We went to the crossing for our Sons birthday, who LOVES anything to do with trains. My wife and I are Norcross natives, so it was a lot of fun to re-visit our hometown. The steaks and seafood were great, and the owners father (Luis), gave my son and I a history lesson of the origin of the restaurant (former Norfolk Southern depot) and a guided tour of the hidden porches that you can watch passing trains up close. What a great ambassador to the restaurant! While we were eating there, we experienced 1 southbound and 1 northbound train, my son was able get great videos of both train. Prime rib & filet mignon were perfect. 2 issue s: the ridiculous markup on an 18$ bottle of wine: 70$!!!??? My steak burger was well-described in the menu, but the actual burger was a big disappointment. Lettuce & tomato on the bottom makes the bun get soggy & fall apart. The burger wasn't juicy & plump, it was flat & overcooked. The bacon was rubbery & chewy, not crispy. I ended up eating my burger with a knife & fork. The Fried Okra was awesome! Now.... your NA beer selection is pitiful. Only choice is Heineken 0.0. No flavor, doesn't pair well with anything. Their are plenty of tastier NA choices: Modelo, Athletic, Sierra Nevada, etc. I'm still giving you 4 stars because your server was excellent. We gave him a nice tip. The Crossing is an amazing Steakhouse in gorgeous downtown historic Norcross. It's located right off of the train tracks, which means you may hear a train come by while dining, but I feel it only improves the ambiance of the restaurant. They offer indoor, bar, and outdoor seating, as well as a weekend brunch menu. It can get busy at times - I recommend making a reservation especially for bigger parties. The location partners with the In-Kind app which allows you to earn fewer dollars back for a future visit. Every meal I've had here has been top-tier. The steak is always cooked to perfection, and the sides are extremely flavorful. My family and I tend to always order side salads in addition to our meal, which truly are generous portions. Came in sat at bar. There was a large party to the room to the right of the bar. The staff didn't seem to up staffed to help cover it and the restaurant. The bartender was young and very sweet (I didn't catch her name) and was trying her best to keep up. However the party to the right was coming out and ordering drink after drink and it made it hard for her to focus on anything else. We got our drinks and ordered but others who sat after us went un attended. We choose to eat and leave and not stay longer because of the staffing issues. Now to food and drinks. I got the signature cranberry Moscow mule it was good and refreshing. My husband ordered a whiskey sour and she looked it up and made one. She did a good job on it he enjoyed it although it was 100% right still tasted good. I ordered shrimp screwers with brussels and a side of scallop potatoes. My husband ordered bourbon pork porterhouse. It was slightly overcooked but good flavors. He had it with fried okra which I think was homemade and not frozen out of a bag. I made reservations here for a large party to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival on a Sunday afternoon, our table was still being prepared, but the dining area was quiet and clean. Our waiter was very helpful. We encountered an issue when we learned that the lunch menu, which was listed online and was a key reason for choosing this location due to its variety of lunch and dinner options, was not available in person. This was disappointing. We requested to speak with the manager. The manager acknowledged that the online menu was incorrect and explained that they didn't have the lunch items available, but could try to make a few improvised dishes, such as a chicken sandwich. Those in our party who ordered the chicken enjoyed it! However, some who ordered salads noted that their dishes did not include all the ingredients listed on the menu. Overall, the customer service was good, and I appreciate that the restaurant's website has since been updated to reflect their current offerings. Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC for our party of five! Our server was the BEST and I'm so mad that I can't remember his name BUT I do remember he was an actor. He was so attentive and helpful answering the many questions we had and his suggestions did not disappoint! The Crossing is a beautifully laid out space considering it was a train? Love love love that they put white paper over the tablecloths why? Because if you drop a delicious morsel of food (like my friend did lol) no worries about picking it up and eating it! 2 ppl in the party ordered the fried shrimp with seasonal veggies (sautéed broccoli, squash, & zucchini) both said the veggies were delightful. The shrimp however was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS probably the best I've ever had! How would I know because they gave the remaining 3 of us a shrimp. Boy was it good and I'm definitely ordering that next time! 1 person had a kids size chicken tenders (you have to be very very hungry or share a dinner portion) and as usual they were fabulous. Another person ordered the Railway chicken dish over mashed potatoes and spinach covered in a remoulade and he made short work of devouring his dish which he declared delicious. I ordered the sampler app as my dinner and it included 2 fried green tomatoes, 2 crab stuffed mushrooms, 1 crab cake, and a good amount of Home made potato chips covered with a bleu cheese sauce, bacon, green onions and crumble. Everything on that platter was fantastic! Our server made sure to clear the dishes as needed and he knew we were attending a play at Lionheart so he was very conscientious of our time. But we had to order 2 molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream to share and boy are we glad we did... it was so good no picture was taken because we devoured it! Even though the theater serves dessert we still couldn't resist . Of course, we were stuffed so we did not partake of dessert at the theater! I've included some pictures. My experience at The Crossing was wonderful. When walking in, you're greeted by the lovely decor of the restaurant which heavily leans into the train