The only bad thing I can say about Post Corner Pizza is that I got really fat that summer over 30 years ago I was working nearby. The food was so tasty and plentiful and the service so good, I ate nearly all my meals there. My colleagues and I often enjoyed the pizza. By myself, I'd stuff gorge myself on enormous servings of pasta with chicken parmesan. Good to see they're still at it. read more

I worked in Darien for 22 years 1981-2003. I had their pizza at least once a week. It was addicting. I swear there must have been crack in the sauce it was so addicting. ;-) just kidding. Great crust too. It was 2003 when I stopped working in Darien. When I went back after some years the taste had changed. Although still a very good pizza something changed. That addicting taste is gone. Crust still great. Recipe may be the same but, different brands, supplier or cook could make a big difference. My mom loves this place. It's her favorite pizza hands down. She loves the doughy bread and the crispy crust. She always gets hamburger/meatball on top. Last time I got a personal chicken pizza and it was delicious. The perfect size for one person, if you're hungry. We also love the combination grinder/sub. My boyfriend grew up in the area and every time we go back, he always says he needs to take me to Post Corner Pizza. He's been going there since he was a kid. Walking in, the atmosphere was old school with pink and green booths. Definitely a family style place. The menu was huge but I was there for the pizza and a Greek salad. The pizza was pretty good. A little oily on top but nothing some napkin blots couldn't handle. I especially liked the sauce, which was tangy and the crust. They have a unique style of cutting it too. Instead of triangle slices they cut it in square. For myself I love crust so got to have more of it that way. The Greek salad was the best I've ever had! I loved the single block of feta on top. The dressing, which I imagine was house made was super. A small portion salad comes out in a big bowl and is only $6.50. The only downside was the service was a little slow. Prices were very reasonable. Will go back again for the Greek salad. read more

This is probably one of the best pizza places in town. We stay close by and we often visit this place or order in when we have a craving for pizza. I don't know why, but I was sitting in the jacuzzi at my Gym tonight way out on the apron of the continent (California) and suddenly thought of Post Corner Pizza. I grew up in Fairfield County, the first stop in bucolic New England as Manhattan and Westchester spit you out into Connecticut via I-95. We ate here what seemed like 3X a month. It was THE Pizza place to go in Darien. Post Little League games, Hockey Games, Boy Scout Meetings, first dates (on a saturday afternoon with that Girl who was your babysitter's younger sister years ago). Many fond memories of Post Corner Pizza. Good, solid, East Coast Pie. Sure - it's not Manhattan Pie, but it's still East Coast baby....and as most transplants will agree, California still has not figured out East Coast Pie. read more

I quite enjoy the food from here. Tonight I was however offended. we order here quite regularly at my house and for parties, tonight I'm home alone and ordered a dish. The delivery man said, "it's not worth me coming here for one dish". I found that offensive especially since it's a 4 minute drive, and my cars in the shop. Definitely a fan! Awesome greek salad, and the price is right. The salad had a bunch of Peperoncinis.. which is the best! I like places that bring rolls before your food comes out, so that is always a nice touch. I have also had their mozzarella sticks, which were tasty, and their pizza, which I could have done without. My brother and I were looking for dinner, and were debating Chipotle and a few other options. To do something different, we decided to order from here. I had previously come and ate a pretty good chicken parmigiana grinder. It was flavorful and moist unlike other similar grinders. Tonight we had a craving for calzones, so we ordered two bacon calzones and wings. Our experience when we sat down at home, was certainly lacking. The calzone was clearly pressed with a machine, and contained about a pound of mozzarella, and not much ricotta or bacon. It was greasy. The sauce came straight out of a jar; typically I can tell the difference between jarred sauce and fresh sauce - The flavor has hints of sweetness, and the spice mixture is overwhelming. The wings were frozen from a bag and thrown into the fryer. This is my first review, because I was disappointed in this experience and will not go back; there is a John's Best that is closer on the Post Road, and it is likely cheaper. My expectation of pizza and Italian-type dishes was far from satisfying. I can go to Pizza Hut if I want mass-produced, low quality food. I hope they start taking the time to make their own ingredients. read more

