These have to be some of the best fries I've ever had from a hot dog joint. If any of you have been in southern/western Illinois they remind me of kitchen cooked kettle chips for some reason. The hotdogs are Vienna and def good as always. I would have liked the buns a little more steamed but they worked for me either way in the classic poppyseed style. But my God those fries were fantastic. The guy working was pleasant and accommodating in his service as well. We are lucky that this place is local as we will be back... frequently. read more

Could be more flavorful but the worst was the "shimmering rainbow beef". I haven't had something like this since college cafeteria food back in the 1980s! Double dog is priced at $4.99 on their fancy new signs, but the rude and obnoxious "gentleman" at the window, who I assumed to be the owner, tried to charge me $5.99. Jimmy's Dog House I have been going to Jimmy's for their hotdogs for quite awhile now. I think they're the best around when it comes to hotdogs with everything/ Chicago style! Their fries are delicious! They are not greasy. They are thin and crispy and you get plenty of them with your hotdog order! This place is drive-through only with the exception of a few seats outside if the weather is nice. This is a no-frills business. However, the food is what it's all about & the service is great as well. They are friendly and quick and I always leave a tip! If you are looking for a good hotdog in the area be sure to check this place out. Sure they ain't the best hotdogs I've ever had but certainly better then most. The only other place nearby that's better is Portillos...and that is saying something. The hot dogs are 100% Vienna beef and the fries are crispy and hot. The menu also has hamburgers, gyros and other hotdog stand staples. The prices are also very competitive. My only gripe is when I went there was only one guy working the stand (maybe the owner?) and I can see him getting backed up if busy. He was fast for sure. But you might just wanna be prepared to wait a little bit. Overall I'm happy I stopped by and I'll for sure be back in the future! read more

Cool little drive thru joint. I got the sausage and beef combo sandwich. I thought it was good although the size of the sandwich for the price was a little high in my opinion. The sausage had a little snap to it, the beef was seasoned well with a little spicy kick to it but not too much, and the sandwich was juicy but not soaked like some other places will do and the whole thing will fall apart on you. Jimmy's Dog House is a small drive up hot dog joint located off of Ogden avenue in Westmont. There are two lanes and two drive thru order kiosks and a set of winding paths that lead to the window where you pay and pick up your food. I decided to try the two hot dog special, my food was ready quickly and I was soon on my way home. The hot dog included was a skinless dog, it came on a soft poppy seed bun. The pickle included is thin and not sour, a small tomato slice was included towards the center of the dog and celery salt was visible. Just the right amount of mustard, onions and relish were applied and the sport peppers weren't too hot. The fries included were thin fries very similar to those served by Mickey's Hot Dogs in Villa Park. They weren't too salty and had a nice potato filling. These complimented the hot dog very well. Overall Jimmy's makes an excellent Chicago Style Hot dog, none of the frequent missteps made by other hot dog joints were present here. I'd recommend Jimmy's Dog House, good food at a fair price. read more

It's a quality hot dog with just the right amount of topping. My husband loves the Maxwell polish.