station vibe they have given that it's located in a historic train depot. Service was friendly and quick, leading with advice and jokes. We had several appetizers all of which were delicious. Most notably, the fried green tomatoes, shrimp, & beef carpaccio. Parking is entirely dependent on the day; street parking may be available, but on a busy day you can expect to park and walk back. The service wasn't very friendly but was efficient. The food was good, nothing spectacular but fresh and hot. There's not much of an ambiance; at lunch, expect lots of groups of "businessmen" and a few ladies-who-lunch. My husband and I stopped by here for lunch recently. When we arrived, we were seated right away, and our waiter was at our table just a moment later. When our food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much from the grilled chicken breast, but it was packed with flavor! It had been pounded fairly thin and was grilled to perfection, with just enough crisp on the edges and not dry at all! My husband enjoyed his too, and the sides were also cooked well. We had a reservation for Father's Day, and were seated quickly. No one ever came to our table. We tried speaking with the hostess, and still never had a waiter even stop at our table. After waiting over 30 minutes without even having a drink order taken, and watching waiters rush by our table without even pausing, we finally just walked out. Incredibly disappointed, as this used to be an amazing restaurant. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant of the supposed caliber that they present themselves as. Great steakhouse in downtown Norcross! They have lots of seating and they also have covered patio seating that you can enjoy with your dogs, which would be so fun when the weather's nice. They also seem to have a stage for live performances, but I didn't see it when I visited. I ordered the filet mignon, which was a bit overcooked, but their spicy corn side was my favorite! From Start to Finish we enjoyed excellent customer service today as we enjoyed lunch at The Crossing Steakhouse. Laura, the hostess welcomed us with a smile and asked where we would like to be seated. Yaneli, was our waitress and constantly ensured that we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. Ruben, was our food runner and he delivered our food piping hot with a welcoming smile. We ordered, Fried Shrimp with Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Okra. Everything about the food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was great and not overly crowded. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends. I really enjoyed lunch today. Food and ambiance is great! We got the wagon wheel shrimp and chips with the sweet & tangy sauce (TDF). The filet, New York strip, baby back rids and ribeye all very good. My filet was undercooked but they fixed it. Our waitress was sweet but she went MIA. We all needed refills and I had to go get the manager. He was too busy counting money and never acknowledged me. Hostess found our waitress who immediately took care of us but I felt they weren't that busy and I shouldn't have to hunt someone done. Manager never came to our table. As we were leaving, I saw him open a beer and start drinking behind the counter. I get it was Mother's Day and late, we were seated around 7:20 but totally unprofessional and really not a good impression. I love The Crossing! It has become a part of our family. We had our sister bridal shower here and our this is our family meet up spot. The food is awesome, and our service has always been great! Beautiful ambience sitting out on the patio on a beautiful spring night and you can hear the train running by momentarily and see the beautiful string lights on display. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was genuinely friendly, super nice and attentive. He also made the experience a pleasant one. We went at lunchtime, and they do have a lunch menu despite there not being one online. For an appetizer, we chose the Arepas, which were truly mini. I've never seen a arepas that small. I wouldn't get them again, I don't think they were worth the money. We also got the okra. It was regular, nothing to write home about however, the remoulade was the star. It was very good, tangy like mustard. Though not on the lunch menu, I was still able to choose the railway chicken. The server described it as a fancy KFC bowl and he couldn't be more on target. That's exactly what it tasted like but it was very good. I enjoyed it. I tried the steak which was flavorful and juicy. I would not recommend the mac & cheese it's literally just cheese and shells no flavor, no seasoning, so choose something else if you can. read more

When we were there, they were definitely understaffed and it got busy real quick. Make sure you make brunch reservations. There is a live band that plays in the back room. Dinner: Tomahawk: One issue I have experienced with tomahawks at other places is that even if you ordered a medium/medium rare, there will be parts that are well-done. This was not the case here. The meat was evenly cooked. Loaded potato soup: I would skip this. Sides: we also ordered mushrooms, mac and cheese, and asparagus. All were good and flavorful. I've had both the brunch and the dinner so this review will be about both. Dinner: Since I never got to try out the neighborhood steakhouse we decided to go when it was my mother's birthday. What ensued was a great experience. I feel like tomahawk is always a go to when I go to a steakhouse because I think any steak can be made at home with the right tools. But a ribeye? It's just hard because of the size and then how would you cook it? I guess you could always do a sous vide, but anyways that's another conversation totally. When the tomahawk came out it was nice and medium rare all around! That in itself is pretty hard to do. But overall the steak was great, and I was relatively surprised to have such a good steak house nearby. The sides weren't too bad either, I wish there was more but overall the size of the sides and steak was good for portion sizes. I shared the tomahawk with my wife, but we were both nice and full after. Brunch: The following Sunday we came here to go get some brunch. I