Willie is our waiter and from the time we walked in with the hostess Ayala being so delightful In giving us a different table of choice we wanted to All the bus boys working as a team to make sure your table was perfect all guests & tables were attended to. I ordered a bud draft and did not care for it and Willie so graciously offered a different choice and even gave me a sample first to make sure I liked it. Our appetizer was Zucchini flowers breaded with Ricotta cheese. It was the best I've ever had! That dish is very Italian and you usually don't see it in restaurants, So I was very impressed by such a detailed delicious dish being served. My friend had for her main course Chicken Franchese with pasta. The servings are all very generous. My main course was Fresh mozzarella with tomato and roasted peppers. I also added Avocado, & capers with fresh lemon & Extra virgin olive oil. I loved how they did not have a problem with menu changes or requests. Our dessert was so incredibly good! Warm Banana Pudding bread with Vanilla Gelato. The evening was great. The Restrooms were very clean the outdoor cafe part was really nice. Honestly I have nothing but a Great review. There are 3 owners and they were all there greeting all the tables. I love how personable it is, I could have felt more Welcome. Customarily, when a diner has waited in excess of one hour to be seated and served, management expresses its regret and seeks to make it right. That's not how Positano does it. No, they berate the customer. At least, that was our experience when we mistakenly chose to celebrate a 50th birthday at Positano with a pleasant dinner among friends. We arrived early for our reservation yet were asked to wait 25 minutes for a table. We then waited an hour for our appetizers to be served while neighboring diners that were seated after us received and finished theirs. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to Pasquale, the manager, we were offered a list of excuses. "It's a holiday weekend." "We have two large parties." And incredulously, "You arrived eight minutes early." Any other establishment would make the customer the priority. Not Positano. Not Pasquale. Instead, he not only chose to make poor excuses, he wouldn't stop. He refused to leave the tableside and actually tried to pick a fight, making outrageous comments such as "You are trying to disrespect me!" For the crime of arriving early, spending $60+ on drinks at the bar, we "enjoyed" an hour wait to not eat and an argumentative manager who has clearly forgotten the restaurateur's maxim, "The customer is always right." To call it a disappointment would be a compliment. Never before have I encountered such abysmal service and maltreatment at a restaurant. Fellow diners, be warned. read more

On a super rainy Friday of Memorial Day, Positano was jumping! Everything was on point (besides the weather)-- the staff, the food, the drinks! 5 of my friends and myself enjoyed a really lovely evening of wonderful food -- we ordered everything! For starters, we shared the meatballs, mozzarella in carozza, crab cakes, and a salad special. We enjoyed a cacio e pepe course. For my entrée I had the Chilean sea bass miso special - ALL DELICIOUS! Frank was our server and he was extremely attentive and friendly, as well as his team. Frank knew the menu inside and out and answered all of our questions. It's not an inexpensive place to eat, but for the quality of the food and the service it absolutely overshadowed the loud music. I would give it a 1 for music selection. But the food and service was so good that I had to overlook the music. Work on the music please. This local Italian restaurant has great food at fair prices. Expect to pay about $22-30 for pasta. They also serve great fish. I haven't tried their veal or beef but it's a little on the pricer side if you decide to order that. Discovered this place after being ignored at Annabelle's Pastaria. It's so good that we went here twice within the span of a week. The food is ridiculously good. First visit, had the lamb and risotto with a sweet red wine reduction. Lamb was grilled to perfection and the sauce elevated the dish to even greater heights. The seasonal banana bread pudding was to die for. Never had bread pudding like it, moist and not overly sweet. Went extremely well with the dulce de leche ice cream and the caramel sauce. Second visit was at Christmas Eve, locked us into a pre-fixe menu but gave us a chance to try different things. Fioretti is just little pockets of cheese but don't get this twisted with raviolis, it is quite different and I would say superior to it's cousin. Pork Shank ossobucco was just perfection. Enough for 2, so naturally I had an awesome lunch the next day. Either way, delicious Italian cuisine and a great dining experience is to be had here. I have fallen in love with this restaurant! A girlfriend suggested we go here for food and drinks and it turned out to be an excellent choice. WE LOVED EVERYTHING. