. This was disappointing. We requested to speak with the manager. The manager acknowledged that the online menu was incorrect and explained that they didn't have the lunch items available, but could try to make a few improvised dishes, such as a chicken sandwich. Those in our party who ordered the chicken enjoyed it! However, some who ordered salads noted that their dishes did not include all the ingredients listed on the menu. Overall, the customer service was good, and I appreciate that the restaurant's website has since been updated to reflect their current offerings. We will plan to return to try their lunch menu in the future.

Sampler plater under appetizers DELICIOUS

Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC for our party of five! Our server was the BEST and I'm so mad that I can't remember his name BUT I do remember he was an actor. He was so attentive and helpful answering the many questions we had and his suggestions did not disappoint! The Crossing is a beautifully laid out space considering it was a train? Love love love that they put white paper over the tablecloths why? Because if you drop a delicious morsel of food (like my friend did lol) no worries about picking it up and eating it! 2 ppl in the party ordered the fried shrimp with seasonal veggies (sautéed broccoli, squash, & zucchini) both said the veggies were delightful. The shrimp however was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS probably the best I've ever had! How would I know because they gave the remaining 3 of us a shrimp. Boy was it good and I'm definitely ordering that next time! 1 person had a kids size chicken tenders (you have to be very very hungry or share a dinner portion) and as usual they were fabulous. Another person ordered the Railway chicken dish over mashed potatoes and spinach covered in a remoulade and he made short work of devouring his dish which he declared delicious. I ordered the sampler app as my dinner and it included 2 fried green tomatoes, 2 crab stuffed mushrooms, 1 crab cake, and a good amount of Home made potato chips covered with a bleu cheese sauce, bacon, green onions and crumble. Everything on that platter was fantastic! Our server made sure to clear the dishes as needed and he knew we were attending a play at Lionheart so he was very conscientious of our time. But we had to order 2 molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream to share and boy are we glad we did... it was so good no picture was taken because we devoured it! Even though the theater serves dessert we still couldn't resist . Of course, we were stuffed so we did not partake of dessert at the theater! I've included some pictures. Truly I don't think you would be disappointed with anything there. We are already talking about what we are going to order next time. It was that good! Oh several manager type people checked on us too!

New York strip, mushrooms and onions, & fried okra

My experience at The Crossing was wonderful. When walking in, you're greeted by the lovely decor of the restaurant which heavily leans into the train station vibe they have given that it's located in a historic train depot. Service was friendly and quick, leading with advice and jokes. We had several appetizers all of which were delicious. Most notably, the fried green tomatoes, shrimp, & beef carpaccio. My New York strip was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Couldn't be happier.

Chicken breast w/ parmigiano reggiano & broccoli

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch recently. When we arrived, we were seated right away, and our waiter was at our table just a moment later. We weren't very hungry, so we decided to take a look at the lunch specials section of the menu. The options were limited, but we both decided to order the grilled chicken breast topped with parmigiano reggiano. I had steamed broccoli for my side, while my husband chose fried okra. I've been to The Crossing a couple of times before, but it had been many years. The decor is simple, and there's a bit of a quaint atmosphere at what used to be a train depot. The restaurant was pretty full for lunchtime but the area we were seated in was fairly quiet, with the other parties seated around us keeping their conversations at a decent volume. When our food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much from the grilled chicken breast, but it was packed with flavor! It had been pounded fairly thin and was grilled to perfection, with just enough crisp on the edges and not dry at all! My husband enjoyed his too, and the sides were also cooked well. It's a good option if you're in the area and looking for a light lunch.

Great service, I had the beef carpaccio, which was great a few too many capers, but still wonderful. My chicken was seasoned perfectly. Everything was wonderful definitely come back here I feel like the prices were reasonable.

From Start to Finish we enjoyed excellent customer service today as we enjoyed lunch at The Crossing Steakhouse. Laura, the hostess welcomed us with a smile and asked where we would like to be seated. Yaneli, was our waitress and constantly ensured that we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. Ruben, was our food runner and he delivered our food piping hot with a welcoming smile. We ordered, Fried Shrimp with Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Okra. Everything about the food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was great and not overly crowded. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends. I really enjoyed lunch today. It was definitely the Jumbo Shrimp for me. We will return.