Definitely my favorite pizza place. Just like a traditional Italian place, but with an awesome Greek twist. The pizza is absolutely amazing. It has a really thick, doughy crust and is covered with a really rich, flavorful tomato sauce. The salads are great too, covered with toppings and absolutely huge. I'd really give this place 2.5 stars. Very sad to see this place lose its flavor and charm after years of coming here. When I say flavor I mean it literally, our food had none. The pizza just does not taste the same and the house salad was a clump of iceberg lettuce drowning in oil and low grade mozzarella cheese. Barely any of the delicious veggies they mention on the menu appeared in this salad either. Our waitress also appeared to be under the influence which was kinda sucky to see. We were soooo excited to give this place another try after all the good meals we've had here but left Post Corner feeling just so disappointed tonight. Growing up, Post Corner Pizza was a staple in my family's dining repertoire. I go as far back as to it's original location, before they renovated. It used to literally be a dark, tiny brown interior which was better suited for take out than dining in. However they renovated it at some point during my childhood and I remember being sad not being able to eat their delicious and unique pizza for over a year. The new building was much larger, bright, and very inviting for a family. The interior is very much a diner type style filled with booths and bright colors. When I was a young teenager my family moved away from CT, and it was only recently that I returned to the area. I was extremely excited to return to my favorite dining locations with Post Corner being near the top of my list. However it was disheartening to find that the quality has gone down as of late. I am not sure if I just overly hyped the pizza as a child or if it indeed change... However now of days the pizza feels like it is only a shadow of it's previous glory. It's mainly the flavor that seems to have changed. Not tremendously, but now of days it feels like it is a lot blander than when I was a kid. I think things are rushed now of days. It used to take a good long while to get your pizza, but now it comes out in a matter of 5-10 minutes. Another complaint I have is with the service. Every time I go there now the waitresses seem to spend half their time gossiping in the corner. Twice now I have gone and they forgot to bring bread. In fact once I had to ask three servers before I finally got some. The servers have obviously been working there too long and have become complacent and lazy. It makes me sad to see a lot of the things I loved about PCP disappear with time. Actually I have noticed this with a lot of my previously favorite restaurants. It seems that most of them have given into the temptation of cutting corners in order to save money and also push food out faster to get more customers through the door. Despite these changes, PCP is still regularly filled and quite busy on weekends. I would recommend checking this place out simply because of the uniqueness of the pizza. Though not as good as it used to be, the basic form of the pizza still exists. The strength of the pizza is, and always has been the crust. I have tried to replicate this crust at home as I love making gourmet pizza from scratch, but can't figure out what they do. It's light, crisp, and airy. It is thin and filled with tons of air bubbles. It is different than NYC style, Chicago deep dish, Sicilian, and Neapolitan styles. Most certainly unique in it's own right and for that I will always return to Post Corner Pizza, despite it's degraded quality. read more

I've been going to Post Corner Pizza for probably about 15 years now. A great place to go with friends or family. Post Corner has affordable prices and big portions. A favorite of mine is the Pizza Cheese salad (basically a regular salad that comes with a ton of shredded mozzerella cheese on top - but as a kid I loved the name and it has remained my favorite). They have great house salad dressing. Excellent pizza. A wonderful spot in the middle of Darien. Parking is located behind the building and is limited. A minor complaint. read more

Came off 95 looking for a place to eat. We were very happy that we lucked upon this place. Because of the name, we expected a pizza joint. The menu is large with a variety of options. I've been coming here first with my dad, now with my husband for over 30 years! The salads & pizza are ADDICTING! I live in NY, but the hubby and I will always find an excuse to be in CT for Post Corner Pizza. Today it was after a visit to Bass Pro Shop, and we had our go-to, a small mozzarella salad w/ house dressing & a small pie w/ sausage & olives. Plenty for 2 people that are good sized eaters!! Delicious as always and the waitress is super friendly. We've tried many things over the years and don't have a single complaint. Yes, when it's crowded you will wait longer but isn't that true of any restaurant?? Bottom line, go for the Greek style pizza, and salads!!! read more

