Dinosaur rib, slice beef sandwich, mashed potatoes, collard greens

Being from Texas I've missed bbq the last 5 years. I heard Post Oak has the best Texas style bbq in Denver & gave it a shot. First off, arrive early if you have something specific off the menu you are wanting. We got one dinosaur rib and they ran out shortly after. Their seasonings are definitely reminiscent of Texas barbecue & they serve Shiner on tap if you are a beer drinker.

Stopped in for lunch on Fathers Day. Even though we showed up 45 mins after opening, the line was out the door and moving slow. Guessing we stood in line for another 30 mins before we got to the counter. By the time that happened, they were already out of the hot links and the banana pudding. Soon after ordering, they ran out of the jalapeño and cheese sausage. Glad we got ours before they did. We ordered, got our table, and our food came out a little while later in waves. My daughter and I quickly realized we didn't each need our own sausage link. Getting one for the two of us would've been plenty. The sausage was fantastic. Lean brisket was a little fattier than I like but was still good. Ribs were a little dry on this day, but fine, I guess. My other daughter tried the turkey but didn't care for it. She said she'd get sausage next time too. I liked her turkey. My wife gets the brisket sandwich. She liked it but commented there could've been more meat. Brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, and fries are all delicious. The gooey butter cake is a good way to end the meal. Food here isn't cheap. $175 for the four of us is a lot for lunch. However, it's a really good meal, and if you leave here hungry, it's your own fault.

My fiancé and I recently moved here from Texas, which is famous for bbq. When we moved into the Tennyson area, we kept passing Post Oak and the smell was always DELICIOUS. We finally decided to stop in, and we were not disappointed! Everything was so tasty. Very comparable to Terry Black's in ATX, if you've been there. Standard portions and options, and I like that they have specials every day of the week. This amount of food was more than enough for two of us. We will definitely be back!

Came back after a year, and it was still just as good as the first time. I really love the Mac and the brussel sprouts are delicious. It wasn't as crowded as the first time we came so it was a nice atmosphere. I had a free pulled pork sandwich which was HUGE. We also got two spare ribs, 1/2 pound brisket and Parmesan fries. The spare ribs and the pork sandwich were the highlights both were juicy and just great flavor. The let downs for me were the fries they were like soggy and just not a consistent fry on them. I also am not the biggest fan of the brisket as I kind of think it's dry. Otherwise this place is great and I would recommend.

Best Texas-style barbecue in Denver - is not even close! Dino ribs, brisket, pork ribs - and pork belly, and all the sides - STELLAR - best anywhere near Denver. The only possible negatives are the long lines sometimes, and when they run out of many of our faves. Staff is awesome, too - friendly and always cheerful.

Sat&sun special was the giant ass rib it was worth every cent!!!!

DIVVVIIINNNE BBQ! We never got his name but the buff bartender w blonde curly hair actually made our first experience here exceptional. He offered so so many suggestions and spent a good amount of his time explaining the menu and making sure we got the best possible experience at Post Oak as first timers. They let you choose how fatty of a piece of brisket you'd like as well which I thought was pretty cool and the atmosphere was great!

5 stars! As someone from Memphis, I'm pretty picky when it comes to BBQ, so I don't hand out praise lightly. Post Oak BBQ absolutely delivered. The Dino beef rib was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and worth every bite. The pork ribs were meaty and had great texture, and the collard greens had just the right amount of vinegar to balance everything out. This is the best BBQ I've found in town so far. The sauces lean more Texas-style than what I'm used to, but I won't fault them for that . If you're looking for outstanding BBQ, Post Oak BBQ is definitely worth a visit.

We stopped by on our last day in the Denver area. I needed some MEAT! Our party of five received special attention from the owners who suggested we order a family-style platter of a selection of their meats. We opted for this with pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey and spicy jalapeño sausage complimented with sides of corn bread muffins, cowboy beans and collard greens. I've had Texas BBQ in San Marcos during a recent visit and this compared favorably to Salt Lick BBQ. The brisket was lean and very tender, the pork was on par with any other pulled pork I have had back east. However, to me, the star of the show was the smoked turkey. The two slabs I ate were easily the best I have had to date. Juicy, tender and smoked to perfection. The sides got mixed reviews. Some weren't wild about the collards and, given I don't like them, I can't comment. However, the cowboy beans were a perfect side for all this meat. It had great taste and just the right amount of heat. The corn bread muffins were great with their honey butter. Man, they give you a lot of butter! We left our hunger behind and still had several take-out containers for a snack on the road. I liked this place a lot and it is now one of my favorite places to eat when in Denver.