Really enjoyed this lovely restaurant in Downtown Norcross. Beautiful and casual ambience with white linen tablecloths, fun vibe, nice views and great service. The food was delicious and I highly recommend!

There is an open kitchen style towards the back of the restaurant, and at the center, there is a bar area. The restaurant is relatively dark, fair warning. There was a unique selection of appetizers and entrees. So I had a hard time choosing, but for appetizers we ended up getting Tuna Tower, Wagyu sliders, and the Goku roll. Naturally we were a bit dull after that, but I wanted to try an entree so I ordered the seafood gumbo and my partner ordered the lobster mac and cheese (he says he gets this here every time). All the appetizers we got were AMAZING. I don't have a single complaint about the taste, quality, or flavor. The display was also very neat and nice. I will say the lobster mac and cheese and the seafood gumbo were a bit too salty for my palate, but I can tell that the flavor was there. They were very generous with the seafood for every meal, so that was a plus. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and come again. There were so many other entrées and sushi rolls I wanted to try, so I will update this review as I do so!

Not to the point anyone waited a long time for a correction and with a party as large as ours I think they did a great job. The food was good. We were served three appetizers [chopped salad, bourbon glazed brussels, seafood fondue] family style. I don't eat pork so I loved that the bacon was on the side for the brussels, which were delicious, and the chopped salad was equally as good. I don't eat shellfish either so I didn't try the fondue, but everyone around me who did, enjoyed it. The entree I had at the restaurant was the pan seared chicken which was pretty good although it could have used a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon. I also had the cacio e pepe to go and it may have been my favorite thing I've had thus far from here. I did not order any beverages other than water, but next time I think I'll try a cocktail as they looked tasty. I live an hour plus away from this location so I probably won't be returning soon, but if in the area again I would definitely eat here again.

It was early so the dining room had only two or three occupied tables and no one at the bar in the back yet. I was greeted immediately and waited a short time for my order to be ready. All the way home I could smell delicious odors from the bag! I ordered Churrasco de Entrada which is grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and two sides. The steak was amazing! Tender, juicy, melted in my mouth. I had grilled vegetables and baked potato for sides. The vegetables were a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, pea pods, carrots, and zucchini. They were cooked well and flavored with garlic. The foil packet of potatoes contained three small round potatoes also perfectly cooked through not seasoned at all. The meal came with three small dinner rolls and a few packets of butter. Everything was flavorful and delicious; garlic was quite strong though which I loved but might not be everyone's liking. I also ordered Alfajores from the bakery section for dessert. These are little sandwiches with soft shortbread cookies on the outside and soft dulce de leche and coconut filling between them. Four came in the box. This meal was at least two servings for me and it was a wonderful experience. I look forward to eating in the restaurant next time.

The location is in a small plaza with hard time to park because of the amount of businesses around. The restaurant is big with a lot of tables and good for big groups but too dark for my taste, the windows are so dark from outside that if it wasn't for the " open" sign you would think it is close. The food is good, I liked the quality of the chorizo and the skirt steak was grilled properly. I wished the fries were "fresh-cut", I understand that frozen fries are easier but a good steak deserves good fries. Another thing that lowers the experience is that the condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise are in packets like a fast food chain. Upon calling to confirm closing time the reception said if we do not arrive 830 sharp then we will not be see as the kitchen closes by then. That did not make any sense to me but i proceeded to go to the restaurant. We were about 3 mins late and were greeted by hosts who immediately checked us in. My sister overheard them say they had 3 additional 845pm reservations so I am not sure why we were rushed. Upon getting seated I asked the hostess if we were going to be rushed out and she confirmed we would not and that the doors close by 9pm but we can stay longer and enjoy the full service of course. Soon after she leaves our waitress comes and says we need to put in our order in the next 3 mins as she mentioned the kitchen would be closing at 845pm. So we rushed and put in our order. Luckily I had an idea of what I wanted. We ordered 8oz filet mignon, ora king salmon, mashed potatoes, creamy spinach and lobster mac and cheese. I honestly could do without the 2 sides and should have just stuck to the lobster mac and cheese as that was really delicious. We also got drinks, Blue Skies which was a mocktail and Peachtree Julep which was a delicious bourbon drink. I actually had 2 haha! Another waitress assisted us with napkins on our laps and got me a stool for my purse which i thought was very thoughtful. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection and the salmon was good. Upon finishing our meal, they brought a tall cake for the birthday girl! It was delicious although we couldn't take more than a few bites, we certainly ate it later at home. Overall the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant was beautiful and intimate. I would suggest if you go that you book an earlier time before they close to avoid feeling rushed to our order. Our bill came out to roughly around $340 and there was a $60 gratuity which the waitress made note of to us which I appreciated. I would recommend this place as a fine dining steakhouse.

