This is officially my new go to pizza spot. I ordered a plain cheese pizza and it was outstanding! Paper thin crust with the perfect crunch and cheese that was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, both on the phone and in person. The owner even came out to introduce himself and offered me a complimentary slice of another pizza I was curious about. You could tell how proud he is of the food he's serving. It's clear they genuinely care about their customers and their craft. Even their front of house staff couldn't have been nicer. I can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. This review is solely based on the food I received. I purchased a deal from the "too good to go" app which gives a discount at the end of the day at restaurants. I have no idea how much I would have paid for what I got if I didn't use the app, so no rating on the value I received. I got it to go so I really can't rate the ambiance although the restaurant looked very clean. The cashier was very pleasant. So, I received a slice of thin crust cheese & sausage, a grandma square slice of cheese, and a thick cheese and tomato slice square. I would rate the thin crust cheese/sausage 5 stars. Lots of cheese and sausage, pretty big slice, and good pop in the mouth. I really enjoyed it. The square slices were just meh. I guess I'm just not a fan of the chunky tomatoes on pizza. Just a preference. The taste was good on both squares. So, would I return? Definitely! Not just for the thin crust either. I'd like to try the pasta dishes and the wings. Again, I'm not sure if the food is worth the price, but I got a discounted price through the app. So I will be back to try more items at the regular price. read more

Stopped in at 11:30. If you love good pizza, this is the place to come to. Lots of Choices. Classic thin crispy crust Chgo pizza, Double dough, Square, Thick crust, Deep Dish , and stuffed Pizza. We had Positano's Favorite double dough pizza , tagged it with a great Meatball sandwich and ( told new to the menu ) smash burger. Don't pass up the homemade Italian ice. They make it in house. I had high hopes for this new spot in town after reading previous reviews via Yelp and Google. With the owners self described lineage from the old country, and the fact that they advertise only using the finest ingredients - I was unfortunaly let down this first try. Ordered 2 of the specialty thin crust pizzas, a 14" and a 12" and the total came out to almost $60. I get prices are up for everything, but at that price point combined with the previously mentioned points, you really have to deliver on the product. The Good - the dough was lite, crispy and held up well. The not so good - The sauce and toppings were lacking any semblance of flavor, and were quite scarce. The bad - last thing you want when picking up your order is someone at the establishment questioning your order and saying that no one ever orders that pie. Not a ton of confidence from the get go, at that point. Hoping some of the above will be addressed by them for some improvements going forward. Wish them success, but can't say I'll be rushing back for their full pizzas any time soon. Perhaps will try something else on the menu and update the review at a later date. read more

Converted location that works perfect. They had 6-7 pizzas up and available to buy. Pick your pizza slice, order some great Italian ice and get it fast and fairly affordable. Just stopped by on a whim - rarely in the area, but heard good things about this place. My husband and I split a double dough cheese slice and also brought home an Italian ice. We weren't too hungry, but really wanted to try the pizza and ice. Very good! We definitely will go back with a bigger appetite. The lemon ice has little bits of lemon rind and is not too sweet, very refreshing. The pizza slice was a generous size, perfectly baked crust and delicious sauce. My husband saw this amazing place on facebook. We decided to give it a try and let me tell you top notch customer service, food was outstanding, The fried mortadella panuozzo was probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. We also got a 16inch cheese pizza and some side slices and i got the Italian ice that was so yummy everything was so delicious that we are actually going back this Saturday for more!! We were looking for a pizza place near Bloomingdale that wasn't woodfire pizza, with the soggy center & chewy crust. I looked this place up on Yelp & noticed Jimmy P answered every review, good & bad. That to me is somebody that really cared about his business. So, I went there with my wife. We tried the thin crust, the, Nana's Pizza and Nana's Deep dish. I like them all. I like that I can go in and get slices or a whole pie. I'm originally from Melrose Pk. I've eaten a lot of pizza in my days. Positano's is now my go to for pizza. I'll still hit the Lou's in Schaumburg and the Armand's in Elmhurst when going out for sit down with wine or cocktails. But for delivery and run out to pick-up, Jimmy P's Positano's in my new go-to. He loves his business and you can taste it in his food offerings. read more

My wife and I have been aware of the opening on Slice and Ice for some time now, but being Italian I am very picky about where I eat Italian food. I am so disappointed when I finally try a new place and the food is not very good. Today we decided to bite the bullet and try Slice and Ice and now I'm only disappointed we waited so long! From the moment we waked in it was almost like I had gone back in time and walked into my grandmothers kitchen, the smells, seeing all the delicious food, I was in heaven. We decided on the meatball and giardiniera calzone, needless to say it was wonderful, and while we were waiting sampled some of their Italian ice, truly a delight. We are definitely going back, (as soon as possible) and I will say that I highly recommend! BTW...the owner and his staff are cheerful and just wonderful. read more

I can get coupons for any pizza in area except theirs and a lot of 1/2 price ones. Also was going to try on sun mothers day and spend money but closed. I've visited Positano's a number of times and had really started to think of it as my go-to pizza spot. However, after my visit tonight, I've decided I'll be looking for a new favorite. When I arrived, I was welcomed by two pleasant young women behind the counter, who let me know my pizza would be ready in fifteen minutes. They were friendly and made me feel comfortable while I waited. As I waited, one of the owners came out from behind the counter to chat with a couple of people at a nearby table. He asked one of the staff to bring food and reprimanded her for not bringing a small size of ice. Soon after, a customer picked up a large order and politely declined help to his car. At that point, the owner raised his voice at the staff, insisting they should always assist customers with large orders, even if the help isn't requested. Seeing the staff treated harshly was disappointing and made me uncomfortable. I felt for the young women, who handled themselves with grace despite the situation. Because of this, I don't feel good about returning. I believe everyone deserves to work in a respectful and supportive environment. read more

Purchased a slice of their thin crust pizza to go a few weeks ago. The taste was fine but it was paper thin. Could not even pick it up so I rolled it up and ate it like a burrito. And the $4.50 price was too high for what you get. The other pizza slice choice cost a little more and it was a double dough crust. It looked like it was all dough. Decided to try this place seeing it has been open for a few months already. The pizza was very good - we have a pizza night every week so we try to rotate as there are few places that are consistently good. We are definitely adding them to our rotation as everyone thought the crust was nice and crunchy and the cheese blend was really good too. I had a small lemon ice cause that's my favorite go to.
