Would have given 5 stars until we got the bill and see we were charged an extra.50$ for the choice of ham- it did not state that on the menu and the waitress did not mentioned when ordered. .50 cents not a big deal but surprises are never appreciated on a bill. Stopped in to have a light lunch as We continued our way up the coast. Britany suggested my wife and I split a chef salad as a regular salad is HUGE. She was so right. Her suggestion was spot on and her demeanor made us feel like family with her smiles and great attitude. Between she and the other employee working there (very tall young man) they were rocking the hard work. Nice to see young folks putting in the effort to make others dining experience memorable. This is an awesome spot to stop at if you're traveling down Highway 101.The ambiance feels relaxing and the decorations are cool to look at. The waitress is very nice and thorough. The chef came out to make sure everything was cooked to our liking. If you have a sweet tooth, you have to get their French toast here. I shared it with my friend and we devoured it. Stopped by on our way back to California. This is a very small cafe with a snack shop next to it. Very minimalist decoration. Bathrooms were clean! We have 11 people, but they do not have a big table that can fit all of us. We occupied 2 tables instead. I ordered Eggs Benedict, which comes with hash brown, ham, and English muffin. Portion was huge. I could not finish the entire breakfast. Hash brown was blended, and not crispy enough. I added salt and pepper to it, but still did not have much flavor to it. This place is in short driving distance from Humbug Mtn State Park and they offer a great breakfast. Not only do they offer a very great breakfast, but there is also a market attached that has all sorts of snacks and drinks. Back to the most important meal of the day or so it is often coined. I am a sucked for chicken fried steak with eggs over easy (gotta love those runny yolks. My gf got the pancake special and down if they didn't bring her a manhole cover. I also treated myself to one of their bloody mary's which is also a fave of mine and theirs was on point. Spicy with a nice assortment of accouterments on top. We watched F1 Qualifications here and their wifi signal was plenty strong. This place was so good that we came back the next day for breakfast again to enjoy a great breakfast as well as watching the F1 race - and they make a great eggs benedict. Please stop by and enjoy a great breakfast here with accommodating polite staff serving a stellar breakfast. My gf treated herself to their cinnamon roll and it was a bit too sweet for my liking which is a personal preference but she loved it and did a great magic trick in making it disappear. I visited this breakfast cafe with my boyfriend on a roadtrip. We were passing through Port Orford and wanted a nice diner breakfast. Portside Cafe was a wonderful experience. The waitress was super attentive and kind, she created a comfortable vibe in the restaurant. I got the biscuits and gravy with an egg and bacon, and my boyfriend got the Portside Omelette. They were both super delicious with large portions for a really good price. Coffee was good too. They also have a little market attached to the cafe that has snacks and drinks. Alright, alright, alright. This place has been amazing on 2 occasions. I went in for breakfast and ordered eggs benedict. The place was busy... and that's ok... I waited patiently and was eventually served a solid plate of food. -- You can also order a to-go sandwich from inside the convenience store portion of things. I ordered a turkey bacon to go and was blown away by the value. 1/3 of the sandwhich fed me well - It's hard to find good value these days but you can still find it here. Highly recommended on all fronts. The vibe is half convience store half cafe... which works just fine. Amazing place 10/10 read more

There is a market and deli adjacent to the cafe! Gary in the Deli window in the back corner of the store made a delicious sub to order following the order sheet where you select all of your options. Service was fast and friendly from the order to the purchase. Sub was cut in half and wrapped separately making an easy 2nd meal (the sandwich was huge). My friend and I stopped here looking for biscuits and gravy. This was the biggest disappointment. I'm pretty sure these were the worst biscuits and gravy I have ever had. The biscuits were very hard on the bottom and mostly burnt. My friends were very burnt on the bottom and both had a rancid oil flavor. The gravy was so bland, I'm pretty sure it was just the powdered gravy mix that they did not season at all. The "sausage" seemed like ground turkey or something, it had no flavor. I got scrambled eggs with mine and they were not seasoned and were make just poured out and then folded up, not fluffy. The service was not very good at all. The guy almost seemed rude and not happy that we were there. The decor was just classic small town cafe, nothing special. I do not recommend going here read more

This place is a hidden gem on the Oregon coast. Next door is the market where you can get market fresh sandwiches special order made fresh. Gary is an absolute genius with the flavors they create here. The cafe and market are a real treat. My wife and I have made it a day trip just to come get a sandwich and sit at the wayside. A real deal little diner! Stopped here for breakfast before taking off for a 4 day backpacking trip down the Oregon coast. We have a lot of hoity toity brunch places in Portland and the food at Portside Cafe rivals all of them in terms of food quality while not having an absurd wait and being significantly cheaper. Our waitress clearly knew most of the patrons that were eating when we got there. Apparently she had moved over from another diner in the area that she had worked at for years and grew up in the area. They have a really pleasant side area if you want to eat outside that comes with a show starring angry sea birds that will knife you for a piece of your breakfast. All the food we ordered came in massive portions and normally I would have had to take half of it home, but since we were going backpacking, I forced myself to eat it all. The best place to eat in Port Orford. 1st off the Bloody Mary was amazing could be the best I've ever had. We had Corned beef has and Pastrami sandwich both were amazing. We had a great conversation with the owner. I feel like the people who left bad reviews are either not ever happy or just trying to be mean and hurt a family owned and operated business.
