My son lives right around the corner from this place and highly recommended it. I can see why. The service was personable and prompt. He joked around with us a bit. Place was clean and had a large selection of typical and unique hot dogs, hot links, kielbasa. I really liked my beef and Cheddar but felt the bread to meat ratio was a bit off. My son devoured his two hot links. One was a special with bbq and bacon. My only real complaint was they had Pepsi products. LOL read more

We stopped for lunch at Boss Dawgz. Hubby had the Chili Boss and I went with the Chicago Style, a classic. The homemade buns are like none other, so fresh and soft, and the fries...chef's kiss. Boss Dawgs has 30+ creative varieties of hot dogs plus specials and also Italian beef, brats and Polish sausage. Their buns are made daily in house from scratch, as is their chili for chili dogs. They have the best fresh-cut fries, too. I highly recommend a visit if you venture to the Chicago west burbs. The owner William is personable and we loved talking to him. Awesome I normally don't out a lot in a hot dog but this place was off the chain and the product is awesome

I came here to see what the hype's about. The different menu combinations they come up with are thoughtful & creative. The soft bun, although light & fluffy, was too big for the skinny dogs they use. Each hot dog came in a styrofoam container, too big for the size of the actual dog, if they would've asked I would've taken two dogs in each container. As for the franks themselves, they tasted like Ballpark Franks or Hebrew National brand, what a disappointment. Fresh cut fries come with each dog although it is a tiny bag of fries. I apologize for the cliche, but to me this place is indeed "a slice of Americana". This owner has a very nice set-up. Easy to pull in and out of, a quaint building, and the layout reminds me of an old style drive-up. It was a very nice day, with a nice group of families enjoying a casual lunch. Order to go, eat inside, eat outside, it's all good. It was my first time here, so I actually let the couple in front of me go first, while I studied the plethora of dog and sausage creations. I decided on the Boss Classic and the Jalapeño Cheddar Brat. The bun was fresh (he takes pride in his buns, which is nice), and the dogs and fries were quite tasty. There are so many options available, that I would feel compelled to try something different on every future visit. Wonderful people and a well organized ordering and assembly process. Driving up I already loved the vibe there's lots of outdoor picnic table seating and string lights next to their big sign and I noticed how clean all the tables were. Stepping inside we started checking out the menu there were so many items that sounded amazing! The owner William was in and he was super friendly and helpful explained the menu all the combo deals and great recommendations. I had to go with the boss beef (a delicious Italian beef sandwich dipped and topped with their flavorful spicy giardiniera) it comes with a generous pile of fries which we opted out of since we also ordered a dawgz combo which includes two signature dawgz fries and a drink. My buddy wanted to try this place after a round of golf at Seven Bridges and I'm glad we did! The owner was really nice, giving some recommendations on the popular menu items since there were so many to choose from. I'm all about spicy foods so the nagito sriracha dog caught my attention; awesome blend of flavors on a hot dog that really worked. Keep in mind, products are all beef ~ may have a slightly different taste. However, that first bite, with the snap of the casing, was pure delight. In the future, I would probably ask if the bun could be sliced on the side rather than the top ~ that might have made it slightly less messy for me to eat. Brat came with fries which was enough for 2 people. If you dine in, your order comes up on a small tray and placed on top of the counter where you order. Dine in area is small. Just inside the front door are tables for larger groups and then down the hall there are 4 tables for 2. There are picnic tables outside, but only 2 have umbrellas and there is no shade. Sure it's a place of business and i paid money for the food, though the vibe of the place is a familiar hospitality. When I was there, a lady walked in and as soon as she was in the doorway, the owner greeted her by name and asked if she wanted her usual (she did). Food: & Das Brat - so good! It's advertised as "char-grilled" and it was definitely charred. This is on me, though I should have asked for it to be less charred. 4/5 & Maxwell Street Polish - same char-grilled comment as for Das Brat, and overall so delicious. I had been waiting six months for a proper polish sausage and this was so worth the wait! 4/5 & Corn dog - this was one of the rotating items on the menu, though I'd have to say this was a disappointment. Compared to the Boss Classic or the Boss Dawg, it was so small and dry. Skip the corn dog and get a Boss Classic. 1/5 & Boss Classic - it's like a Chicago dog but with added personality and creativity. The Mayo is a great addition. This place never ceases to amaze me! When my local all-purpose fast food drive-thru joint closed last year, I despaired of ever getting a decent brat again. And then, I figured out that maybe my favorite hot dog stand would have one on the menu, the only question being "would I like it?" Well, let me tell you, it's BETTER than my former favorite, featuring a fluffy poppyseed bun, nicely spiced Duesseldorf mustard, the best kraut this old Bohemian has ever tasted, and a perfectly charred bratwurst of incredible quality. Besides which, the sandwich serves as a great excuse to have some of their fantastic fries. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect on a pleasant day. I got the week special which was a Caribbean Boss Dawg. Boss dawg with bacon and charred pineapple! I love a good Chicago style hot dog and found this place while searching for lunch. It was my first-time in the Lisle area and dining at Boss Dawgz and it didn't disappoint. There is adequate parking as well which is always a plus. Also, it's inexpensive and not too far from the Benedictine University. Boss Dawgz doesn't look like much from the outside but those are the type of places with amazing tasting food. Although not very big, there is seating inside. We sat inside, you order your food first and then pick it up when it's done. We ordered the Boss Original Glizzy ("OG") Street Dawg that came with 100% all beef hot dog, yellow mustard, peppers, tomatoes, and salt. I ordered it w/o celery. The meal comes with a regular order of fresh cut fries, and I ordered them well done. The hot dog was good, the bun was so light and fluffy, not soggy at all. The bun was bigger than the hot dog though. The fries were delicious, you can't go wrong with fresh cut fries. Overall, I would recommend if you're a college student looking tasty, inexpensive meal or traveling in the area and want a tasty Chicago style hot dog without all the hassle of the big city. read more

Wow. WOW! What an incredible little hot dog stand! Boss Dawgz fires on all cylinders and it is my new favorite lunch spot. Their dogs are great, their fries amazing, and the staff (owner) is an absolutely great guy. After driving past several times I finally found the time to stop in. Outside they have ample parking and even a few picnic tables (with umbrellas) for nice days. Inside they have a decent amount of seating and a menu that makes ordering easy. Well, the placement/arrangement does, the choices do not make it easy because everything sounds amazing. They also have the most inviting bathrooms I've ever been in (at a fast food joint). And that's the truth, I really had a hard time choosing what to get. However, I went with a Boss Classic and a Chicago Style (the litmus test, of course). First off, you'll be blown away by the FRESHNESS of their buns - "made fresh daily" the owner told me. And then the toppings are equally as fresh! Both dogs were fantastic but I will say this - I like a bit more of a meatier dog so I'm going double-dogs next time (not going to dock them a star for this as it's my own personal preference). As if the dogs didn't stand on their own, their fries will change your life - absolute PERFECTION. Oh, and the drink machine oozes old school vibes with handles for dispensing the liquidly sugary goodness. To top it off, I had just a minute to chat with the owner and he is a phenomenal guy. He's "semi-retired" and just does this stand for fun. And it shows! He greets everyone who steps in the door with a warm welcome and is in such a jovial mood you can't help but want to shake his hand or give him a hug (your choice). The world really needs more people like him. If you can't already tell I'm a huge fan of Boss Dawgz after just one visit. You can bet I'll be returning because Boss Dawgz is the new KING of hot dogs in these western burbs, if you ask me. read more
