This place is owned by the same restaurant group that does Sullivan's Fish Camp (possibly one of the worst restaurants in the lowcountry) and has the same look and feel. The service is good. The food is okay, but overpriced. It's not a place for locals really. It's a place for people to go that want to take photos. This place is very cute and eclectic, definitely great for a date night! We had multiple courses at and the food didn't disappoint at all. So many great flavors and all of the food tasted so fresh! Came for brunch today. Was able to get last minute reservations. Seated in the bar room. A little noisy but comfortable. It wasn't a high top table so that was a plus! Service and food excellent, as expected. Post house is always consistently good and I can count on not being disappointed when I dine here. I ordered the quiche. It came with a side salad. The only thing I didn't care for was they put the vinaigrette for the salad on top of the quiche. I thought it was a mistake but our server said that's the way they serve it. Next time I would ask for the dressing on the salad and not on the quiche. My husband had the southern. He enjoyed it very much, best collards ever! Post House is so stinkin' cute. Great service, always professional and polite. Drinks are fantastic always. Just a very high class yet relaxed establishment (if that makes any sense)? You'll feel classy enough in nice jeans and a top, but not that their noses are turned up at you the entire time like some nicer restaurants. Pricey for sure but expected for the area. I've never stayed in the hotel but have heard nothing but good things from friends who have. Parking is the usual - busy on the weekends or for events but that's another thing to be expected. If you can walk, bike, or scooter (I've done it lol) to the place then that solves any parking issues. As for food- I recommend the burger all day - it's a staple on the menu and I'd bet it's one of the most commonly ordered things. Paccheri Nero is good but does smell very fishy, just keep that in mind. Great place for a chill date or just some drinks with friends on the patio area. When I walked into Post House, I got such a Joanna and Chip vibe. The decor is simplistic but effective, and I love how open and bright it is. Apparently they've only been offering brunch for a few weeks, but I don't think that was super apparent. My friends and I decided to start with some mimosas and coffee as well as the key lime pignolis and a cinnamon bun. The pignolis were awesome! They were very light and had just the right amount of key lime flavor. The cinnamon bun on the other hand was really dense and seemed not fresh. I think it could have really benefited from being warmed up prior to serving. I ordered the Post House Brekkie as my main dish. Overall I wasn't super impressed. I ordered my eggs scrambled, and they were pretty bland. The grits were creamy and well seasoned, and I found the roasted collards to be interesting. I wasn't expecting them to have a dry texture almost like a chip but it worked. My boyfriend ordered the Back Bar Cheeseburger, which was quite delicious! The burger itself was cooked perfectly and the toppings made it super juicy. I would definitely return to try their dinner. We also noticed an oyster bar menu on the wall by our table. "Antebellum" style building with a broad menu. Salmon pate has some salmon roe making this a more flavorful starter. Crispy chicken is tasty on the garlic aioli base. The shaved zucchini is a huge portion - enough for 4 people as a side dish. The beer steamed clams are in a broth with a large amount of red pepper flakes (which is not listed on the menu) so it is a very spicy dish. I met my friends there for brunch and it was perfect. We sat in a cozy window booth with lots of space between us and the next table. I ordered a glass of rosé and the burger! This burger was double patties, cheese, pickles, special sauce and utterly delicious. It was messy and juicy and perfect! The "fries" were like whole crispy, fried potatoes. And let me tell you... when this space was owned and operated by Halls restaurant group I went legitimately 15-20 times, was one of my favorite little HH & hang out spots. The New Post house does NOT disappoint. It's is very different fare. But the ambiance and decor suit the cozy little space just like it did before. A solid disclaimer is that I've only come here for Sunday brunch. My family says this place has an incredible dinner menu. As for the brunch, first impression was that Post House is an extremely charming venue with good ol southern well-to-do vibes. The wait staff and the host staff could not have been more pleasant, as we were celebrating a family members birthday and they made every accommodation for us. As for the food, I had high hopes but was a little underwhelmed (only with portion sizes). On my steak and eggs dish, the steak and collards were delicious (especially the steak), but I was shocked at how tiny the steak was, as pictured. Wish they could've maybe thrown out the size on the menu or