5 for the burnt ends and their BBQ sauces both sweet and spicy! Perfection 5 for the smoked Mac n cheese. The shells are the thick kind so it's not a traditional Mac n cheese pasta fyi. The cheese sauce is delish. 4 for the baked beans as they were a tad too soft and needed more bbq sauce, or molasses or something. 4 for the greens. They taste healthy, you can't taste the smoked meat, but there wasn't any savory type flavor. Service was fast! Parking is easy. The wife and I went here for lunch. Great, great decision. Let's talk about service, food/drink, and vibe. Service. We sat at the bar, although they have cool seats out the front door, and a nice patio also. I loved the bar area. Kook was our bartender. He immediately greeted us, and gave us stellar service throughout our visit. We got some history on the place, along with how they make their food. Sometimes, you get service from someone who might know a menu and the dishes, but it is just knowledge. And sometimes you get service from someone who has true passion for what they are serving. Kook gave us service where every explanation, every description, and every check-in filled was filled with absolute passion for BBQ food. You could tell he loves, loves, loves what he does. Food/Drink. They had a West Coast IPA, which is always a good thing, and the wife had vodka/lemonade. We decided to share the two meat plate with brisket and burnt ends, with mac and cheese and cucumber salad as our sides. The brisket was solid, as was the cucumber salad and mac and cheese, but the burnt ends were ridiculously good. Like, where does it go on my all-time list good. Worth the trip alone. They had sauces on the bar, but the real magic was on a shelf in the back. Our favorites were the green chili and Alabama white. Vibe. I personally LOVED this place. We were there during a slow time, but you got the feeling that it would be a really fun place when packed. Widespread Panic stuff (owners are fans) on all of the walls...another winner for me. OU banner, which my wife loved (owner went to OU). Cool bar area, other parts to sit in, chill music in the background. Loved the energy of the place. Ok let's get into this spot. It's good. Real good. Texas style with a wealth of sauces to make any sauce guy love them all. Burnt ends were yummy with good bark. Pulled pork was solid! The moment I walked in I was greeted with a big smile! This place feels so warm and welcoming ! We popped in to get some food to go and I was so captivated by the heart and stories and art in this place. They also hold lots of local and fun events like music bingo. The food when we got home was still hot and absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and there were so many sauces to choose from. There was this jalapeño one that was sweet and spicy and my absolute fave! They have a brisket Swiss dip sandwich (I forget the exact name) but omg yes the roll was fluffy and tasty and the meat perfect and just so much flavor ! We got also some brisket and sausage mashed potatoes and gravy potato salad (I'm a potato gal) and those burnt ends we got OMG... so much flavor and crunch but also juicy how do they do it? I will be doing a reel this week on them for more info if you are curious. And this was not a promo or food given to us or anything like that. Came for dinner, my partner had the 3 meat plate and I had the dry rub chicken wings with blue cheese. My wings were a bit too salty for me but the blue cheese helped, overall just ok. I didn't get to try my partner's plate but he reported that he enjoyed his selection of meats, overall good. I'm giving a higher score of 4 because a lot of over eateries I've tried during my visit (first time here) in Denver had been too salty for me so it may just be a me issue. Checked out this place for the first time and loved it! We just had a hankering for some BBQ and decided to give this place a try. It's located near Wadsworth and 38th. I ordered online and drove to pick up my order. One thing I liked was there was a parking lot that I just pulled in and went to the front door. I hear this place can get busy but I had no problem finding a spot and getting in to pick up my order on a Sunday afternoon. I must have been a minute early but they told me I could get my sauces towards the back of the area. While I was picking out my sauces they brought my order all packed and loaded into a large hand carry paper bag. This first time we both tried the rib plate. When you add a side dish it comes to around $15. My side dish was fries and hers was a cucumber salad. Other available sides include baked beans and even collard greens! The ribs themselves were meaty and quite good even before adding a sauce. The initial taste was delightful and tantalizing! As an additional surprise we received an extra rib so it was four instead of three. Yum it's just great. There is seating inside and they have a nice outside covered patio. I can see why this place is popular. It clicks all the boxes and it's a true BBQ place. Nothing fancy here but it's spot on for real BBQ. If you're in the area stop in and give them a try. Picked up 1/2 lb of brisket and pulled pork mac and cheese. The food was SO GOOD!!! We tried all of their bbq sauces and loved the green chili sauce and spicy sauce the most. The bartender was really friendly and the service was really quick! The dining room has a warm and welcoming pub feel. Outside seating as well. Trivia on Wednesday nights and drink specials!!! I ordered the Mac n cheese bowl with pulled pork on top and a side of jalapeno corn bread. My husband ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides meal. He ordered brisket, burnt ends, smoked Mac n cheese and potato salad. I wasn't able to finish my meal because I also stole some of my husbands potato salad Everything was so good. The smoked Mac and cheese was the best I've had. Not too smoky or cheesy or dry. The potato salad tastes just like Mom made. I couldn't ask for anything more 10/10 can't wait to go again. read more

Excellent BBQ! The ribs were great and fell off the bone. The sandwich was huge and had 3 meats, beans and Cole slaw. The fries, Mac n cheese and wings were very heavily seasoned. I liked this, but I could see how it could be too much for some people. The staff were friendly and the establishment was clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived just before 5pm on Saturday and it was pretty empty, but by the time we ordered and sat down, the place was full. We will definitely return, it was top notch bbq! read more

Major changes for the worse in August 2024 so check the dates as you read reviews. Unfortunately, with these changes other than the local Wheat Ridge vibe it's not much different than any other bbq chain. Used to be good bbq at an average price now average bbq at a premium price. The cost for a standard bbq meal of 2 meats and 2 sides has almost doubled and comes with less since they changed to à la carte. They also got rid of number sauces (now only 2) and there are no more fixins. It's pretty obvious that Rolling Smoke is adding locations, cutting corners and maximizing profit. No shame in that, it is a business after all. just know that is what kind of place it is. The local Wheat Ridge vibe is still there thanks to the location. Still a great place to "meat up" with friends however unless the atmosphere is worth the premium price you might as well hit up a larger bbq chain. The food will be just as good and you'll probably get more. read more

The place is a great location and nice rustic interior - seating comfortable to get my grub on- ribs were spot on - meaty - smoked to perfection - moist - and fall off the bone! Sampled all the smoke sausage - again home run ! Another favorite was the Redneck Cuban which has the most amazing smoked bologna I've ever had. I must add that the burnt ends topped everything and showcased to true pit master excellence as so many places claim the have good burnt ends - this is the very highest watermark in my years and years of eating bbq from coast to coast. The staff were amazing and the pulled pork, mac, and baked beans were pretty good, and the burnt ends were amazing, but my main concern was the brisket. It was dry and tough, I almost had to use a knife to cut it instead of the fork. Brisket is supposed to be the trophy of every bbq restaurant. It should be among the best meats you offer, so I thought it might be an off day or something. I wanted to check with someone before I posted this review and when I asked someone with a long beard who seemed to be in his 40's if it's normally that tough and he actually struggled to cut it in two with the fork, then his response was that brisket shouldn't be tender, and should be chewy. That you shouldn't be able to pull it apart or stretch it and if you can that's how you know it's overcooked. I've worked at a few bbq restaurants and that's definitely not true, it's the toughest driest brisket I've ever had and if tender juicy brisket means it's wrong I don't want to be right. read more
