The friendly staff are helpful and can point you in the right direction for what you need. There's an information desk to the left when you walk in and you can usually ask questions there, if there's no one there the cashiers can help. They do so many different things that I didn't know about - they rent power tools and it's super affordable (I rented a sander for 4 hrs for $10), they repair screen doors, they have garden supplies...the list goes on. The till counter also looks like it has been there for years. The aisles are narrow and chock full of just about everything you could want. The staff are very friendly. This was a level of service. I did not even know it was possible at Home Depot. I truly appreciate the time he took and how he treated me essentially like a VIP. For only $60 I left with two extra keys, the door knob I came in for, and a cute little keychain. In this economy, those are fantastic! Based on this experience, I will absolutely be returning exclusively to this Home Depot location as long as he is the manager.

The manager refused to honor next day mulch that was no longer on sale. They know I'm a regular customer who is at the home depot for my projects at least 2x- 3x a week. The managers are heartless and don't care about customer satisfaction. I have to go further out to get exceptional customer service and other managers have honored small request that doesn't cost a thing or put them in any loss... I stopped going to this location and if anyone is expecting exceptional service save the time and headache and go to another location. I promise you there are better plants and nicer and more helpful people at other locations away from providence. Lowes also have better customer service.

Even Durfee Hardware in Cranston didn't have one (they had plenty of 2-way basic toggles) but this place, this tiny little place that I've driven by a thousand times without ever noticing, they knew exactly what I needed -had it in stock- gave me some wiring advice- and charged me all of $2.89 for it. This is actually a plumbing supply business. I used to go here more often earlier in my career,…read morebut now it's not my first choice when it comes to plumbing supplies. Their selection and inventory is not as good as it once was. They're okay for basic stuff, but if you need any out-of-the-ordinary plumbing items (which, on the east side of Providence, is quite often, considering the number of old houses), you are better off going elsewhere, such as Ardente Supply. One time, one of the plumbers I work with was replacing some rotted 4" cast iron drainage pipe in an old house. He stayed on the job while he sent his helper to Seekonk Supply with a list of PVC pipe and fittings. When Seekonk Supply had picked most of the order, the apprentice called the plumber to inform him that the supply house did not have one common, but critical, fitting. So, the plumber told his apprentice to leave the rest of the items there and go somewhere else. Unlike some other plumbing supply companies, I have rarely seen homeowners in here, so they seem to cater almost exclusively to trade professionals. Their parking lot is quite small, although there is on-street parking available. Over the years I've been coming here, most of the countermen - who've been a mix of older and younger guys - have been decent. Today, however, the older guy who waited on me was struggling pretty badly with a simple order. This location is actually a branch store of Seekonk Supply; their main location is in Rehoboth, Mass., and has a much wider selection of plumbing supplies, including pipe and fittings used in commercial and industrial plumbing. One good thing I can say about the Providence branch of Seekonk Supply: they are one of the few supply companies that have free coffee!

It has been a nightmare to try to place an order. Calls not returned and order never placed. When calls are answered at the pro desk, they will keep placing on hold instead of talking to the customer. When I have worked with them, they have had terrible customer service. It's been a total waste of time, which is wild because they get credit and bonuses off the orders pros place and I have spent over 50-100k at home improvement stores within 6 months on renovations, so my sales are very easy for people to make money off of. I also place my orders in a quote for them and all they have to do is push it through to get credit. I will place my orders with other Lowe's.
