Jumbo hot dog, fries and drink
    Huna M.

I was excited to discover a Portillo's located near ORD airport! My hotel was within walking distance of this location, so it was perfect for me! Although it's pick-up only, the staff here did an amazing job delivering the same experience as if you were to dine in. I ordered ahead so my meal was ready to go when I arrived. Inside was clean and pick up orders were well organized. I ordered the jumbo hot dog, fries and a drink. When it comes to a glizzy, I'm a mustard and onion type of gal. Nothing more, nothing less. However, this Chicago styled hotdog packed with a pickle, mustard, relish, onions, celery salt, tomatoes and peppers changed me forever!! I don't think I've ever had that many condiments on a hotdog EVER but when I tell you every condiment on that dog contributed to its perfection-- I ain't lying! So flavorful! It was like a party in my mouth!

This shiny new Rosemont spot is still settling into its groove, but let's be honest--I'm a lifelong Portillo's fan, even if I recently made the strategic misstep of Googling the calories in a beef-and-sausage combo. (Rookie move. I regret everything.) My standard order? A fully loaded sandwich with BOTH hot and sweet peppers because balance matters. And while this location is basically designed for quick walk-ins and fast pickups, its proximity to O'Hare unlocks a whole new level of life satisfaction: grabbing your sandwich, strolling onto your flight, and watching the cabin fill with the unmistakable smell of Portillo's. Cue the jealous side-eyes and the inevitable: "Wait... what are you eating?" This place is part of our Chicago ritual. My husband and I never--never--skip Portillo's. The sausage alone has flavor that could win global diplomacy awards. Truly unmatched anywhere on the planet, and I've done my homework. They're still ironing out a few kinks, but the food hits the mark, the convenience is clutch, and I'll absolutely be back for my next pre-flight flex.

I was staying at a nearby hotel. Just prior to checking out and heading over to the airport via the MMF across the street, I placed an online order on their convenient easy-to-use mobile app. My order was for 2 Chicago dogs with everything on them. They were bagged and ready for pick-up when I arrived. The food was on par with any Portillo's that I've visited in the past. This was my first time at a "pick up" only Portillo's. There was no dining area, only pick-up on foot or drive-thru via car.

The company ordered from here, everything was really good. Except I felt the beefs were very tiny. But I like how everything arrived nicely and well packaged. Great service. Pretty cool location from what I saw in pics.

Quick and friendly service at Portillo's! The Italian beef was delicious -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly wet just how I like it. Definitely coming back! This location is pickup only.

I had never been to a Portillo's. We were traveling and my companion dragged me across the parking lot from our hotel. It was late so I ordered a shake and cheesy fries. My first bite into the fries took me back to my college days in Buffalo... so good. I got a small chocolate malt shake - it was huge. I drank 1/3 and the rest melted overnight.

Fast casual Italian beef spot. Pretty decent New to town, and saw that these guys offered a lot of the staples for a Chicago food run. So made a stop to give this place a try. Got a chicago dog, a polish sausage, a italian beef sandwich, and a tamale because why not? Also a giant vat of cheese sauce to dunk stuff in, because it was offered. Weakest thing was the tamale. it was this weird mushy flavor profile. the masa and the beef had the same texture, and the masa was pasty. I was not a fan of that tamale. The strongest was the polish sausage. That thing was massive, charred well, and had plenty of toppings. That was a meal in of itself, and the execution was on point. Get me some deep fried perogis with some sour cream to dip and I would've been a very happy man. The italian beef and chicago dog were good but nothing special. I liked the softness of the bun and the topping to meat ratio of both. The italian beef was a bit too soggy and the meat was overcooked. but the flavor was solid and the portion was generous. The chicago dog had all the right toppings and a good charred hot dog, but it wasn't split and grilled, and I prefer natural casings to get that snap. Price was okay for the amount we ordered. it's very much set up to be a chic fil a but with sandwiches and hot dogs. It's not bad for what it is, and you would be hard pressed to find better representations of Chicago classics. It's good, but not what I would consider a destination spot. It's a place to go to if you're in the area, but it's a good one to try

Review of Portillo to go - we came here for a quick take-out bite. One of my favorite meal places when frequently visiting to Chicago. Your order from the kiosk and then wait in the small lobby area. I had the two hot dog with everything combo, onion rings, and a soda. We also tried the vegan dog with everything. The onion rings were perfectly crisp and the dogs had so much flavor. Even the vegan dog was quite good. Frankly, if you go to Portillo - you gotta try da meats! This location is better for drive through as it is a to go establishment with nowhere to eat inside. Will return.

Good tasting food and quick service. Had my first real Chicago dog and it was great. My wife had a chicken sandwich and it was good as well.

It was the slowest pick up line ever! Which made no sense because it wasn't as busy as the other regular Portillo.

So,…read morewhen in Chicago, I always try to hit a Portillos or someplace that has them and on this most recent visit I was too busy to get any while in town, so I ended up grabbing one here, at Gold Coast while about to fly out. I also equally love a good Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera, so I got one of those as well. The guy taking my order was friendly and when I asked which was better, he told me to go with the Italian Beef. I ultimately chose both and waited for them to be made, which only took a few minutes. Each sandwich comes with an order of fries, but I didn't want that many fries, but they don't sell them (or didn't offer them) without fries. When it came time to dive in... I started with the Chicago Dog and it looked decent, even with one sad slice of tomato across the center. It's supposed to have a small wedge of tomato inside it. The pickled green peppers were all at the back of the hot dog and there were only 2... so, I didn't get a bite of this until I got to that part of the hot dog. The rest of it was on-point! They even used a Vienna beef hot dog. When it came to the Italian Beef, I got the au jus on the side to dip and it came in a small cup, so I poured it onto the sandwich as I was eating it. Unfortunately, the beef was very dry, even though there was a LOT of it there and the spicy gardenia was basic and bland... I hardly noticed it was there. The bread was starchy and dense and not flavored well. Overall, this wasn't a very good Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich. I really wanted to like this place, as it was my only hope for trying the basics on this visit, but I wasn't too impressed. If I needed to stop in here again in the future, I'll only go with the dog, definitely not the Italian Beef.

An army of people was cooking and I ordered a Chicago dog, which came with fries and was about $10. No bad. The meal was ready in about two minutes. Freaky fast . The peppers really accentuated the relish and the dog itself was juicy and perfectly Cooked. Eh on the tomatoes.

I was patently waiting for my Chicago dog when I was asked to move three times by some jagoff. I wasn't bothering anyone, they ended up refunding me and kept the tip. Fuck that Amex is getting a charge back. All I had was attitude from the staff. I get it your servicing thousands of passengers but no need to get as nasty as the staff did in causing necessary drama, because "Latisha" wanted to move a crowd around. That's a management problem. Just another example of why O'Hare is a joke and clearly the staff at this location could be trained better. If they cant get a Chicago dog out in less than 60 seconds, clearly they dont have the adequate motivation or financial backing to help them be successful. Skip this place, go to F concourse. I had a dog with in 3O seconds of ordering from the Blackhawk's place. All I wanted was a Chicago Dog, and this place failed on every level, such a basic item, they couldn't get right and reflects not only upon the management but the ownership. Employees don't give two shits and lost all compassion for what it is to be human.
