I called Portside Dentistry as a new patient to get my cavities filled. It'd been 15 years since my last dentist visit, and after my hygienist spotted a couple starting up, she recommended I see someone ASAP. I checked my insurance site and saw Portside was super close and had 5 star Yelp ratings, so I gave them a call. They booked me for the same day--no waiting around. Right off the bat, they did a full eval that uncovered a few more issues, and Dr. Noor explained it all super clearly--no rushing or confusing jargon. The office manager even came by to break down an itemized list of the procedures: what insurance would cover and what I'd be on the hook for out of pocket. I said go for it, and they tackled all the work on my upper teeth on the spot. Lowers are up next in a couple days. I've been coming here for around five years and adore the entire team. From the moment I walk in, I'm greeted with warmth and friendliness by Josie who always makes me feel like she remembers me. I've had a few different hygienists throughout the years and they have always been extremely friendly and gentle as well as educational during my cleanings. Today, Andrea was my hygienist and she is so personable and good at her job! Dr. Noor is also a favorite. I appreciate her more conservative approach which never feels like she is forcing unnecessary fillings or treatments. I know I can trust her recommendations and expertise. This place is THE EPITOME of DENTISTRY! Oh boy, where do I even start? From the moment you step into the office, you are greeted by SUPER friendly staff, Josie. She is extremely knowledgeable and organized about all things administrative ranging from insurance, bills, etc, and even fixing printer issues! The lovely hygienist, Rohzni, does an AMAZING job with taking care of my teeth and THOROUGHLY make sure there is no cavity or any remnants left during our regularly checkup. Dr. Noor is also extremely knowledgeable about her craft as well. The technology is surely state of the art!!! All the technicians there are also very helpful. Love Dr. Noor. I have had really bad experiences at other dentists over the years but at Portside dentistry I have absolutely love each visit. The employees are really nice and quickly answer and follow up with any questions that you have. The office runs on time and they do not over schedule so they can take their time with your appointment. Be warned that this dentistry is not in its own building. It's on the 2nd floor of the Newport Lido Medical Center which is literally next to Hoag hospital. I got my cavity filled by Dr Ming and it was totally stress free! She was gentle, careful and made me laugh the whole time! I really did not mind my time here at all - and I normally hate going to the dentist! I'll be back for sure, but hopefully it won't be soon ;) read more

This place was great! I haven't been to the dentist for about two years because I have some type of phobia every time I sit in that chair. Dr. Truong assured me with a calming voice that everything was going to be ok. Parking - Just park inside of the parking lot to save on the stress of having to find street parking. I was prompted to pay ~$2 but I had free parking validation from Dr. Truong so I made out like a bandit! Inside the office was a bubbly and wonderful assistant who walked me through all the procedures and paperwork that needed to be done. She was very personable and made me feel at home. There was a television to watch movies while you got your teeth cleaned so that was a major bonus! Dr. Truong was very cool and told me everything I needed to do to maintain clean teeth and also sent me home with a goody bag of a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash! SCORE! It's safe to say that I will be coming here for the rest of my life to get my teeth worked on. Thanks Dr. Truong! YOU ROCK!! read more

In terms of my teeth, I brush (using a sonicare) everyday and floss mostly every day although I could be a lot better at the flossing portion. I also use my Water Pik also which I'm still undecided of whether or not it actually helps lol. About a month ago I noticed that after flossing, the gums surrounding my bottom 3 front teeth were actually bleeding (a minor amount) and it scared me! I got their flyer the mail for the $150 first time exam promo with x rays/cleaning and decided that it was time to actually make it to the dentist office. Honestly, I really like this place a ton and mostly it's because the staff!! It's been a really long time since I've gone to the dentist, about 3 years I'd say, because I haven't since then had a job that paid for my dental and to be honest I had just always assumed that prices for this sort of thing were crazy without insurance. The consult was so freaking worth it. The dentist I had was really nice and she had a good sense of humor but at the same time I think she really could feel out how worried I was about the bleeding I saw but calmed me down after talking about the best ways to care for that sort of thing. Anyways, here's my 5 star review to the company since they made me feel comfortable with incorporating the dentist visits back into my schedule. Sucks being an adult :( oh yeah, all in all i was in and out (with appointment) in about an hour, maybe just a tad bit over an hour and that's with asking the dentist a crap ton of questions. read more

Portside was a google search result for me. I wasn't recommended by any friends or family, I went based on the reviews. From the first visit to the last (needed a crown) Dr. Noor Khedraki was great. Explains what she is doing, or about to do, each step of the way and was very caring of my sensitivity to pain. Overall experience was excellent. She's an amazing dentist and I definitely recommend. Dr. Ming is a wonderful dentist and I had a great first experience. The office has a beach theme which I found very soothing and the staff and dentist are very sweet and professional. She is very honest and tells it like it is. I received a quote from another dentist for Invisalign and Dr. Ming's quote was way less than my previous dentist. They were also able to divide the payments between my visits so it was affordable. She won't try to oversell you anything you don't need, but will give you all your options and let you decide what works best for you. I called first to check the pricing but they wouldn't give it to me over the phone because supposedly it varies from case to case. Dr. Truong and her staff were very accommodating and made it easy to schedule me last minute. I was able to provide them with my insurance information over the phone, which ended up making the process much faster and easier in the office. Once I arrived, I was promptly seated and given x-rays and the doc went over everything. I had jaw surgery several years ago, so I was surprised she noticed in the x-rays and took the time to gather more information about my dental history since it was my first visit. The cleaning was thorough and finished off with a polish and a fluoride treatment and a quick report of the areas where I needed to be more watchful. All in all, the office is comfortable with great views of Newport, valet parking for when traffic gets the best of you, and a great doctor and staff taking care of you...
