I went to Posados because in the past they have had an excellent taco salad. Yesterday went there and found they had changed the menu and ruined what was a good taco salad. It no longer is served on a taco shell and many of the ingredients were missing. On top of that is the fact they quit serving the complimentary sopappias. Great food for a decent price! I came here a few times for lunch when my place of work would send my to Lindale (I currently live in Athens) later in 2014. The menu has some great vegetarian-friendly options. The service is also great, with helpful staff members. This was one of the last Pasado's we ate at before moving to Seattle. The staff was very kind. Our one year old wasn't having a good time and our waitress tried her best to cheer her up. My complaint was the food. I love Chicken Chimichangas. The one they served me was some frozen brand and it was very easy to tell the truth. During my latest visit to East Texas, I avoided both Pasados and Mercado's. I expect homeaid and fresh food at a place in this price point. I'm not sure if they changed products, but whatever the case maybe, they need to reevaluate because they lost me as a customer and I'm sure I'm not the only one. read more

We went to Posados last Wednesday nite for the "fajitas for 2 for $16.99" special and were more than satisfied with the quality of the food as well as the portion size. We agreed the the chicken was marginally better than the beef, although both were good and decently seasoned. The setups were ample and consisted of sour cream, guacamole, cheese and pico de gallo as well as a large plate of refried beans and rice. The chips were hot and crispy and the hot sauce was really good (we must have consumed at least a quart of the stuff!). Tortillas and hot sopapillas are complimentary with the meal. The atmosphere is standard Tex Mex with lots of Mexican market style decor and a comfortable bar. Feel free to go in your shorts and flip flops. You will fit right in! read more

Pretty average. I've had better and I've had worse. Nice fresh tortillas, but nowdays you have to ask for them while before they'd bring them along with the chips and salsa. I like the chips and salsa here a lot, and they'll keep bringing them as long as you keep eating them. Tamales were pretty good though I'm not a big fan of their ranchero sauce. I keep going back here thinking it will somehow be better. But, after today I will never go back. The wait time for our food was ridiculous!! We should have walked out. The manager was unprofessional and did not need to be in management. I almost feel sorry for her. I actually do! Our server was absolutely wonderful, however . Our food was not good at all. Salsa is good. Just a little heat. Chips are great. Margaritas are great. We had mixed fajitas for two. Although price was high (26.00) it was exceptionally good other than the sauteed onions which were tough. Fajitas usually include sauteed green peppers. The beans and rice were good. This is our 2nd time at Posados and I must say its a very family friendly restaurant and super yummy! Their warm fresh tortillas, sopapillas and ice cream were a hit for my two kiddos. There service each time has been great. My son spilled his milk and food everywhere and even fell out of his chair...not once did they seem irritated. They kindly helped clean up the mess. I'd highly recommend Posados to anyone! I wish they were in Arizona! Update: We visited Posados again and we did not have a very pleasant visit. One hostess through another under the bus in front of us because she accidentally seated another family in our booth. It was clearly a mistake and her actions were inappropriate. As a person with Celiac disease, this is maybe the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I've eaten at dozens, maybe hundreds, of Mexican food restaurants in my life, and usually the beans, rice, and anything made with corn tortillas are gluten-free. I've never had problems finding gluten-free options at a Mexican restaurant until I came to Pasado's. I ordered crispy tacos with rice and beans without thinking anything of it, and my grandma told the waitress I had Celiac disease and couldn't eat gluten. The waitress then let us know that literally nothing, and I repeat NOTHING, on the menu is gluten-free. When asked why, she responded that the spice mix that they use in everything has flour in it. Ummmmmmm? Why? I asked about plain black beans, and even they had this inexplicably gluten-filled spice in them! She just said that's the way they do it here, and that I could try just corn tortilla chips in plain nachos with only cheese and that might be okay but it's still cross-contaminated. I ended up having to go with this option since I was with my family and we didn't have time to go elsewhere. Pretty disgusted and appalled that the "spice mix" that they use in everything has wheat in it so that it's impossible for anyone with a wheat allergy to eat here. That's lazy cooking!!! Get wheat out of your mystery spice mix, Pasado's! I guess my one positive is that the waitress thought to tell me about the presence of gluten in my food, but she was still a little snippy and rude about it, like she was irritated that I had a gluten allergy. Hi, I was just there with my family and even though I understand that the nachos are an appetizer, I find it hard to believe that 16 chips were all that was on my plate. I ordered the guacamole, tomatoes & sour cream separate so when I go to remove them from the plate, I'm left with 16 chips!! That's about $1 per chip!! That's insane!! The bar crew was all masked minus 1 female but her attitude said it all. 10/10/20 7:10p, I called and was put on the counter (not hold) for 5 minutes. I hung up and called back at 7:16p. I ordered and picked up my food at 7:49p. We entered and 3 female workers passed us saying nothing, 1 new girl (I assume) just stared at us and didn't try to help (no smile, no greeting,didn't alert the busy people we existed), a very busy young man walked up to enter an order and shouted out to another very busy young man working the bar and he came to politely help us and thanked us for choosing them (perfection). The two boys are the only reason I tipped at all. If any of the 3 young women were my daughters I'd be embarrassed. The disregard and overall attitude was evident. They forgot our drinks and she acted like I was fibbing when I said it. I accepted that because it's busy and at this point I was ready to return the attitude but chose not to. I signed my receipt and tipped out of Covid civility. Wake up this morning and my card reflects "Approved charges" with a 20% tip. Nope! I did not. The manager checked and they reconciled so this is likely an issue with the card not with Pasados. The manager was on it very helpful. The first (& only) time eating here... We stopped for lunch on a week day passing through. I had the street tacos (chipotle chicken on flour) and they were...fine. You get 2 forgettable sides with the meal (I had tortilla soup and charro beans). My husband had the lunch beef enchiladas and said they were "good, like a TV dinner!" Not an insult from him (he likes those nasty things!) but I think it says it all. Why only 2 stars? My husband liked the roasted salsa so asked to purchase some. $2.99 for 2 ounces! Also, my street tacos were on the dinner menu, but the amount of food served was more appropriate for a lunch item (but cost $13.69!). Overall, good service, meh food, and way overpriced. Margaritas! NO! Went out with a girlfriend to an almost empty barside restaurant and we both ordered a grande margarita. I ate here a few times when we first moved to Hideaway. This being only one of 2 Mexican restaurants nearby, I had to eat here more times than I wanted to. The cheap, gross ingredients was enough of a turn off but when there was a bug in my food, I decided that was the last straw. I refused to eat here. Months, if not a year, went by and we were desperate for a family dinner so my husband talked me into giving it another chance and as usual the food was so nasty and it wasn't until I'd finished half of my enchiladas that I once AGAIN found a ROACH. The first time it was disgusting but I was willing to let it go, it can happen. Two times, no way. The odds of that happening in a clean, well cared for kitchen, are very slim. I've heard many, many similar stories from neighbors. I would advise you to STAY AWAY even if you're ok with a little extra protein in your food. First of all let me say this I realize that help is really hard to find and my husband and. Are really understanding to the waitstaff these days. Posados has been one of our favorites for many years because the food is very consistant and and we love coming here. Since we are moving from Tyler we thought we would eat here because it had been a while. We were sat in a reasonable time. But thats when it went down hill. It took forever to get the tortillas we ordered and refills on the the tea. There were four tables that came in way after we were sat and received their food way before us. And let me add we never received our food. After waiting 40 minutes i finally asked our waitress where our food was and she rudely blamed it on the kitchen staff. After waiting 5 more minutes We put a $5 bill on our table to pay for our tea and quietly left. So disappointed. We really wanted to eat here. read more

