Garlic Knots
Sue L.

We stopped in tonight before the boat parade, mostly because everywhere else we tried was full. This will be where we go first from now on! We tried the special, BarBQ Chicken Pizza, and it was delicious! Very thin handmade crust, perfect sauce - not too sweet, not too spicy - just enough chicken and some roasted garlic. Excellent! I also ordered Garlic Knots, and they were great! Very fresh, soft on the inside, plenty of garlic and parmesan with a tasty marinara to dip it in. We will certainly go again when in the neighborhood!

Just had the best lasagna we've ever eaten. Even better than what I can make. And a caprese salad which we shared. Place was packed (New Years Eve) with endless people streaming in but the young girl who seemed to be filling all the jobs was friendly and quick to get us a table. I highly recommend this establishment. Family friendly.

food was lackluster and uninspiring. you're better off going to ports of italy (owned by the same people) if you want actually good food.

thin crust style, very good. Flavorful sauce and toppings

Should have known we would be in for a treat here, as their more formal Italian restaurant in town (Port's of Italy) is very good. The pizza here did not disappoint. We visited for a quick lunch and found service to be quick and efficient. Pizza came out very fast and was a delicious thin crust style. Perhaps could have been cooked a minute or two longer for a crisper crust, but overall very good. We would absolutely try Ports Pizzeria again to explore more options on the menu

Pizzas were pretty good

Food was good, though expensive for what it was. Service was a bit slow. Nothing wrong, but just underwhelming.

Our vacation this year included an extended stay in nearby Southport so we decided to once again seek nourishment at this pizzeria. Once again we shared a radicchio and Gorgonzola pizza. What wasn't the same was the amount of radicchio on the pizza. It was still good, but not as good.

Great food really good pizza, little weak on the toppings but makes up for it in taste!!! Best Chicken Parmigiana in the harbor!! Oh don't forget to try the Cesar salad and the garlic knots are a must!!

What a wonderful place! The menu is simple but filled with great food! We ordered the amatriciana pizza and the ortolana pizza. Superb! There's a great wine selection and great beers from Allagash! Service is excellent!! The view is great of the cove that reaches out to the harboring

Just okay..not much flavor and too pricey for what you get or quality. I should've listened to the reviews.

Delicious everything always is! Their mozzarella sticks are amazing as is their Cesar salad. We go every time we are in the area.

We decided to share a golden beet salad though the beets were regular purple beets rather than golden. Everything was aesthetically pleasing but I did find the muscles overly sauced with a little too much salt for my palette. The lobster flatbread was fine but nothing spectacular since the flatbread was not made there. Lobster meat and corn were sporadically covering the bread. Very good for a shared appetizer. Raviolis were great but since they were stuffed with peas and to have them with pea sauce is a little bit too much but again it was tasty. The scallop dish was on the pricey side for just three large scallops with pea sauce. Apparently they use their homegrown peas in the garden which is organically good. Crab cakes were delicious. There's a little band playing in the pub on Sunday nights. Good place to go to eat after checking in the hotel.

Crock of onion soup is made with Beal broth and was super delicious. My wife had the Waldorf salad and she loved it - she said the dressing needed something, probably salt. I had the fried chicken dinner with garlic mashed and roasted carrots. They fry a whole breast from a small chicken, delish!, black pepper gravy on the side and the mashed potatoes were scrumptious. After visiting the gardens, we weren't sure we wanted to drive 30 minutes the other way for dinner, but we did and we were very happy about it! Everything was outstanding from the drinks and appetizers to dinner and dessert. They say their clam chowder is award-winning. Two in our party had the clam chowder and agreed that it was the best chowder they've ever had. These two order chowder wherever they go. They also had the calamari which they said was excellent as well. The scallops appetizer was GF and was unbelievable. I have a gluten allergy so I had the haddock without breadcrumbs. It was very, very good. I did not get sick, so they get five stars for that. The service was excellent. The vibe was relaxed and friendly. We enjoyed our visit immensely.

We were not sure about the ordering process, and after a few minutes started trying to find the pub website and look for a menu. Eventually a menu was brought to our table, and we put in an order for beer. Turns out, half of the items on the menu were not available. When we did figure out an order, more items were made not available. We settled on a NY style pizza. We did not get the toppings we ordered. Good news: the crust was very good, and worth another try! Even the leftovers were delicious the next day - not all pizza can do that. They do not know how to pour a Guinness - which is too bad, because that is a favorite beer of ours. We switched to another tap and had a local red. The tap selection is decent. The place has a very casual atmosphere, and many locals come and go and seem to have great conversation and know each other's business. Overall, a place with great potential, especially for regulars. Hopefully, another visit will be more successful for exploring the menu which sounds good.
