Post corner pizza has been around forever and I'm not sure how it has managed to stay open. The one consistently good item on the menu is the Greek salad. We ate there last night and it will be the last. The iced tea was like water and when we told the waitress, she already seemed to know there was an issue with it. She was rude from the minute we sat down, the well done pizza we ordered was barely cooked enough let alone well done, the margarita personal pie was disgusting and when the waitress asked if it was okay and was told that we didn't like it, she said "Yea, the margarita pizza isn't good here" and the kicker....one of the people in our party didn't get his meal at all. We told them to remove it from the bill and they blamed the cook. $55 for a pizza, a salad and two orders of mozzarella sticks. I felt like I had been robbed. Never again. read more

This place is pretty awesome. I have been coming here about five or six years with my kids for their amazing greek style pizza and salads. Always a great family night and I love the pizza. Reminds of the late Village Pizza in Madison. Green Peppers and meatball is a fave.The kids love the bread (although we have to make sure they do not eat too much)!! They also love the fountain. They also have delivery. We usually get this once a month and they are always timely and courteous (with warm pizza). One time the pizza was pretty late. I get it -- this happens -- and it was a one time occurrence form Post Corner. We did not complain. Nevertheless we received an apology in the mail a few days later with a gift certificate. My family and I have been going here for over a decade and were always satisfied with the service, but my last few visits leave much to be desired. Maybe it is new staff who don't put as much effort into customer service as the other familiar faces. Waiting for our food was surprisingly long. The waitress offered a second basket of dinner rolls. How very nice of her. I'll overlook that she took away the basket before I had a chance to reach for the butter while I was cutting into the last roll. She'll be back soon with another basket and more butter, right? Fifteen minutes later and she never came back to our table. We had to stop her as she rushed by us and ask for more rolls. Then we waited...and waited...and waited for our pizza after we finished our appetizers. She didn't seem that concerned with our table and maybe 20 minutes later she apologized and said they're backed up in the kitchen. However, the table next to us ordered at the same time. They were a table of three and ordered similar items as we had. They were served promptly. Their pizza was done well before ours. When they finished their dinner and left, we were still waiting for our pizza. Absolutely ridiculous! By the time our pizza finally came, I already lost my appetite. And as if the service couldn't get worse tonight, when we asked for our last slice to go, they just gave us a tin foil and made us wrap it up ourselves! The table next to mine received the standard styrofoam box bagged in a plastic bag for their last slice of pizza. Quite frankly, I may have lost my appetite for Post Corner Pizza for the foreseeable future. Seems like there is a decline in service each time I've visited. Tonight was the worse service I have gotten at this restaurant. It's a shame because my family were regulars for over a decade and continued to come back due to the friendly staff. I fail to understand the rave reviews for this place. As a relatively new resident, PCP was a "must try" recommendation from most locals. We went planning on a gyro and pizza. The pizza is akin to Pizza Hut. If that is your idea of great pizza, you will love it. The dinner salad was plentiful but absolutely drowned in dressing. And the gyro? Might have been the worst I've ever had. Is this not a Greek owned joint? Thick, tasteless tsatziki sauce and generic possibly frozen gyro meat. For shame. We love Post Corner! We used to get it on pizza Fridays every weekend when I was younger. The pizza is always great it's Greek style which is a nice break from the norm around. It's consistently great and always has a great crunch to the crust. Tonight we tried something other then pizza and went for the Gyro platter which was great! They salads are great Greek style as well they have an excellent house dressing that's really good. We both highly recommend the place we always do delivery but they have a nice comfortable dinning room for nights when you want good food in comfort! read more

We used to love Post Corner--staff was friendly and the food, while not great, was always fresh and "good enough". Everything about Post Corner has gone downhill--not only is the food no longer "good enough", it is terrible. Soggy, old, stale, brown lettuce. The staff is downright rude and acts as if you're putting them out. The restaurant is filthy. The takeout is a joke--they say it will be ready in 20 minutes, and it's typically 45+...like they haven't even started it at 20 minutes. After waiting an additional 25 minutes upon arriving to pick up food AGAIN (which was 30 minutes after I placed the order), we are done with Post Corner. read more

Ok I have eaten at so many different Italian/Greek Pizza places but NO ONE makes pizza like Post Corner!! Every one I have ever brought there agrees that their pizza is the best, I don't know what they do or ingredients they use but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't ever change things!! Our pick up orders at Post Corner Pizza have been completely off putting 2 weeks in a row. Both times we were given 20-25 minute pick up times but both weeks, our orders took twice as long. We waited 55 minutes for only 3 items tonight and no apology for the wait. We are now looking for different go-to takeout place. read more

I love Post Corner Pizza, I've been eating here since I was little. My family probably picks up from PCP at least once a month, maybe more. The Greek style pizza is really cheesy and filling and goes great with their Greek salad. Eating there is fun, too. Really comfortable booths and good service. Perfect for groups or with just you and a friend. I must say that I was at first a bit disappointed with this place because of the server, but once the pizza came out who gave a damn. I must say that the pizza was the best I've had in a really long time. My family and I had to eat the pizza with utensils but boy was it worth it. I'm one to suffer from heartburn from eating pizza but I never did with this place. The salad was overly dressed with salad dressing but tasty. Apparently this place is a Greek pizzeria, HORRAY for Greece! Thanks for the coliseum and now thanks for the pizza. Next time I'm in Darien I am stopping hear for a dose of pizza. read more