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was cooked perfectly not too chewy and tasted great. Main course I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious!!! Im dying to try it again. My girl got the tuna tartare. Presentation was very nice. For dessert, we got the tiramisu to share, it was so yummy and sweet. After that we made our way over to the bar for some drinks. I got a strawberry mojito and OMG it was literally the best mojito i've ever had and it was so pretty the way the bartender made it. My favorite dish they serve (although it's only a special) is the pesto gnocchi. The first time we went they had a tortellini in filet mignon sauce it it was literally the best pasta dish I had ever eaten. The entire table ordered it and we all loved it. I wish we could be put on a list to be notified when they serve it as a special. I have also had the chicken parm and the the spaghetti with bolognese sauce and both were very good. I love the olive bread and whatever the tomato stuff is they serve with it. Not a fan of the meatballs, but I've read it's just a matter of preference and you either like pan fried meatballs or you don't. I don't. I work in the restaurant industry and I was blown away by this place. Our server was Luca who explained the specials and was prompt despite a busy wednesday. I got the black linguine with half of a lobster, calamari, clams and mussels. The portion size was generous and it was $39. I was expecting it to be around $50-60. Fresh and delicious. My girlfriend got the maine lobster ravioli. Also great. The service. My girlfriend got a glass of white wine. They brought out a frosted glass and poured her wine in. Before our entree came out the bus boys brought another frosted glass and poured her half glass of wine into a nice cold glass. To "freshen it up". Highly recommend this place. read more

Large parties seemed to be sat separately and nicely spaced out but smaller tables are all seated at the tables on the sidewalk. Personally these tables looked packed in and def not spaced out. The food was fantastic. We ordered a mix of 6 -7 apps - everything was fresh and tasty. Clams, eggplant, shrimp, raw bar ... If I could give it a zero I would. From the outside looking in; The ambiance of Positano's seems amazing. I was so excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately I wish I hadn't. The Baked Clams were underwhelming to say the least. The Chicken Marsala was dry and the 4oz chicken was way too thin. The Chitarra Cacio Pepe was undercooked and flavorless. The Fioretti was terrible; the pasta was way undercooked, the peas were hard, and the mushrooms were slimy/old. The Tiramisu was disappointing; the lady fingers were not even fully soaked, and it wasn't layered proportionately. All meals were bland and had extremely small portions. It doesn't match the pictures online at all! Although, being charged $12 for flat water at restaurants is typical, this is not. After examining the glass, we noticed the label was peeled off and worn, so it was clearly just refilled. Not only was the food substandard, the staff was just as bad. Two staff members kissed in front of us while we were eating. Our waiters nails were nastyy! They also didn't wash their hands in between bussing, cash handling, or attending to guests. Food , service , cleanliness, FABULOUS! Bathrooms kept extremely clean. Four stars instead of five because the seating is very uncomfortable, especially if you have a bad back. Seating is a little tight. We didn't have any drinks, so I can't say if its a measured shot , or a generous free pour. Valet parking, so no plan B required because of no parking. Shrimp wrapped in bacon with Grand Marnier sauce...deliciosa! Eggplant Siciliano cannot be described just risk it and love it, you can thank me later. Homemade gnocchi is lighter than you can believe. The special with Lobster tail and 4 other seafood over pasta was an excellent choice. Today's server Sergio and Daniel were great. Stopped in on a summer night in Bay Ridge. I had never eaten here before I was with my cousin who regularly ate here. He ordered for us as he was pretty confident I would like it. We started out with the crab cake special. It was delicious. Then we had the Fioretti pasta - oh my gawwdddddd if you ever eat here you MUST order this dish. They had a special that day which was the porterhouse steak and decided to go with that. There porterhouse steak special was delicious! It was cooked perfectly at medium rare and it was soo soft that you can cut it like butter. It also came with sides too with the steak, crabmeat mac n cheese and creamy spinach. Recently I returned to BayRidge where I grew up. I was with my husband and daughter & we were walking down toward " Canonball" park. We saw this restaurant, which also had outdoor seating, on this beautiful October day. We decided to have lunch, there. It turned out to be the most wonderful meal!