It was so good that I ended up going back on another day, about a week later. It was relatively quiet for a weekday lunch hour if you want to compare to other places that are open for lunch hour. That meant to me that the chef who is also the owner probably could spend more time to prepare the dishes ordered. I ordered the fried Oysters Po'Boy with fries and an iced tea. Didn't take too long for the meal to come out. I cut the Po'Boy in half and the Oysters were large. The bread was nice and soft, not hard and crunchy like bread can be for a Po'Boy. Fries were nicely done, not too crisp but not soggy and greasy. Had seasoning sprinkled on them, but not overwhelming. Just right. After I finished my sandwich, I was wondering about dessert and just as I was going to ask, my waiter, Chris came up to the table with the choices of dessert. I wanted something light, so I picked the chocolate pie. It was a good sized piece that came with some whipped cream on the side garnished with a strawberry. Nice and creamy and not overly sweet. Because it's not a big menu with a ton of choices, but just enough different types of foods to give something for everyone - whether it's seafood or chicken, pasta, or meatloaf - it's just good food with interesting sauces. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and meatball sub, both tasting each other's and loving them. The only complaint is they seem to close after lunch for a few hours before dinner. If they stayed open continuously, they might get more business because I think the food is just too good for them to not constantly be crowded. The decor is clearly not what you're there for and the seats are just uncomfortable enough to discourage a leisurely meal (read: turn the tables over often); kind of a shame because if they stayed open continuously through dinner, had more comfortable seats, and less rundown looking interior they could actually attract a lot of business and stay very busy. Maybe they should try signing up with GrubHub, DoorDash or UberEats. Then you get to experience their terrific food at home. Looking forward to going back.

I'll preface this by saying we are regular diners and frequently order to-go from here too, so this isn't a problem with the food quality - which is always good. Arriving at 10:45AM, I'd expected to be on the early side of the brunch rush, and the restaurant remained pretty quiet for the first 30 minutes. It was very cold, and we asked for this to be addressed. We appeared to have a dedicated server who welcomed us warmly, fixed drink orders and offered recommendations. However, he had another (new?) server shadowing him after that, and a few things were missed by her (no straws, milk for coffee served in a bowl instead of a jug, water without lemon served with lemon pips in it, and a forgotten request for a taste of the sausage gravy). Then things took a bigger turn after we placed our entree orders. We asked for jelly or jam for biscuits and were told there wasn't any. We asked for honey and syrup for the French toast, and it took a long time to arrive (so those entrees were cold by the time the diners got to eat them). One order came with the wrong side, and one diner had to ask for fresh biscuits because those on the plates were already cold. No one ever came to bring one missing drink, or to take further/refill orders from any of the group. The chilly temperature of the dining room stayed frigid throughout. We did appreciate the professionalism of our primary server, and the sweet gestures to the Moms in the group (it was Mothers' Day). However, the communication between servers, and with management, and between front of house and kitchen, were all completely off that day. It was especially disappointing based on previous positive experiences. Despite flagging the issues to the manager on duty, we left feeling rushed, disappointed and with the impression that they didn't really care. There were huge groups of people waiting to be seated by the time we left, so hopefully the team was just warming up when we got there and I hope the experience improved for others throughout the service period. I'm not looking forward to going back, however - it felt like we were being used for staff training on one of the business Sunday brunch services of the year, and not at all like the usual dinner experience.

As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall. I had the fried shrimp and chicken, which was decent, but honestly I enjoyed the chicken more than the shrimp. One of my friends ordered the Cajun pasta and it lacked A LOT of flavor, definitely needed some salt and seasoning. The place was pretty and clean.