Top to bottom an amazing BBQ restaurant, the only thing I didn't like was the beans. Starting with the service it was AMAZING! We opted to sit at the bar and our very busy bartender could not have been a better hostess. Making suggestions, answering questions, and even ensuring that I got a military discount I would not have thought to ask for at the end of my meal. (I didn't realize I was wearing my Army shirt) The food was outstanding not too much smoke (but still a Smokey flavor) tender and juicy meat, and 3 different sauces on the side to pair with. The Beans were not my favorite but that was a matter of preference in liking very BBQ forward beans. They were still cooked well. The Mac & Cheese was creamy with just the right amount of flavor and the mashed potatoes with country gravy were delicious. My favorite was the Jalapeño cheese sausage which was unbelievably delicious. The cost to food ratio was fair, and while BBQ is a bit more expensive it was very much worth it.

This place was off the hook! A 4.5 if I could adjust the rating. Colorado dwelling from Texas originally, we've been looking for Texas BBQ all over. I have to say we were thoroughly impressed here off the Tennyson strip! The staff was thorough and kind, greeting us in and sending us off with full bellies and smiles radiating. The place was bustling and full, a good sign in my book. We chose a few classics to get a good feel: beef brisket, smoked turkey, smoked wings with collard greens and the house bacon mac as our sides. Unfortunately, rolling in at nearly 7 we missed the honey glazed biscuits and Dino-ribs, already sold out for the day. The wings and turkey were cooked perfectly! I did prefer the juicier flats compared to the drums. The brisket, coming in at third place, was dry unfortunately. The sauces had to carry that one down, although the smoky flavor was there. Greens were absolutely delicious, the bacon mac was creamy and thick and flavorful. The Texas and Carolina sauces were a crowd favorite, tangy with a little kick, just enough to get the sinuses running! They had complimentary white bread (not toasted), cucumbers and jalapeños. Overall, the place was wonderful! I can't wait to go back start of service, see if we get blessed with some of the other meats they got to offer. :)

Post Oak is the best bbq spot! The service is friendly, the food came out fast and the taste is top notch! I wish they had more locations. Parking is a struggle on Tennyson.

Literal perfection!!! Got the pulled pork Carolina and it was gone in 2.5 seconds!! Brussel sprouts and jalapeño Mac n cheese were great too. Only thing I regret is not ordering more meat options!! Prolly a good thing I don't live around here or else I'd be there once a week! Sat at the bar and the bartenders were super friendly! Everything came out really fast too. Went later than the normal dinner rush (like 7/8ish) and it was still busy!

Overall rating: 4.5/5 I love Texas style bbq so I was super excited to check out Post Oak Barbecue when I visited Denver. The inside was lively with people going in and out. Once inside, line up to order your meal which they prepare and bring to your table. One thing to note is that they do prefer you order first before finding a table. I came with family on a Tuesday around 7pm and it was decently packed. We parked along the streets and walked on over. The servers were really friendly and took their time explaining their menu. Our food came out within 10 minutes after we ordered. For a party of 4, we got: 1. Brisket (4/5): flavor was good but a bit dry 2. Sausage (5/5): good flavor and had a bite to it 3. Loaded potatoes with pulled pork (5/5): the biggest baked potato I had! Pulled pork was amazing 4. Corn muffin (3.5/5): good but pretty standard. It came with a cinnamon butter which I didn't really like 5. Dirty Mac with burnt ends (5/5): creamy and velvety either great flavor! I loved the burnt ends 6. Cream corn (4/5): good flavor but consistency was a bit watery 7. Brussel sprouts (5/5): these were phenomenal! Great flavor and really crispy! Overall a great place to check out. I'd recommend coming and for sure ordering the Brussel sprouts sides with whatever else interests you!

Sure you should. So I had the time to drive 20+ minutes from work to get to the northside to try out the Little Wolf's burger bar located inside the establishment and called the "Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." (Don't ask me why.) I made the drive mainly because I'd asked AI where some of the best burgers were in Denver area and one of the answers (when I asked for "quality ingredients") was "Little Wolf/Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite. Having grown up with Italian heritage on both sides and parents who owned an Italian restaurant, I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to authentic cuisine. He was worried I'd be overcritical; instead, I was completely charmed. Located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, Parisi offers the kind of authenticity that is rare to find. Here is why it earned a perfect score from a tough critic: The Main Course: The Tagliatelle Ragu was balanced and traditional--exactly what you want from a high-caliber kitchen. The "Woodfire" Factor: The aroma of the woodfire pizza oven hits you the moment you walk in. While we opted to eat inside rather than on the lovely patio, those scents alone convinced me that I have to return specifically for the pizza next time. The Grand Finale: I had to finish the meal with my favorite, Stracciatella gelato. It was the perfect creamy, artisanal end to a fantastic lunch. The service was seamless, the ambiance was inviting, and the food spoke for itself. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true slice of Italy in the middle of Denver, this is it. I'll definitely be back to tackle that pizza menu!
