    Garlic knots ..... delicious

This place is truly a place to put on your must do list if your going through or staying in Hardwick. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. The pizza had a crispy crust except the bruschetta pizza which was a little more on the oily side for me. The meats used on the pizza and Stromboli is delicious and I'm guessing also local. My daughter also got a fettuccine alferado and the sauce was creamy and had a great balance of seasoning in it. The ambiance is nice and has rhat teue farm to table Vermont feel. Attentive wait staff. Our wait was a little long but we were there right at the peak of dinner.

I can't say enough about this wonderful dining experience . We went in for a nice lunch and although we ordered a lot of food ! We enjoyed every bite ! The pizza was the BEST I have ever had . We also enjoyed the wings and the fish and chips . We ended up with a few slices of some very yummy desert ! Oh and the dips ( ranch and blue cheese ) were the creamiest and oh so delicious. We ended up dining twice .. This restaurant has such a fun , laid back atmosphere. If you are looking for a good cocktail we also enjoyed the Hot toddy and the chocolate Godiva martini ! So when in Vermont .. this is a dining MUST !

Having chosen East Hardwick as a destination during the Covid era, there are not a lot of restaurants that are open at 8pm. Luckily we were able to find "positive Pie" which is a very small local chain in that area. The interior is very spacious, with a darker atmosphere, almost like a dive bar. They have a bar area, and tables for larger parties on the left. Service was actually pretty quick and we ordered the Beef Calzone and the Mac and cheese. The helpings were extremely generous and the wait staff pleasant. The food lacked flavor though. They can benefit by adding a bit of more salt for flavoring. We got the pleasure of talking with the staff there , Fern, who was very cool and shared some areas that we could visit during our stay there. Overall a very nice cozy joint and reasonably priced.

There were a handful of restaurants that were open but none appealed to us. Most seemed greasier than what we were in the mood for. Checked out their coop (grocery) but their cafe was closed. So bought some prepared foods at the coop and found Connie's across the street close to a cute little park. They are situated on a corner in a yellow painted Victorian close to a bridge. They have a few tables for indoor dining. I opted mine to go. Connie's is simple and wholesome basics done well. ++. Food is breakfast, lunch and baked treats. I tried their roast beef sandwich on their freshly baked wheat bread and some chips. Drink wise they have a few sodas and ice tea. +++ price is very reasonable. $8.88 for my sandwich and chips and rest of $10 into their tip jar. +++. Service was friendly and prompt. My sammie was made in 10 minutes while they had 2 other customers' orders. 2 ladies worked fast and my sammie was exactly as ordered :-) ++. Parking is street and free. They seem to have many locals. But this is a small town that likely rely on tourists so check them out if you fancy wholesome breakfast options and sandwiches!

Anyways, came back from Jay tonight and needed dinner and even though I stopped at the gas station/mart down the road and grabbed a sandwich I still felt I needed dinner (saving the sandwich for tomorrow.) Popped in and knew this was the right decision. Missed the special menu but the pesto flatbread sounded good. I went with the pot roast dinner which was phenomenal. Fell apart with a fork, vegetables were cooked spot on, and think they were deep fried mashed potatoes? That or panko covered. Ether way they were like cheese balls that were yummy. Service was excellent. The cashier had the best cheerful smile and attitude. She also served and bused the tables so she was always asking everyone one everything was. Place is inviting, I can only imagine what the vibe is in the morning when they serve breakfast. Probably will pop in when I head out of town to fuel up for the ride home. This place is definitely worth the stop not only because of what I wrote but because it's a local business and you should avoid the quick fast meal spots.

They are doing a wonderful job, and I am so, so glad they didn't come and go like the other restaurants in that spot before it. You probably knew that from the other reviews, but I have another reason I am writing this. I came here with my husband one night months ago, and he got a cocktail that had cherry and bourbon as the main flavors. I stole most of it from him :D. It was so good that every time I get another cocktail somewhere else, even if it is good, I just wish it was the cherry bourbon one. So, if you're there and they still have it on the menu, I suggest you get it. And if the establishment is reading this, my vote is to keep that one around.

We got our little buzzer and we were told to stay within a half mile. We sat outside across the street on a bench. We watched numerous groups of 3+ go in and not come back out, which means they were seated. When, after 40 minutes, we were called in, none of those groups were at the bar. Kinda makes you wonder. We ordered cokes. $5 each and got refills, but when the bill came was shocked to be charged for every refill! We spent more on cups of Coke than the actual effing meal!!! Ordered the steak medium. It was rare. Oh well, was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. But it was good. Buffalo chicken cheese curd fries were good, but chicken was dry. The cheesecake was not tasty at all. The burger was "mid," according to my son.

There are not a ton of dining options in this area, so when we were looking for dinner one night,…read morewe wound up at the Hardwick Street Cafe, which is a restaurant inside of like a small community/convention center type of venue. It's funny because when we arrived, the women at the front desk asked if we were trying to squeeze in dinner before the show, and we were like, "What show?" The food was good and the service was choppy. But I would come back and have another meal here. Everyone tried hard anyway. So we started by ordering a couple of drinks. I was surprised when I asked the young lady which of the two cider options she'd recommend and she said she wasn't allowed to serve alcohol and had to ask one of the older servers. Ah to be young :-) We ordered the cheese platter to start, which came out with four kinds of cheese, some lovely crispy flatbread kind of crackers. We order these types of things at restaurants a lot, and usually when the cheese platter comes to your table, the waiter or waitress tells you the different types of cheeses. That did not happen here so we asked - the young lady again did not know and said she would go ask someone. And then she basically just never came back with the information. We guessed there was a white cheddar, a gouda and a bleu cheese. Still don't know what the fourth one was. I got the cheeseburger, which was fine. And the potato wedge fries that I think I upgraded to were very good. My husband got the chicken and waffles special, which he said was OK. I got a piece of the special of the day chocolate chip cheesecake to go for dessert, and that was VERY good. So in all, decent and would come back. But the service was a bit lacking.