Post Corner Pizza is an awesome, down to earth, absolutely delicious greek pizza place right on main street in Darien, CT. The prices are reasonable and ask for the pizza 'Well done' for a crispy crust. The greek salad is delicious and for two people, a small greek salad, two drinks, and small/medium pizza will run you about $20. Not bad for Darien town center! The only negative is never go as a group of teens. The staff does not groups of teens or young adults without an older adult present, so you might get worse service and hurried out. But if you have time, it's worth a quick stop for some greek pizza! read more

If you like Greek style pizza and have never tried Post Corner, you really should go there. I suspect it has a "sister" restaurant in Stamford that I'm a slightly bigger fan of, but that's a digression... (read my other reviews and it becomes obvious) In a nutshell, all you need to know about PCP is that the food is very good. The atmosphere is nothing special (very family-friendly). The service is nothing special either, but I want to be clear I've never had any problems either. The only complaint I have is that their beer tastes a little "off", almost like it's being watered down a bit? So, good food, everything else is best summed up as adequate. read more

I've been eating at PCP for over 30 years (continuing to visit when I am visiting family in the area) and especially enjoy their Greek-style pizza and salads. The menu provides plenty of options and the wait staff is very nice. They won't steer you wrong, if they recommend a dish. My only negative is that at some point over the years they changed the pizza recipe. I think it's the dough, but can't confirm it. I've asked and the wait staff doesn't seem to be able (or willing?) to share why. That being said...it's still good pizza! My favorite is the bacon and onion. read more

I give it 5 stars mostly because if I didn't, my sister might kill me. We've been going here for somewhere on the order of twenty years. More, probably. There's a reason: the food is great, the atmosphere (while definitely "family-friendly") is great and the price is nice. The heady topic of the world's best pizza is thrown around when discussing PCP, but for my money, they're a bit too greasy - very good and great taste, no doubt about it, but greasy. (The salads are great, too - the dressing is nice to dip the rolls in.) Be sure to throw a coin in the fountain and get a lollipop (regardless of age) on your way out. read more

We've been coming to Post Corner for about 20 years. A great casual spot when we're not up for Matsuri, Rory's or The Goose. Most of the time we'd come with another family and enjoy a pleasant evening with food our sons enjoyed. Pan pizza was always very consistent, salad is always great, bread can be scary or delightful, you just never know. Menu is similar to a proper diner despite the pizza facade. It's cheap, predictable with generous servings and easy parking and generally no nonsense eating. Ownership changed hands a couple years back. The pizza came down a notch. Salad still great and fresh, prices went up a tad but still a great value for an affluent town. The staff started chilling down a bit, faces changed, a lot of the long term help filtered out the door. Attendance is down, no more lines in prime time. For us, we went a little less frequently as it was a bit off, but a nice place to eat. In the last couple of visits, we're suddenly getting tables next to the kitchen, even though the main area had openings. Tonight, they were very clearly looking over five empty booths, to find us a table back at the kitchen, alone with no other guests. I made eye contact with our favorite waitress as we arrived at our table, she looked angry/ill. My wife and I looked at each other, waved goodbye to the waitress and walked out the side door into the night. I have no idea how we became such undesirables, my wife is asian, we're all well dressed and clean, quiet and polite and generous tippers. It breaks my heart, after twenty years, but we got their message and won't make them uncomfortable with our patronage again. read more

It doesn't come with fries and the fountain drinks were flat with no free refills. They charged us the same for an adult drink and for a kids' size drink. The pizza was hardly cooked. The crust, cheese and sauce needed at least another 10 minutes to cook. We tried a piece and could not finish. Threw the pie away. A waste of $15. read more

Pizza is different from others but very bland. They also use a lot of oil to make the dough crispy. Their pasta is crap. I mean CRAP and they use cheap bread for their grinders. Their service blows. In my experience the worst in the area by a large margin. They like to switch up the prices and also seem to take pleasure in charging extra if you choose to pay with a credit card. If you ask how much the order is after telling them you wish to use a credit card they always say "I'm not sure, it'll be on the receipt". It's outrageous but I just dealt with it every single time because my grandfather likes their bland pizza. Deliveries are always late by at least 15 minutes (I live about a half mile away) and the food is usually cold or disheveled upon arrival. Don't order from here. If you do, well, you can't say nobody warned you. read more

I know there's a teensy bounce for nostalgia, but this place is beyond great. Thick, chewy, crisp crust, light sauce. My personal favorite *custom* pie? eggplant, artichoke, and feta. my family adds broccoli (puh-lease), maybe olives (mmm). One son goes with standard pepperoni. Other son goes with east-coast White pie. The large pies are cut straight across so center pieces are square and edgeless, some outer pieces are triangles of edge with a tiny bit of stuff. Man. Greek salad. Crinkle cut fries. Eggplant parm sub. Spaghetti with meatballs and marinara. There is not a mistake on the menu. What's weird is not a thing about this place (except they serve the Greek salad in a big bowl now instead of on a flat platter which, if you ask me, is a mistake) has changed, including the big round table in the corner that's crowded with two families (no dads, they're still on the train home probably) with lots of young children wriggling about. Used to be my family, you know? Greek desserts are really great, but there's a Carvel down the street just a bit and you're going to want to end up there. Ugh. And try to ignore the insipid encroaching Sbux that has somehow taken up residence one door down, forcing you to acknowledge that this is, indeed, Connecticut in the new millennium. read more
