Post Toast with an egg and water
    Shandi P.

I live in Edwardsville, but a couple of former coworkers raved about this place. I was in the area, so I decided to put in a couple of hours of work at Post Commons. What a neat place! And it's huge! They even have a rental space in the back! Finding an outlet to sit next to was a bit tricky; I think it would be beneficial to designate an area specifically for laptop users. I enjoyed a lunch of Post Toast with a sunny-side-up egg and a lavendar mocha. The toast was amazing, but I wasn't a fan of their lavender. I'm excited to go back and try something else, though.

This place is amazing! I finally made it over to Alton to check it out. I live in St. Louis city so it's a trek for me. It's a huge place with plenty of seating. They even have a private room you can rent out in the back. There was a bridal shower going on while I was there. So cute! I love the fact that it's an old post office. It's so unique. The coffee was spectacular. I got the white rose latte which was on special for February. Delicious! I also grabbed a pastry which was so so yummy. And then I had the slinger as my meal. It had a little spice to it, but it was delicious! I would definitely get it again. I can't wait to come back to this place! So many cute places for photos as well! Keep in mind parking can be a little tough if it's busy. It's street parking. There is not a parking lot. Also, there is not table service. You order at the counter and they give you a number and then the food or drinks will be delivered to your table. We went on a busy Saturday morning And the line to get pretty long. But it's so worth it! We had to wait in like about 10 mins to order. Then about another 20 for our food and coffee to come out.

This place is so cute!! So many vegetarian options and the French toast was fantastic. I also got the matcha with lavender and it was divine. We got here early around 8:30am and it wasn't crowded at all, but later there was a line. They also have a pizza place in the same building that we can't wait to try!

I love this place. The vibes are good and the food is great. The baristas are always so nice. Plus, they make fire lattes and cortados. The burritos are my fav, especially the post burrito.

I did not realize I hadn't written a review for Post Commons yet! I have come here several times over the past few years and really enjoyed it! The location is unique as it is an old post office building that maintains the integrity of the buildings design (inside and out!) the service is always friendly and helpful. Our orders are made efficiently and with care! Usually my fiancé and I have had their coffee/tea items but a while back during a visit we got breakfast and it was lovely! I currently live outside of MO/IL for school, but am looking forward to coming back soon once I move back!

I'll have to go back a few more times to really get the feel of it but inside the building has tons of potential and they are doing a great job so far with the aesthetics. There are different sitting areas so I don't know how quite it is or isn't in different sitting spots. It was a little noisy due to little ones in the area where I was but that's what kids do lol. There was quite a bit of building materials and other things sitting around but it wouldn't stop me from going there again. Upon walking in it was a little different because you don't really know where to go until you start to look around and that's because the building is rather large. I ordered the lavender tea and wow, I think I have a new favorite! I will definitely revisit on another day and try more of the menu out.

Peppermint mocha, blueberry streusel, and regular coffee

Very charming cafe that offers a diverse selection of teas, coffees, pastries, and sandwiches. I opted for the Avocado Sammie & seasonal peppermint mocha. Both were beautifully crafted, filling, and delicious. The interior of the cafe really captures the essence of the old post office and has a very welcoming space for working solo or dining with friends. I totally recommend.

Live acoustic music, perfect Saturday morning vibe

Old post office conversion was very cool. Stopped by for a quick pick me up, loved the live music on Saturday morning & the fact that the lattes still taste like coffee and not just syrup! I myself got a lavender fog and it was delightful! Service was quick and friendly, they were celebrating an anniversary so we drew for a reward and received $5 off! We will definitely be back for breakfast next time we're in the area!

    Fall Spice Latte
    Christina Z.

Food hit the spot! The burrito was flavorful and has everything you could want inside with a nice hint of spice in the salsa. The biscuits from the slinger were soft and balanced well with the gravy. We got the Fall Spice Latte and Dirty Chai, which helped get us in the fall mood. This space is gorgeous! We definitely understood why so many have events here and it so fun with all the antiques and pieced together finds. Super cool that they were able to convert the space and do so much good with it. Service was timely and friendly. People helped clear our table and so we weren't waiting, we got our coffee first. The wait time for the food wasn't too long by any means. Lastly, we had the best cashier, thanks Grace!

We love the ambiance and menu. The breakfast biscuit is tasty! The coffee is always great, and it seems like a lovely venue to host an event.

There's been many times when I see something good and it helps me plan my meals for the day. The steak specials are always a winner. I'm also a fan of their burgers, onion rings and Sunday brunch. How can you go wrong when you combine a dive sports bar and a down home diner, Since SLT opened in the back kitchen of Pour Decisions, I've dined in once for breakfast and have gotten another breakfast and a lunch as carry-out meals. Each one of them was a winner. My dine in breakfast was, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and Two Pancakes. My eggs were seasoned well, whipped to a light yellow and prepared fluffy. The Bacon was thick cut and fried crisp. My pancakes made me wish I could master the skill that prepared them. They were a light golden color and fluffy. The butter melted perfectly on top and the pure maple syrup had me wanting another short stack. My carry-out breakfast was One Biscuit and Gravy with a side of Bacon. The biscuit was moist and fluffy like a white cloud on a summer day. The white gravy was full of finely chopped sausage and was not overly salty or peppery. With the B&G, I had a side of Bacon and like my dine in experience, it was top notch. Being a carry-out, it was not very photogenic. Perhaps I'll get a good photo when I order it as a dine in experience. The lunch carry-out was top-notch. My favorite burger is a, Jalapeño Burger and today it was their lunch special. It had Pepper Jack Cheese, plenty of fresh jalapeños and was served with Skinny Fries. Yum-Yum. They even gave a huge thick slice of white onion, lettuce and a hearty slice of tomato. Adding those extra garnishes and the large side of crispy fries, I may not need another meal today. You can tell it's a mom & pop business, because the service is always so personable and friendly. I highly recommend.

I had the Irish cheese sandwich, Justin went with the corned beef -- and both were genuinely good. Comforting, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a pub meal. Now... the kitchen was moving a bit slow this visit. Was it noticeable? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Also yes. Because Sam -- the female bartender -- absolutely made the experience. Fun, engaging, and the kind of personality that makes you feel like you're already a regular even if it's your first visit. That kind of service turns a "slow day" into a good memory. The menu is packed with authentic Irish favorites, and honestly, next time we're absolutely going to lean fully into the classics -- because this feels like a place that does traditional comfort food right. It was set up for a small happy hour before the ceremony for the guest and future Mr. & Mrs. to mingle. Then the ceremony took place in the main room with all the guest seated a their dinner tables. Once the vows were exchanged, it was time for dinner and more cocktails. The buffet was set-up in the smaller room that you first enter from the outside. The only con I saw was the floor being a bit wonky in a few places (not in the natural walkways, thank goodness). It can catch you a bit off guard when you are skirting the dance floor when in heels. Not a huge issue, but it's something to scope out before the event so you can warn your unsteadier elderly guests away from those few areas to avoid mishaps. This is in to way a criticism of the venue, it's in a much older building and that just sort of the way things are in older places. :)