would say the dinner was probably better, but the brunch wasn't too bad. I ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs were poached pretty well and I would say it was alright all around. It did get very busy so that is one thing to keep in mind. It seems like the Crossing is a very popular spot for brunch! Overall, The Crossing is great for steaks at least for dinner. Brunch I don't think it was really worth it, but I do have to give a big shout out that they also had live music when we were there. We only stayed long enough for them to start playing and afterwards we left. Service was great both times, I would say that the brunch was lacking a bit as it seemed like the staff was shorthanded for that many customers and tables. I believe our waiter had a whole 8 tables to himself and he was running thin. If you're looking for an affordable steakhouse that cooks steak well, this should be on your list. Attended for a large Christmas party. The food was outstanding. There was nothing I didn't like. I had the platter which had many items available like crab cakes, dip, stuffed mushrooms. Excellent! I also had Parmasean chicken with broccoli which was equally tasty. The service was great and especially with a large party of over 30 people. 2 waiters served us great! The hostess needed help as myself and another couple were waiting to be greeted. She kept answering the phone, taking orders, and handing menus to staff when she could've just handed us off and moved on. Went to the Crossing for the first time today with my wife. My wife ordered a filet, medium, along with some grilled onions. The server brought sautéed mushrooms, and her steak was between medium-well and well. She let him know that she ordered onions rather than mushrooms, and he picked it up and tried to turn away without a word, and she proceeded to inform him that the steak was overcooked. He pointed to the steak, rolled his eyes and sighed, and walked away. No words. He then came back and said he would take that steak and will have another "in a couple of minutes." While waiting on the steak, he refilled our waters and set them down rather aggressively. When he brought out the steak and onions, he basically dropped it on the table and walked away with no words again. This steak was rare. Dark red. Cold center. These filets are not thick either. It felt as if either the server or the cooks or both had decided to undercook her steak completely. When the server came back, we informed him the steak was rare, but we would take boxes and cook the steak ourselves. He brought only one box for both of us. I would like to say that my wife was nothing but kind and respectful to him. She is currently a server and bartender, so she knows how to treat a restaurant staff. She was even apologetic about the steak, as if it were her fault that the thin filet was overcooked. Our ticket had no discount, but we still tipped over 25% to our server. Literally had just 5 scallops on a plate and that was it. Looked like they forgot to care at all about presentation. Another friend and I got the prime rib, medium rare. It was tasty but we both agreed it wasn't as tender as we would have liked. My fiancé liked his filet enough. For dessert, we had the molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream and the crème brûlée. I loved that the crème brûlée came out flaming. Both tasted fine. It was a nice little show to end our meal. Prices are ok at $20 for apps and $30+ for entrees which is now cheap for steaks. Overall, there's just better steakhouses in town with better service. This place was not the best not even close. Full of flies I thought they were interested in me because I was the only patron until I noticed they were swirling around the syrups and taps at the bar. Kids burger is literally a frozen burger that my server admitted was hard but that's how they cook the kids burgers? Funny considering kids have baby teeth and making it hard makes no sense. Also paid $55 for a filet of snapper... one piece barely the size of my hand... worth $25 bucks at best. We ordered a bacon wrapped filet with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes, grilled chicken with asparagus, and a steak burger with French fries. This place has definitely changed from when I came to it pre-Covid! I guess the change in ownership must've affected the amount and quantity of food served for dinner as well. I always order the same couple of items prime rib, fried shrimp, a rack of ribs. My friend ordered the rack of ribs and they were half the amount they used to be. I had ordered the shrimp and other types of entrées before and it always came with dinner rolls salad to sides etc. I was sad to see that it only came with one side especially for $22! The southern fried shrimp was very tasty shrimps were half the size they used to be. The service was great at first but towards the end waited 15 +minutes to get our check and dessert and a clean set of eating utensils. Not sure I will return anytime soon which saddens me because it was one of my favorite places before! Drive from downtown to the norcross restaurant used to be worth it! :-( read more

Ordered a steak from here via Uber eats and a baked potato. I thought the meat had a chemical taste. I also did not love how the baked potato was packed. The sour cream, cheese and bacon was all mixed together in one small to-go sauce container. I might try again in-person but I was not a fan of this initial experience. read more

My husband and I wanted to go out for a nice dinner and with us being huge fans of steak we chose the crossing steakhouse! A close friend of ours recommended it so we wanted to try it out. I wanted to order a ribeye and my husband wanted the cowboy ribeye. Our server then said they were out and apologized for the inconvenience also proceeded to name all the other steaks they were out of and let me just say that the list was insane. They quite literally only had 7oz filets available. It's a STEAKHOUSE for crying out loud!!  How do you only have one type of steak available? It was ridiculous and I could tell our server was embarrassed but she was kind and the place looked beautiful but unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. read more