Sometimes a restaurant just makes you feel welcome. Our waitress while busy was friendly, efficient, and communicative especially with our 10 month old daughter with whom she made friends. Patrons from nearby smiled and came over to say hi explaining that despite living in Boston they still make sure to stop off for dinner remembering when they used to eat here when they were kids. It isn't often that a restaurant draws a mix of families, younger kids, and older couples all at the same time. That may be the mark of an institution! The pizza was not as good as I remembered it to be, although still good enough to illustrate what CT Greek pizza is all about. The restaurant has aged....and not changed a bit. I am writing this updated review because I have realized Post Corner Pizza has lied to me several times. In Post Corners response to my review they said I wasn't charged for the pizza that had the bug on it. Today I realized when I was checking my credit card bill they still charged me for my pizza when they said they won't charge me for the pizza with the bug. In their response to my review they also changed their story around. In the first response they Post Corner said that the bug that went into my pizza was a cricket that hopped into it when it was being cooked due to the doors that they sometimes leave open in the summer. Now they changed the story to the bug hopped into the pizza on the way to my house in the delivery car. For several reasons this is not true because the bugs was baked into the pizza as you can see from my first review and how's does a bug that size get into the pizza when the pizza is in a cardboard box sealed. They were also trying to make it clear that it didn't happen in the restaurant when it did. The other thing that doesn't make sense to me is the other change saying they saw the bug on the way to my house and made a new pizza for me. This bothers me because there saying they saw the bug before serving it to me and they still served it to me. This doesn't make sense to me as of how the bug would get in and why they would change stories. The only reason that they change their story is to cover up that the place is infested with bugs. I am truly sadden that they would lie to me when I've been going there for 25 years. I am never going there again because I'm not supporting a business that lies to their customers. read more

I ordered a Turkey burger with lettuce and tomato. I ordered fries and they came in their own foil container. The turkey was NOT dry & was very flavorful! The toppings were fresh except for the pickle.. SN: I love pickles and have a huge standard about them so theres that.. I actually did take out, yet the atmosphere inside seemed cozy and inviting. They have two sides when you walk in. To the right is the Order to Go and the left is a dining area. The staff was friendly and greeted me politely. At the risk of being inconsistent, I'm giving Post Corner four stars despite the fact that their pizza is Greek pizza (per my other reviews I love Greek food except for the pizza). If they made pizza like this in Boston I'd give up my prejudices, probably gain some weight--be a changed man really. It's a little greasy, but man is it tasty. Ordered for delivery and once the driver arrived, he calls me to come out to his car to retrieve my pizzas myself due to the fact that it was raining and he didn't want to leave his car. Never on earth have I ever experienced service as rude as I just did especially knowing the fact that drivers work off tips and I was prepared to give $20 to that driver for a $30 bill. This place is pretty awesome. I have been coming here about five or six years with my kids for their amazing greek style pizza and salads. Always a great family night and I love the pizza. Reminds of the late Village Pizza in Madison. Green Peppers and meatball is a fave.The kids love the bread (although we have to make sure they do not eat too much)!! They also love the fountain. They also have delivery. We usually get this once a month and they are always timely and courteous (with warm pizza). One time the pizza was pretty late. I get it -- this happens -- and it was a one time occurrence form Post Corner. We did not complain. Nevertheless we received an apology in the mail a few days later with a gift certificate. NEVER AGAIN! I have been to a lot of places.... but this by far was the WORSE place I have ever eaten! I had chicken Slovakia,the chicken was so dry I needed the sauce to help it go down, but the Tadzhik sauce was so thick and gross, I have to guess they made it with cream cheese... My friend had the "special" Penne ala Vodka... how do you screw that up? It was like MUSH! either of us ate our food or took it home.... My family and I have been going here for over a decade and were always satisfied with the service, but my last few visits leave much to be desired. Maybe it is new staff who don't put as much effort into customer service as the other familiar faces. Waiting for our food was surprisingly long. The waitress offered a second basket of dinner rolls. How very nice of her. I'll overlook that she took away the basket before I had a chance to reach for the butter while I was cutting into the last roll. She'll be back soon with another basket and more butter, right? Fifteen minutes later and she never came back to our table. We had to stop her as she rushed by us and ask for more rolls. Then we waited...and waited...and waited for our pizza after we finished our appetizers. She didn't seem that concerned with our table and maybe 20 minutes later she apologized and said they're backed up in the kitchen. However, the table next to us ordered at the same time. They were a table of three and ordered similar items as we had. They were served promptly. Their pizza was done well before ours. When they finished their dinner and left, we were still waiting for our pizza. Absolutely ridiculous! By the time our pizza finally came, I already lost my appetite. And as if the service couldn't get worse tonight, when we asked for our last slice to go, they just gave us a tin foil and made us wrap it up ourselves! The table next to mine received the standard styrofoam box bagged in a plastic bag for their last slice of pizza. Quite frankly, I may have lost my appetite for Post Corner Pizza for the foreseeable future. Seems like there is a decline in service each time I've visited. Tonight was the worse service I have gotten at this restaurant. It's a shame because my family were regulars for over a decade and continued to come back due to the friendly staff. Not good pizza. I ordered the greek pizza, since I'm always down for some spinach and feta, but I was not happy with the result. The thick crust tasted frozen and it was very oily.
