Very unhappy with my set of SNS nails. All aspects of the service were done....differently than I've ever seen done before, and not for the better. The technician burned me several times with the auto file, despite me visibly being in pain and asking him to change the settings. He filed my nails in a way I can only describe as akin to scraping nails on a chalkboard. And they still ended up uneven! I asked several times for him to fix the shaping of the nails but after they got worse and worse I just wanted to get out of there. This kid definitely needed more training, I was hoping the more experienced technician working on my friend would step in, but alas. I recently moved to Durham and was looking for a new nail place. Back home I had gone to the same place for 16 years. While my first experience here was not the best (I got gel polish for the first time and felt the job was mediocre) the owner Tom made it up to me. He called me directly and asked that I come back in so he can redo my nails. I ended up with a basic manicure and my nails were flawless. I returned today for a pedicure by Tom and my toes look great. He is kind, thoughtful, and engages in conversation which is important to me. Tom was the one that did my acrylic fill and let me tell you my nails were a damn hot mess. most of my nails were lifting and one was hanging by a thread. He took his time and and was super gentle making sure taking them off didn't hurt and shaped them exactly how I wanted. my nails are perfect now and he even did 3 coats of polish bc my color was a lighter color. Pros: they accommodated me the same day for an appointment, and their prices are low. Cons: This is a "you get what you pay for" situation. The overall quality of the work was mediocre. The technician over-filed the surface of my natural nails when prepping them for SNS. As a result, my nails have visible white spots and ledges. They are so damaged and weak that I've had to just cut them short and wait for the damage to grow out. Room for improvement: customer service. When I pointed out an issue, the technician blamed it on my nails and made a half-hearted attempt to fix it. So not only was I body-shamed (nail-shamed, maybe? Is this a thing now?), but also, the issue wasn't even addressed. read more

The service was not nice!!! Paula was full of a bad attitude once I asked for freshly clean utensils... After she shaped my nails I was looking at them.... she didn't like that and I said they were fine as I continued to look at them. She became so frustrated that she asked another technician to continue to serve me. At that point I thought this experience gets a second chance- yay.. Then the lady starts adding fees for this and for that because Paula forgot what the price of things were.. . So I decided I would only get a manicure leave and find another place to finish the job. I don't have great nails and normally I just accept it but this is just bad. Got SnS done two days ago. They didn't push my cuticles back which whatever but then they also drilled off the bottom of the SnS application. My nails look like little gum drops and I wanted this to last for awhile but since they didn't cover the entire nail I guess I'll have to get it fixed. I thought it was strange during process but I know my nails are not the best so I'm always hesitant to ask why they are doing certain things. I wish she would have pushed my cuticles back before doing the application. It was suppose to be a self care moment but I felt like they were rushing me out. Oh well. read more

Tom and Cindy run a clean and professional shop and their prices are more than reasonable for the level of service that they provide. There are lots and lots of options in terms of nail colors. My experience with Posh Nail Spa was great! I was looking for a new nail spot post moving back to Durham and saw all of the wonderful Yelp reviews for Posh, and wanted to try it! I was able to sneak book about 4 days in advance for a basic/mani pedi with Tony, in advance of our engagement pictures. During the era of COVID, Posh Nail Spa did a GREAT job of managing their client. When you come in, they immediately ask that you wash your hands prior to checking in. Once seated, there are plastic looking screens on either side of you, and in front, to prevent you from being too close to your nail technician or fellow customers. I felt incredibly safe and loved the job that Tony did on my hands and toes. Will definitely back for my bridal shower, and for, hopefully, with my bridal party in tow in October! read more

This salon has a lot of manicure tables in a space that is not accommodating. It was very cramped. Christina did my nails and she was very pleasant. But the color is not even. After I got home, I noticed the color near my cuticle is lighter than on the rest of the nail. Honestly it wouldn't bother me so much but it wasn't t on every nail. I don't get it. read more
