The bourbon chicken was crispy and juicy, the rice was soft and perfectly cooked, the Mac and cheese was cheesy but a bit bland, and the potatoes were oiled and seasoned really well (but there was a lot of oil). I mixed the Mac with the potatoes to give the Mac more flavor. The eggrolls were really good too; I wish they had duck sauce instead of only sweet and sour sauce. It is A LOT of food. I'm going to have leftovers at least for the next few meals. My total came out to around $28. My boyfriend got the same thing as me except he got the cabbage as a side. Finally tried Bourbon Grill and it is delicious. My main issue is that I forgot to take a picture of the food as it was so good and ate it ravenously. I got it to go (UberEats if being honest) and the to go container was packed to the brim with bourbon chicken over rice with two sides. I chose the spicy noodles which are spaghetti with a spicy sauce (maybe ketchup based) and cabbage. They were both very tasty and the cabbage gave the plate a semblance of health (does have Vitamin C). The chicken is ridiculously good cooked grilled and charred. The sauce from the chicken gets onto the king sized bed of rice and is just divine. One portion will last for two meals in most cases. Can't wait to go back. read more

I'm probably gonna get a lot of flacks by giving 3 stars to one of Denver's most cherished "hole in the wall" turned "mom and pop" spot. Believe me I've had this saved on my high to-try list for so long, perhaps the anticipation added to the agony when things didn't go completely right. This was strictly my experience for that day. I had placed a group order online for a 4:30pm pick up. I arrived at the neighborhood and of course parking was tight. I thought I'd just go in and out to pick up the food. But I got there and my order wasn't even started yet. I was repeatedly told because I had ordered wings, they take longer to make as they make them fresh to order. Throughout the 15 min wait, the guy who looks to be owner or owner's son (?) was very courteous, offered me drinks while I wait, etc. I really appreciated that but if I didn't mind the waiting, I would've dined in. I chose to place an order online because I needed my food to be ready for pick up at 4:30pm! Also, I was a little nervous waiting in there by myself. I don't need to say much about that part of the the Colfax neighborhood for you to understand what I'm talking about. I stood at a corner and these customers without any sense of personal space just kept crowding me, probably thought why wasn't I sitting down.... in any case, I was made uncomfortable. I wished more than anything my friends were here and we'd be eating already. The food came out fresh but by the time I got them to the destination half an hour later, the fries were soggy and the paper bag soaked with oil. The portion size is surprisingly large. Bourbon chicken was delicious - I wish we had all gotten that because the other stuff (wings, potatoes, mac and cheese) were just ok. The spicy spaghetti tasted pretty good but I'm not sure whey they were cut up - I prefer my spaghetti long. All in all, I'm glad I finally got to try Bourbon Grill and if anyone asks me what to get there, I'd answer: just the bourbon chicken! read more

The chicken comes in a bed of steamed rice and with the combo you add 2 sides.... the sides are not the shining stars here but I'd pick the potatoes and Mac n cheese if I get sides again. Same owners doing the same thing at their sit-down spot further west at the corner of Colfax and Pearl for the last few years. Not great parking but still great diner-like food. Kind of a "meat and three" place where the teriyaki chicken rules. I always skip the rice and make it chicken, green beans and corn with a side of extra teriyaki sauce because there are always leftovers.
