The New Rodeo Burger ($12) C'mon.... How would you feel if you paid $12 for this? Service = normal Ambience = as expected

I had dinner from here on a Saturday evening. The place was spacious. There was not a lot of crowd. Seems there was more take out orders than dine in. Spicy chicken sandwich was my favorite item. It was crispy and had nice flavor. The seasonal drink strawberry lemon cake shake was excellent. Chocolate cake shake was ok. Italian beef and chilli cheese hot dogs were my other dinner items and were good. Fries came with a side of their cheese sause. I loved ketchup with fries than the cheese sauce though.

Our family loves Portillo's! They have become a weekly staple on soccer practice nights. Quick, easy and delicious! I truly think their fries are my favorite - crispy and salty, they are perfect! I usually get the chili cheese dog, because the flavors are incredible, but recently tried the chopped salad. Sooo good! I love the pasta in there, makes it a filling meal. My kids love the hot dogs and burgers, and my husband is a big fan of the Polish sausage. The staff is friendly and efficient, and we're super glad there is a local Portillo's!

    Veggie dog and fries!

I'm from Illinois and have been familiar with Portillos for my entire adult life. They are great people and do a great job with their business. I'm a vegetarian that eats chicken and thus cannot comment on their Italian beef or hot dogs... until recently when they added a veggie based hot dog to their menu! It was nice to be able to order something other than a salad (although they have great salads). I got a veggie dog and fries and was pleasantly surprised as to all the toppings it came with. The food was delicious and ordering was fast. We got our food to go, but it appears the inside is nice with some outside seating as well. Great location next to west town mall. Definitely worth checking it out if you haven't been. If you're it calorie concerned, try the chocolate cake shake as well!

I had no idea they were putting a Portillo's at West Towne and I am SO excited. This location is going to be hoppin, so make sure to leave time to get through drive thru. They are brand new right now, but there was a little bit of trash and food on the floor when I was there at night. The staff got to it all quickly. It's beautiful inside and the beef and hot dogs are exactly how they taste in Chicago -- I am so happy!

I was fortunate to be able to participate in the sneak peek at the West Towne Portillo's 11/22/21. The order taker person was super friendly and even was happy to be out in the cold! She said she missed talking with customers. Our food order was completely correct. And we enjoyed everything immensely. We've been to Portillo's before and our favorite is the Italian Beef sandwich. This is the #1 must try item on their menu! We also enjoyed two hot dogs one plain and one Chicago style, small fry with cheese sauce, a side salad and they even threw in a piece of chocolate cake. Awesome! We are both so glad that Portillo's is opening on the west side of Madison!

The vegan Chicago dog is perfection. The cheese fries are even more perfect. The chocolate cake is in my dreams it's so good. Tons of parking. Tons of seating. Outdoor patio. Super friendly staff. Why aren't you eating here right now??

    Very new look

It was okay... I've been to the original in Chicago a few time and these dogs were not as good. This location is also very new so it's got a lot of hype business yet. Glad I tried it but not something I'd really seek out. I much prefer the taste and aesthetic at the Chicago ones.

It was loaded with chocolate chips and had some flaky sea salt on top. I think this had to be one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! All of our servers were super kind and helpful, and the food came out pretty quickly. The ambiance is really nice, we ate in the patio area and it was super cute with nice natural lighting.

He explained some of the inspirations for things on the menu which was fun! If you are vegetarian this place is a dream with tons of options! Do not be fooled, they are very filling. My husband and I shared the marinated white beans on toast, cauliflower, oyster mushroom and pesto spaghetti. All were great and delicious! Least fav (although still tasty) may have been the cauliflower cuz it's fried and gets a little heavy but the raisins in the dish are a nice surprise and treat! Although tapas style, the portions are generous. You can taste how fresh the Ingredients are in each dish as well. The pesto was a flavor bomb of fresh basil and garlic! The drinks are also top notch with interesting ingredient that create a wonderful medley together. Highly recommend trying a few. For dessert we shared the bay leaf cake and the creme brûlée- also delicious. I look forward to returning the next time I visit Madison. Also love how the restaurant ambiance is a homage to blanches lanai from golden girls! It's a fun space with great decor. Recommend getting there early as they don't take reservations and it gets very busy on the weekend! Highly recommend and overall a wonderful experience!

They clearly take risks in the best way, and it often pays off. The only reason I can't give five stars is an ongoing issue with salt levels. On a few occasions, dishes haven't just been slightly over-seasoned, they've been overwhelmingly salty to the point of overpowering the flavor and, at times, bordering on inedible. And that's coming from someone who genuinely enjoys salty food. When they get the balance right, the food is exceptional. I just wish the seasoning were more consistent.

The vibe here is uniquely local for this part of Madison and from the moment you enter through the large ornate wooden door, you are teleported into a special space where a good time is sure to be had! We have come here for Friday Fish Fry, weekday lunch and weekend brunch, and we have never left unhappy or hungry. The menu is made up of mostly classic dishes such as salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches, with a few mains like steak frites and pork chop. Brunch has your classic brunch dishes such as breakfast plates, biscuits and gravy, burrito and of course, French toast. The fish fry is excellent here, especially the pan fried version, which still provides the light, crisp and fresh fish but less the thick breading. For brunch, the breakfast burrito add sausage was spot on and super tasty! For cocktail, they have a stellar menu of house curated cocktails. For brunch, I went with the Bloody Mary and outside of brunch hours, I gravitate to the Killer Bees Knees gin based cocktail. I will grab a beer on occasion, but the cocktails are too good to pass up! Service is always stellar here whether we are sat in the dining room or bellied up to the bar.