something and I probably wouldn't have gotten it, it looked like about 4 oz. Other than that I had no complaints. Adorable restaurant in a quaint hotel in a quaint part of Mount Pleasant. Outside down the street is where they filmed a scene from the Notebook, so picturesque all around. The tuna was served with seaweed and rice chips. It was really flavorful. My husband chose the pork ragu with rigatoni. The pork was well seasoned and the pasta al dente. I had the grouper. As others have mentioned in recent reviews, somehow the food has gotten overwhelmingly salty. On what will now be our last visit, I got the roasted and fried local eggplant with poached eggs and my fiancé got one of the specials; a French dip with rabe. What a cute place and the employees are just what makes this place special, Just to mention those that really made an impression, Anna Inn Manager, Allie aka Mixologist extraordinaire, Charlotte host, Colleen continental breakfast, Tyler was a good server. Wonderful touches, hand written notes, welcoming, celebrating the anniversary, baskets delivered to the door for our continental breakfast The 2 problems comes into play with the establishment and the owners/Operators of the Inn, there is definitely Confusion when it comes to delivery of services, i.e. what do they want to be ? An Inn? A restaurant? A party venue? Then the room itself was just dirty, the side tables,the dresser, the bathroom and those items you would come in contact on a regular basis are clean but we are talking unusual times with the pandemic, it should be spotless to give you a perceived feeling that the room is truly clean. The room itself is beautiful but it was not clean, dust on ceiling fan was so think it was built up on the edges pictures on walls had dust so thick it was noticeable, rug under the bed which is where you put your feet is so thick with hair, fibers from different things made you feel like you had to wear shoes to get around the room, it obviously hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The continental breakfast was included but coffee was never hot,Luke warm at best. The hard boiled eggs were were not hard but liquid in the middle, instead of asking, how would you like them cooked, the wife and 2 others who dined did not eat their eggs due to them being liquid in the middle. The Fruit and Croissants were always good and fresh and ripe and on the days we were given baskets at the door, the muffins and everything else were very nice. The final evening we had walked and done so much the first 4 days we decided to have dinner and relax in our room for the night. Well, their was a birthday party and Music (Bass) was so loud we couldn't relax in our room, the Birthday party music so loud you can hear in the video, although not as annoying as what we were hearing with the bass and it was at least a floor down, and was playing from 7pm-1015pm when we had to call to complain and when "Guest" quiet time had passed. The problem with this is we had to complain, really you are renting me a home for 4 days and I have to tell you I am trying to relax in my room??? We had discussed the little things that were wrong, dirty room, Eggs, etc. and up to this point we would have come back to visit, to give them a chance to correct and see if it was any better but... but they have lost sight of who the to make happy, Guests, restaurateurs or temp renters of the party room. Failure to take guests into consideration and allowing the party to continue past a reasonable hour has convinced me, if we were to stay again we would again have to complain to have them do the right thing. Now if you want a place to party or eat dinner this is the place for you, I am not so sure about staying at the inn, we will stay somewhere else and go their to eat. I finally got to visit Post House since they changed owners and remodeled the restaurant- and it was beautiful! The restaurant and bar area looked AMAZING! It was way more modern and bright than it use to be. We decided to try out their Sunday brunch. The place was very busy, but we never had an issue with timing or service. Our waitress was very attentive, and everything arrived at the table fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the oysters, shakshuka, and the cinnamon bun. I would have preferred something like sliced almonds on top of the cinnamon bun to add that crunch factor, rather than the seeds it was topped with (they were quite large and added a bit too much flavor)- but the bun itself was warm and delicious. We also really enjoyed the Bloody Mary. It was light and refreshing. It had a strong dill flavor- so if you don't like dill, I might recommend another cocktail. It went well with the raw oysters we ordered. The crab toast was OK-- the bread was a lot... and it was also burnt... but the dish had good flavors. I really use to enjoy the old Post House menu, but the new menu has some tasty options on it. It is a little more "basic" than it use to be, but I would be interested in trying a few more of their options in the near future! read more