New to the area, I have been hitting all of the local joints, seeing what's good and what isn't. I've not been too impressed so far, but this is the best I've seen yet. . The atmosphere was OK..kind of that 'festive' vibe made to appeal to gringos. Salsa was good, margaritas were delicious (watch out for the Grande- 2 of those will put you down!), and the waitress was good, despite the crowds. I had the 'fajita enchiladas', something I've never seen. The grilled carna asada was likely the best I ever had. My cousin had something with cheese sauce, and the sauce was heavy and overpowering, so don't order anything with cheese sauce. Anyways, only gringos do that. They had some sort of free ice cream machine thing on the way out, but it wasn't working. My only complaint? Crowded! First crowded places I've seen in Lindale. We went around 7 on a Saturday, but by 9, the place was dead. I am still working my way through all of Lindales restaurants, but it's nice to know I have a good one to fall back on. read more

Just okay at best. Usually a long wait time to get seated and get your order whether they're busy or not. They changed the menu and started charging for soapapillas. That was the final breaking point to cause me to stop going here. It may sound like a small issue but I started eating at Mercado's when they first opened when I was a kid. They and Posados have been going downhill as far as management and quality for a few years but the Posados in Lindale has really fallen off with the management they have. Now they've stopped doing something that's been in place for 30 years. I'll more than happily take my business elsewhere. read more

My family and I have been eating here for years. I had a surgery late last year which requires me to eat child size portions. I have a signed card from the doctor I carry around just for this purpose. I was "refused" today by the waitress who then got the manager who proceeded to insist the the child size portions are the same as an adult portion. I have been taking my grandchildren there for years too. The portion story is not true. The manager would not even look at my card and insisted that the food portions are the same and only the price is lower for children. So, I ordered a la cart which was fine, however, I don't appreciate being lied to and then dismissed as if I was a scammer. read more

Took my mother to the Lindale Posado's Cafe for her birthday last Monday. Have dined at almost all of the Posado restraunts in both Tx and La and this one seams to be getting worse every time I visit. My wife's tortilla soup was about half the size of previous orders and was not even hot. The luke warm soup had one tiny piece of chicken and almost no vegetables. My enchiladas contained about the meat and cheese as normal and the sopapillas were tiny as well. Thank goodness we ate at the Posado's in Lufkin on the way home and were reminded of how wonderful a Posado's could be. It is a 5 star for sure. read more

This place is phenomenal! I love Posados all over-wish they had one closer to where I live (south of Ft Worth) The server was excellent-knowledgable and kept my drink filled to the brim always. I have a weird little thing I do at Mexican joints-I take tortillas, and crunch all the chips into it, spread some butter on them and dip them into hot sauce and queso. Did the same here and it rocked! I did the 2 cheese enchiladas with no beans and subbed a side of grilled vegetables. Wow the veggies were amazing! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was my own fault, I should have gone light on the cheese in the enchiladas and should have asked for ranchero sauce rather than queso on the enchiladas. We came from out of town to this restaurant and were not impressed at all. We asked if we could sit in an area where there were no dead animals on the wall because my mom feels uncomfortable around them. I realize that's a preference not everyone has but most restaurants are understanding. The hostess was very rude and after finding a table for us we waited for 10 to 15 minutes before leaving because no one even introduced themselves as our waiter/waitress much less gave offered us drinks or gave us chips.
