    Hot honey pizza

Small place, but good vibes, trendy decore, creative menu, and stellar service . They only had 4 beers on the menu which was the main drawback, but plenty of creative cocktail options. Prices were reasonable in the $12-14 range. Pizza was thin, cheesy, and hit the spot.

    Loaded Baked Potato Pizza

My friend and I went to grab a bite on Sunday evening as she has been and mentioned the pizza was good. I was intrigued by the Loaded Baked Potato Pizza and ordered that with the sour cream on the side. I was impressed by how fast the pizza came out, probably within 15 minutes of ordering. I loved the pizza - it really was a loaded baked potato in pizza form. I liked how light it felt. The ingredients were fresh as well. I would so come back when I'm in town!

Came here on a week night with some friends to celebrate a birthday. It was not super crowded in the front so we could spread out and have that area to ourselves. Had kids with us and heaven forbid they have to sit with their parents! Many pizzas were ordered but I did not have any of them. Ordered a beer and socialized. I decided to order a pizza but waited until everyone else was leaving (that part was not intentional) and the pizza took longer to make than I had anticipated so I was stuck with my 9 year old who was bored. Employees were cleaning up the area we had been sitting in and my 9 year old wanted to help and the employee was nice enough to spray down the tables and give them the towel to wipe tables. After cleaning tables and putting the chairs back where they went, said kid ventured to the kitchen to watch pizza making. The person making the pizzas was super kind, patient and understanding of questions, wanting to watch the process etc. After that an employee was folding pizza boxes and kidlet wanted to help. Staff was kind enough to let them help with the boxes. After what felt like 5 hours, but was probably 20 minutes I got my pizza and took it home to eat it since my child had been bothering the staff. Cannot stress how amazing each person we interacted with was. My kid wanted black olives (they aren't listed as an ingredient or on any of the pizzas) but they asked and the bartender came up with some. Between this and letting a kid shadow you, ask questions etc while you are working, every one here was so patient and kind. The pizza I ordered was the loaded baked potato. It had mozzarella, potato slices, bacon, chives and crema on it. It was super delicious and I was super hungry and wanted to eat the whole thing but managed not to. It was $19 and the pizzas are on the small side but are wood fired and better ingredients. This was my first time here and I will be back! There were many more pizzas (and cocktails) I wanted to try but was unable to. Note: this is on a street near a fire house and parking is limited. There are some diagonal spots on the street in front of the business but we had to park in the residential area and walk a bit They also have a larger selection of board games that are for all ages (definitely ones that are for kids too) to help pass the time while waiting.

    Espresso Strawberry Martini

Had to venture out to this area because it had a little brewery scene nearby mission bay. I would have to say it's very hospitable and it's a good place to chill and watch games. All I got here was the espresso strawberry martini and spicy Paloma. I should've got the pizza it seemed like everybody was ordering it. The service was great I saw the pizzas and drinks coming out pretty quick. The espresso strawberry martini tasted more so like chocolate which isn't bad but surprising. I really enjoyed how it was filled to the top. The spicy Paloma was no joke. It was absolutely spicy but nonetheless enjoyable. I will probably be coming back to try out the pizza everybody was ordering.

We came here after a bike ride at the beach. They have beer on tap, some cocktail choices and pizza, salad and wings. We ordered three meat ballet pizza aaa ricotta on pizza is a fav for me. The pizza here is very tasty. The atmosphere is kind of relaxed and quiet. We were here on a Sunday afternoon.

Came here for my first time and I already want to go back. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza for $18 to share with my friend and tried their Ocean Water which is a blue margarita served in a Jarritos Mineragua bottle. The presentation of the drink threw me off at first but it was good and refreshing. I would order it again. The bbq chicken pizza was delicious; perfect amount of bbq sauce, cheese and chicken and I liked the texture of the pizza and the crust and everything all together yummmm. Service was friendly no complaints Take me back

    Caprese salad...great!

I've been to a great brewpub next door but never noticed this joint until searching Yelp for pizza options in my hood. Self seating and ordering at the counter is the norm at this no frills place. Started out with a local draft, and was disappointed how few options there were considering it's location. Caprese salad was wonderful, but the sausage and peppers pizza was quite a bit spicier than expected. We picked half the peppers off to manage the heat. Ambiance is rustic beach industrial, service was at the counter, and price was slightly above expectation. We might pop back in from time to time due to proximity, but at first visit this joint does not make the list...

Sausage and peppers pizza. Tasty with a kick!

It was my first time here so I was looking forward to it. I was happy to hear they offered karaoke too so my friend & I put our name down for a duet (the iconic HSM, "Breaking Free"). Upon coming to the bar, there were a few other groups but it wasn't crowded yet. It was about 30 minutes later, and several more people had come to the bar now. My friend went up to ask the guy (leading the karaoke) a question. At this point he tells her: "well, I already played your chosen song an hour ago...and it's the same crowd, so...". There wasn't a conclusion if he was asking us to choose another song or if he was just giving his personal opinion. We also simply disagreed that it was the same crowd as an hour ago, and also I didn't realize there was a rule about playing the same song per hour? Given there wasn't a conclusion from the conversation, my friend & I decided to keep our chosen song since we were looking forward to singing it. 10 more minutes passed and we were next in line. My group came up to the stage to get ready for when we were called. But then, we were skipped! The audacity! Someone else from my group went up to address why we were skipped. He said "I just won't play that song!". Honestly I'm wondering if he just had a personal issue with that song lol. Like bro just play it for three minutes and make the customers happy? Since we were upset about his power trip, we took our buisness to Redwing. I am happy we made this move. I will say, the drink pitchers are worth the money & the bartender was nice. The cup pong was fun entertainment.

The main food available is from Pizza Cassette, which has delicious sandwiches and wood-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza pies. It's dog friendly and great for groups to still feel intimate with standing areas, barrel table tops and picnic style tables. Weekly specials for their pizza too so stop by often. I love the staff at all of the establishments, I can tell they enjoy working here and believe in their products. My only "complaint" has nothing to do with the businesses but rather the parents who can't control their kids. Please please please keep an eye on your kids. It's not the job of the people working here to keep your kids safe. Please rein them in so they aren't trying to go into the "behind the scenes" area with all the equipment and machines are. The only Phil's I knew at that point pertained to coffee. Lol. Not being a huge meat eater, I was kind of standoff-ish about the idea but since the establishment is known for being a staple visit whenever people come to SD, I had to do it. The 17K+ reviews and the 4.5 star solid rating also helped with that decision. Known for their slow cooked meats and their large portions, Phil's BBQ is a casual dining experience where you get a combo of self serve and attentive service from the staff- all rolled into one. Our family of 3 arrived for a late lunch. The meal consisted of: *BABY BACK RIB + CHICKEN DINNER $25.99 -paired with potato salad + sweet baked beans *BBQ WINGS- 10ct $11.95 *SAUSAGE LINK $4.99 *COLOSSAL ONION RINGS $9.99 *LARGE SIDE: STEAMED VEGGIES $4.75 * FOUNTAIN DRINKS $3.49/each Ribs and chicken were good. These meats were cooked perfectly- lathered in sauce and very tender. The wings were good and had a light kick to it- nothing to bat an eye over for us adults but a lot of soda breaks were needed for my toddler. Beans were delicious but the potato salad wasn't a fave. The onion rings were the biggest letdown- these were massive in size but so very dry and overly crunchy. This order essentially went untouched after a few bites. the hot link was delicious and the veggies were made well but bland. 3.5 stars for the food but because this review is specifically dedicated to Kira, it's automatically a FIVE!!!! This young lady truly made our visit to Phil's BBQ 100% memorable and very much enjoyed. Service doesn't get any better than what she's offering and her warmth provided to the patrons are unmatched! Girl, YOU DESERVE A MF'N RAISE!!!!!!
